I hate trendy little restaurants like this, I prefer small Cafes, or Cuban places. However I went here with some friends and my Girlfriend, I was pensive. I ordered the fish and chips, a simple dish that many try to make more complex and was pleasantly surprised. Many places will tamper with a classic in order to make it their own and ruin it, here however the fish and fries were both simple yet tasty and the tartar sauce while not the most traditional blew my mind. The whole ride home my girlfriend was telling me "I told you so" (as she has had to put up with my ranting about restaurants trying to make things more complex than they are) I havent sampled the whole menu mind you but if there fish and chips are any example of what this place can do with food I would give it a whole hearted (and full stomached) recommendation. She had the Shepard pie, and put second only to my stepfathers (she loved it). As for the service and environment you cant go wrong. The patio is beautiful (as are the servers although that can get you in trouble) the service was rather prompt, surprising based on how busy they were, and the beer selection was not just broad but fairly priced (a rarity in my opinion). I would say if you are from the bay area you have no excuse for not trying Irish 31, and if youre visiting an looking for tasty food and cool little spot nestled in a nice area this is it.

I recently visited Irish 31 in South Tampa because I had never been before. I travel alot for business and like trying new places in the area Im staying. I was extremely displeased with my experience. I was sat immediately, but my server (Alex) didnt acknowledge my presence for about ten minutes that I sat patiently. When she approached me she was finishing food in her mouth and laughing with a co-worker. I noticed her continuing her conversation instead of getting my beverage. My service was only downhill from there. She never checked back to see how my food was, she only dropped the check off. My meal ( St.Patty Melt ) tasted fresh and was exactly what I was craving at the time. However, the service ruined the experience. After watching my server and several of her co-workers I doubt that I will be back to this location.

Great time, good food! We stopped here for lunch on a Saturday and had a great experience. They know how to make a good Black & Tan, and their private label Irish 31 Red Ale is quite tasty. While they did forget our appetizer, it was a blessing in disguise because the entree portions are huge! My wife had their Ruben Boxty, which is unique and delicious. I had the Pie of the Shepherd, and that was perfect. Great combo of mashed potatoes and cheese on top, with savory ground beef and veggies inside. Have the "queen size" portion unless you havent eaten for a few days. Try this place!

Overall great place to relax, watch the game and eat amazing food. Drink service was great! Our server let me try different beers till I settled on a cider and my mom got the pain killer. So many flavors captured in the food. Their homemade blue cheese is to die for! A great compliment to the chips and great for dipping your burger into. I ordered the stuffed mushroom entree, flavor was Okey, really dissatisfied with how the veggies were cooked, they were undercooked and still had a very watery taste. It was more of a veggie combo than a stuffed portobello mushroom.

Great Irish pub in historic Hyde Park. Hearty food with a wide assortment of appetizers, fish & chips, burgers, sandwiches, Reuben, salads and full bar, specializing in a wide range of beers. Fish & chips are battered in Guinness! And you have to try the boxty, a breaded, deep fried mashed potato ball filled with meat, cheese and veg.....opt for one of each....loaded (like a baked potato), corned beef and cabbage, Shepards pie, ham & cheese, each with a specific dipping sauce. They are huge, and three are enough for a meal, but fun to share with friends.

Great new addition to Westshore mall. I tried the zucchini sticks and boxtys. The menu is very intricate with a lot to choose from. Anyone will be able to find something they like on the menu. The wait staff was very well educated with great personalities. Pub was very clean in the dining area. There are a ton of TVs which will be perfect for football season.

Another fine example of great concept, poor execution. The staff was ungodly slow and the food was improperly cooked. The last time I went there, the place was nearly empty. I sat outside with a friend and we ordered a beer each. Nearly 30 minutes later, we were finally served our beers. This was about 2013, so I hope things have changed for their sake.

Best kept secret in Tampa Bay. The Salads are the best ever. Drinks are fairly priced. Great wait staff. Ate there two nights in a row June 18 and 19th. I am generally hard to please and usually wouldnt choose a Irish pub for dinner however it was more than just a pub. I will return Sunday for brunch.

My experience at irish 31 Hyde park was amazing!!! They have thee best boneless wings and their chicken sandwich is delicious. Manager Mike was so welcoming, my family and myself will definitely be visiting this weekend!!!

Ive driven past this place for years, and never stopped in. I was shocked at how good the food was! I guess I wasnt expecting that out of a pub...had the TURKEY & AVOCADO CIABATTA - deeeeelish!

I loved it. My boyfriend has the Irish 31 burger and loved it. Hes picky about burgers and he said its one of the best hes ever had. Homemade chips were amazing. Definitely recommend it.
