We pick this place on a whim driving to Alton to see some of the touristy things and walk around. While approaching the building we were worried it wouldnt be appropriate for our two and four year olds. But as soon as we walked in we knew it was a family-friendly environment with lots of other families inside. The food was delicious I had the Three Little Pigs sandwich and others enjoyed the specials. The chicken Stingers are delicious Azar the fried mushrooms. It was also fun to take the little ones around the corner to play the pinball machine. We are rarely in Alton but this was a really good experience and I plan to go there again next time Im in the area.

With the low ceilings, lack of windows, and concrete floor, I felt like I was in a basement. She spent all that money replacing windows, yet the dining area cant appreciate them. Sound carried greatly and I could hear every conversation in the room. Quite an echo and loud. Despite an almost empty dining room, Staff was inattentive and slow. The waitress was either half deaf or didnt listen. Wait staff definitely needs education on proper customer service. Food was ok at the most. Crab cakes were dry and bland. Ordered fries for an extra $1.50 and received a skimpy partially filled ~1/2 cup of fries. Very disappointed and will likely not go back.

Messed up my spicy chicken and shrimp pasta I asked for no artichoke hearts. It came out with artichoke hearts. They brought the new plate out twenty minutes later and my girlfriend had finished her meal and was ready to go. Then they also forgot my baked potatoes. I complained to the manager as we were leaving and they bring an ice cream out. My pregnant girlfriend didnt want an ice cream when shes ready to leave. They shouldve discounted the meal for making me wait atleast 5 bucks. Walked out still left a 10 dollar tip but never going back

Been here twice, once wen it was located off Martin Luther King and at the new location. First time was awful, food was not cooked it arrived partially frozen. To top it off, we waited 45min for the food. Today 5/14/17, we visited with family (the only reason I went). The food was cooked, but service was not good. We waited 20min to get our drinks, we had to ask for refills and our bill which we waited over 30min to get. It was a buffet, and our server didnt have to do much but still couldnt provide service. I cant recommend this place.

Large portions of good food at reasonable prices. The menu has a good variety for everyone. The service is also friendly. The one downside is the noise levels. The finished concrete floors are visually appealing but they really add to the noise levels. Aside from that I would highly recommend giving them a try

We recently moved to Alton and happen to come across this place so tried it...we were pleasantly surprised! Good food, good service, friendly staff, clean, reasonable prices. We have gone back quite a few times since then and order take out quite often as well. well worth checking out.

OMG...had the best pork chop dinner. Perfectly grilled meat with mashed potatoes and green beans. Just like home cookin! It was the special that day. The downstairs dining area has nice clean modern look with historical pictures on wall...nice touch. Very nice waitress.

Our service was great! Thanks Ray! The food was tasty and prices were reasonable. Atmosphere and decor were comfortable and classy. We were happy to learn they carried Bex Riesling, a wine we enjoyed on our honeymoon! We will return to Bluff City!

Terrible Chicken Philly, forgot the cheese and took it back only to microwave cheese on half. Not to mention dry chicken that tasted like it was cooked yesterday. Serving was small with very little peppers. Waitress smelled like alcohol.

We decided to chance lunch at the BCGR as we were headed back to STL and were pleasantly surprised with the decor, atmosphere, food, prices AND service. If you are undecided about going in - do so and you will be glad you did!
