Best. Diner. Ever. Seriously. You havent lived until youve had their pancakes (or stolen a few bites from your kid). Youll sit down in a short-order style diner with some of the friendliest waitstaff around. They love to chat and have fun with their guests (sometimes it takes a few extra minutes to get service, but the food makes up for it). Your coffee cup will stay full and youll be smiling every time you smell the syrup. If your appetite feels like an unslayable beast, order the Empire State Sandwich (full). Youll regret saying "how hard can it be to finish it?" because that thing is massive. I usually cant finish half. Prices are pretty good, my family of three usually gets away with a $20 bill before the tip. Get their early, though, because there is a well-justified wait.

After seeing numerous tv commericials for this place, we decided to give it a try. I ordered meatloaf with mash potatoes. My finace orders the reuben with fries. First off, it took 40 minutes to get our food. I honestly think the cook was doing one order at a time from start to finish. The meatloaf tasted like dog food. It was some sort of processed mystery meat. I couldnt eat it. The reuben was OK....but very disappointing for a "NY Diner" It looked nothing like the tv commercial. To top of our experience, upon leaving the girl at the register was on the phone and would not even acknowledge we were standing there. I was about 30 secs from walking out without paying until our server noticed and ran over to check us out. Bottom line, this place SUCKS and we will never go back.

The waitress was awesome. But we just left after two burgers that were ordered were incorrect. Ordered a medium rare cook on both. Waitress caught it the first time and said the cook made it well-done so they were redoing. Brought order out and it was now raw. It was not like it was raw because were were picky, raw because it wasnt even cooked slightly. We did not have to pay including the gyro with the order which was nice. But what truly bothers me is that as either the owner or manager was too busy for her to come out and apologize. That is the part that is truly unacceptable. Therefore, I have no desire to go back.

I have been eating breakfast at this place regularly for a couple of years but something changed, I hear a lot of bickering between the workers and I have listened to their disgruntled talk about the customers as they leave. This month they have gotten my order wrong 4 or 5 times and when I point it out, they wipe out the parts that were wrong with some napkin and then put the rest back in front of me... really? what am I suppose to do, eat my breakfast one item at a time..... its like nobody cares, but they sure do expect a nice tip when you leave. I have way to many options for breakfast to put up with this crap.

Amazing! Finally a place that lives up to my expectation. As someone who grew up in NJ I am EXTREMELY picky when it comes to any place that states "NY/NJ" style or authenticity. This place absolutely reminded me of home from the owners accent to the bagel sandwich I miss so much. Everyone was friendly and you can tell they remember regular customer which I personally love. My only complaint is that they only open till 3pm and just about every diner up north is open 24hr. So I am only able to make it here on a weekend. But I highly recommend if you want to know what a REAL diner is supposed to be like.

I eat breakfast here every morning. They have a 2 eggs with grits or potatoes and choice of bacon or sausage for only 5.99 Including Coffee. I can handle that! Actually, I can afford most any breakfast I want. It is the IDEA of spending 10 dollars or more for breakfast that pisses me off. The food is good, and it is served very fast. I had a Reuben sandwich here yesterday, and it was excellent, and piled high with Corned Beef. I had the fries, and they were fried with the skins on them, and I dont care for that. Next time, I will not order them with the Reuben Sandwich.

My wife and I have breakfast at the dinner every weekend. We try to get there before 8:30 so we dont have to wait. But if we do have to wait its only 5 to 15 min. I wont lie nothing on the menu is good for you. No super foods or quinoa. And I love it. Old fashioned bacon and eggs some of the best French toast, pancakes, and waffles I have ever had. But what they do best is their breakfast sandwiches. We have had lunch a few times and it does not disappoint. Great prices and friendly staff.

The New York Diner has never disappointed us for breakfast or lunch. The staff is down to earth and great. The food is amazing. It is always hot and fresh. You can always tell the good ones by looking at the line when church gets out and The New York Diner has a long one, but it goes quick and is worth any wait. The owner is always around and she makes sure the quality is perfect.

This is a classic locals NY diner; Breakfast and Lunch menu. Service is delivered with a smile and classic flair. Menu is robust with you call it breakfast options, burgers, deli sandwiches, Italian and periodic specials. Coffee and food are served hot with a bustling atmosphere with a sizzle in the background, save for the half dozen tables on the sidewalk.

Good food with a large selection. I ordered a burger and fries and the burger was the best burger Ive had in a long time. The restaurant is well themed, appearing to be very much like the typical New York Diners in movies (Ive yet to go to New York). The employees are kind and quick about everything.

This is the epitome of the Great American Diner: friendly wait staff, great coffee, and delicious breakfast food. I usually get two eggs over medium, homefries (request extra crispy), pork roll, and toast. They cook it right, so its hard to go wrong.

Always pleased with the flavor, staff, atmosphere, and prices! You can tell there are a lot of regulars, they are often full! Our only wish is that it were open for dinner, we pass by several times a week at 7pm craving their food!

NYD offers great food, both breakfast and lunch at very good prices. The service is very friendly and you dont wait long for a very flavorful meal to arrive. Family owned with a family atmosphere, I highly recommend.
