Terrible, Terrible Customer Service. The rooms are nice, and if you can overlook the poor customer service in every other area you are fine. We had our wedding in Treasure Island, and had numerous guests stay at Sunset Vistas Beachfront Suites. 1. They did not give any discounts to the bride and groom, or accommodations as most hotels would for bringing a large party, 2. They did not disclose the amount for taxes or incidentals when guests called to ask for totals - so i embarrassingly had several guests very upset for an unexpected $3-400 more than they had planned for, 3. They did not come to clean or service the rooms at all unless you called down to request items such as towels and toilet paper, 4. The staff was rude to guests, acted like you were putting them out - the only person with a pleasant attitude was Cindy, the manager of the cafe. Everyone else was simply terrible. 5. They over charged and will not admit that they owe money back. I currently have to discuss with my bank to determine what happened and will probably have to have several disgruntled phone conversations with management to receive my money back. We made the most of it, despite the disappointment and embarrassment we faced accommodating guests, however; i would never recommend anyone to stay here.

Our stay at Sunset Vistas took place the week before the Memorial Day weekend and over the weekend itself. My husband and I and our two older teens were absolutely thrilled with the accomodations provided at this hotel. We had a gulf view on an upper floor, our view was amazing! We enjoyed watching fireworks one evening from our balcony! A real treat! Our suite was wonderful, very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable and very clean as well! We enjoyed the food at the Hotel Cafe and the live music and drinks at the outside bar each day were great and so entertaining! The swimming pool was clean and relaxing! The beach was beautiful and very clean, wonderful warm water and plenty of marine life! The staff at the hotel went way above and beyond for us when we lost our rental car keys...found by a very dedicated maintenance employee! Little things like an assigned parking spot, observant security at the entrance and the presence of staff members on the facility grounds combined with excellent customer service made our vacation about as perfect as it could be! We didnt want to leave and would love the opportunity for a return visit!

Weve stayed here now 3 years in a row and are booking our 4th. Fantastic full and I do mean FULL kitchens, the most dreamy beds imaginable, you cant beat having a full gulf view AND IN ROOM washer and dryer. Makes packing a breeze! Swimsuit, one decent outfit for nightlife, hop on a plane!!! We usually spend $150 on groceries for breakfast, snacks, lunch and take the TIPS ONLY transport to Johns Pass or other places on the island for activities and dinner. Weve got pre-teen kids so its a perfect match for our vacation. The staff have been NOTHING but FANTASTIC!! Our flights always arrive before check in and they hold our luggage while we grab lunch upstairs and head to the beach! (Best rates are had by calling them directly) Two bedrooms and a decent fold out couch in living area, access to lanai via living area or master bedroom which has en suite full bath (another full bath off main living space) means everyone can sleep, game ( our son brings his xbox) eat, etc and not feel crammed up. Free wireless means I can stay in touch with work or fiddle on my iPad. I can say enough good things about the Sun Vista!!!!

Summary: Would stay again. Pros: Easy access from the road. Directly on the beach. 2 pool areas, one for adults and another for little kids. Covered parking (I would NOT bring an RV or an extra long truck or van, it can be a tough squeeze with cars and SUVs). Rooms had dishes and cookware to use. In room washer and dryer. Communal box of Beach stuff (take what you need, leave what you dont want) made the beach experience more enjoyable and less expensive. City sponsored umbrellas and chairs (9am-5pm) $30 a day). Across the street from a well stocked gas station of essentials and alcohol. Less then 1 mile from a great outdoor shopping area and food. 1 mile from Walgreens and a grocery store (Publix). Cons:The pull out bed was the worst, felt like thin cloth over springs, the kid ended up opting to just sleep on the couch cushions it was so bad. Obviously broken door handle on one of the sliding patio doors. Slowly leaking clothes washer that made a constant dripping sound. Slight mold in the shower.

We had such a terrific time here that we are planning on returning next year. We typically go to Daytona Beach and decided to try Clearwater after reading so many great reviews on the area. We enjoyed the area tremendously. It is a very family friendly environment and the beaches were beautiful. My kids really enjoyed themselves. The hotel was wonderful. We love suites and the ability to make our own food and have a home away from home. We booked sunset vistas because it was one of the least expensive options for the area and were so pleased that we got such great quality for the price. The kitchen was wonderful with granite countertops and great ammenities for cooking. Every room had a view of the beach which we enjoyed every morning on our small terrace. I love the separate kiddie pool and adult pool. If you do venture out to Sunset Vistas have a Long Island Iced Tea at the beach bar - it is one of the best I have ever had. You will have a fantastic time!

First, Id like to say, our room was very clean as well as the grounds. They dont provide any housekeeping other than fresh towels and trash pickup every other day and they dont make beds. We were told our room was a 2 bedroom/2 bath. It was not; it was a 2 bedroom/1.5 bath. Fortunately, the other couple who were supposed to join us backed out otherwise it would have been a very, very awkward situation. When I questioned the front desk clerk she said that it is classified and marketed as a 2/2 because it was a handicap room. Hum, still doesnt make sense? The kitchen offers just the basics which actually worked out for us, however, if you want salt and pepper bring it yourself. If you want coffee bring your own + filters. If you want a plastic or to-go cup, bring it yourself. Even the front desk does provide them. No glass on the beach, no glass at the pool...then SV, provide disposable cups!

OK - after fours hours of searching for hotels along the Gulf, we found the Sunset Vistas... good price, on the beach, good reviews and here we are. Its day 3 of our stay and I cant begin to attest to what an awesome place this is! The rooms are like apartments - clean and roomy. The staff is first class. (say Hi too "Peg" from us - hes the greatest) The pool is heated and clean. The beach is perfect (spacious, white sand with lots & lots of shells for the kids to collect). The Sunset Vistas is surrounded by touristy shopping areas and awesome restaurants. (The staff has made great recommendations for all our activities). So be assured, Cindy & her staff have made this one of the greatest vacations weve ever had and we will return. In fact, you will be amazed how many of the guests are here on a return trip and have made the Sunset Vistas an annual getaway.
