Let me start out this review by saying, my family and I are frequent visitors of the Council Oak. We probably go once a week and sometime every other week. We had an experience last night, that will probably stop us from ever visiting this establishment again. We pay very good money to go to this restaurant. Last night, that was not the case. We raved about this restaurant to a relative from New York and we decided why not take him out and let him see for himself. It all started out great, a normal dinner. We got our usual waitress, Karen, who by the way is wonderful. Absolutely nothing wrong with the wait staff. She was very attentive as usual. Then comes time to order. We order 3 long bone ribeye. It took a little while longer for our steaks to get out to us, which was understandable being a holiday weekend. We finally got our steaks and 2 out of the 3 steaks came out RAW, completely charred on the outside and RAW on this inside. My wife and I share a steak and she automatically pushed her steak to the side and wouldnt touch it. They took it back to the back and recooked it. It comes back and it is even more charred on the outside and STILL RAW on the inside. At that point my mother who was with us as well decided it was time to get someone. The kitchen manager, I believe, came over and offered to make another steak. We finally got that steak out to us after about 30 minutes. All of our sides were cold, our dinner guest had already finished his food. We cut into our steak, STILL RAW. So raw that when we cut it open, it was still bleeding. Finally we had enough and my mother decided it was time to get a manager. It took the manager another probably 20 minutes to get out to us. When she finally came out, the first words that came out of her mouth were "Whats wrong now". The whole time this lady was talking to my mother, she was beyond condescending. Basically telling my mother all she does is complain and they just cant "please" her. Telling my mother the way she orders her steak is incorrect. Then she took the steak out that mind you, had TWO BITES taken out of it. This lady had the audacity to say, "Youve pretty much ate all of it, huh, must of been real bad". At that point, our guest from out of state had to walk away because of the absolute rudeness coming from this manager named April. She begins telling my mother how she has dealt with my mothers complaining on multiple occasions. Which is very untrue. My mother has only complained one other time in the probably 100+ times theyve been there and it was for the same thing. My mother spoke to a pregnant woman that time, which was not this very rude condescending woman. This lady should not be allowed in the hospitality business. She cannot treat a paying customer with one ounce of respect and treats them as though they are the dirt on the bottom of her boots.

Overall it was a great experience. Our server Chelsea was friendly and attentive. We tried several things on the menu. The beef tips for tender and flavorful. The Oysters Rockefeller was delicious. The lobster bisque was delicately flavored but could have used more flavor layers/seasoning in my opinion. The French onion soup was very rich with a great combination of cheese on top. We split the Japanese Wagyu steak and it was amazing melt-in-your-mouth steak and perfectly cooked. We also ordered two lobster tails- one stuffed & one grilled. Both did not come out correctly. My stuffed one was overcooked with crispy chewy edges and my husbands was Luke warm. They made sure to fix these issues. The Truffle fries sucks lacked flavor and seasoning. The sauteed mushrooms were excellent and flavorful. The cauliflower also lacked seasoning. They brought us a delicious chocolate cake topped with chocolate ganache as a special anniversary dessert. We had a nice romantic booth - the ambiance was fantastic & we felt very pampered. We had two promotional Rowdies certificates totaling $200. Our bill would have been $350 before the promotion so after the discount it was only $150. Our server wrote next to the tip lines on the receipt " thank you :-)" and then "Original total $356" trying to ensure she was tipped properly. This to me was tacky and unnecessary because there are tip suggestions on the bottom of the receipt that show you a 20% tip would have been around $70 she could have just circled that. If they are having issues with customers not tipping on the original amount with these promo certificates they should make sure in the future to just grat the table. And include in the fine print of the certificate that a 20% gratuituty is required. ( we did tip her the 20% maybe a little more, but would have tipped even higher if she hadnt written the tacky note on our receipt, not professional).

Went this past Friday night, 11 May 2012, we quickly discovered that Black peoples money is not good enough at this establishment. The waitress did not take my wifes order, she didnt bring us the proper silverware to eat our food, she ignored us pretty much the whole time (I attempted to get her attention on one of her sprints by our table and she cut me off, held up one finger shouting " hold on!). Meanwhile, the waitress was tripping over herself catering to the table beside us. We finally got the chance to ask her about the service, her reply was "because we only ordered drinks and desserts, the service is different than when you order a meal". Really?!! I cant help but think we received such poor service because we are Black. We were pre-judged when we went in because everybody think Blacks dont tip. We always tip at least 20%, but this time treated them ( her) the way she treated us and left nothing. So, heads up to all Black patrons, Council Oak does not want your money, spend it somewhere else where you'll be treated with some respect.

Dined here for my birthday. Thought about other steakhouses but decided on the council oak because we planned on gambling. Like other reviews the restraunt is loud. We didnt mind but if you want a quite dining experience this isnt the spot. The decor is upscale and trendy. The kitchen is viewable from most tables. I was impressed with the kitchen. I felt like I was in kitchen stadium. The service was friendly and efficient. The food was amazing. We started with the scallops and crab cakes. The diver scallops were out of this world. The cakes were loaded with crab and with very very little filler. I ordered the special...bone in strip and my wife ordered the filet. My steak was cooked perfectly and was amazing. Tender , flavorful and so juicy. My wifes filet was just as good. Overall our experience was good. You can expect to spend around 230ish for two. This is apps, drinks, tip and main course. Not cheap but you know this coming in. I left the table satisfied with everything.

This is the WORST Casino I have ever been to. They have huge garages that they have built off the money many of what us regulars have spent their for years, and now they are going to start charging people that are not Elite players $10 to park in the garages. What makes it worse is that me and a lot of people I know have been going to the Hard rock for over 20 yrs. A few years back they stopped us regulars from parking on the 2nd floor in the south garage and made it only for Elite players, now we cant park in any garage for Free unless were Elite Players with a lot of money, wow. Now were going to srart driving to South Florida where they treat us much better and also the machines let you win. The past 7 to 8 years this Casino has taken so much money from us and its been very hard to win, but every time we go to Hollywood Florida to the Casino, we have no problem winning. The HARD ROCK IN TAMPA FLORIDA SUCKS BIG TIME.
