Updated my review for the new Corey Ave location: Ive been enjoying CHILL for a few years now & am happy to say that CHILL is Still my #1 go to restaurant on St Pete Beach for breakfast lunch or dinner for myself w/locals or out of town guests, as well as great business dinner location (even better now with additional back room dining space). I could talk about the scrumptious-ness of nearly every menu item & the feasible expectation that every last bite will be delish, but theres not enough room here to give due credit for all. Ill highlight breakfast by saying its all good from the basic farmers breakfast for the non-adventurer, the not so basic granny sandwich, the oh, so this is how shrimp & grits is supposed to be served!, to the delectable ham & brie crepes. Dinner tapas plates must includes are the tapanade, the bacon wrapped stuffed figs, and the duck breast w/Grey Goose & Grand Marnier CHERRY sauce (incredible!)...and any fish or veggie on the menu. Dessert offerings are all good, but I like to go with another tapas plate of med-rare espresso beef or the sweet brie. I would be remiss in not mentioning that CHILL was my hands-down winner of BURGER Week 2015! Straight out of Chill Restaurants kitchen to my discriminating palette! I must RAVE that Chills Italian Burger is the absolute best tasting burger on my tour, made of Certified Angus Beef with prosciutto, smoked mozzarella & a sundried tomato aioli. Do yourself a favor & go get one!!! We have a NEW Best Burger in St Pete!

I am disappointed to share such a bad experience as we have been to Steam multiple times and had great experiences and we were waited on by the owner and her family who are wonderful and we wanted to check out Chill. Im not able to comment on the quality of the food though the menu had a great variety. We never had the opportunity to order as we were not greeted by a server even though we had been seated for over 10 Minutes. During this 10-12 Minute wait we observed the server shooting the breeze (nothing related to the tables order) with the booth directly behind ours. He never communicated that he would be right with us or even acknowledged our presence. After waiting roughly 12 minutes to be acknowledged I went up to the hostess stand to ask if we could get some service and though she saw me standing at the stand she continued chatting with another table for over 3 minutes. When I arrived back to the table my companions were amazed that in that amount of time no staff attempted to communicate or help me. Needless to say we left, wont go back and will be sure all of our contacts dont waste their time. Three of the four of us have either waited tables or managed restaurants and were shocked at the lack of communication, acknowledgement and service as we know the owner of the establishment would never operate in such a manner but apparently needs to do better screening when hiring to be sure staff meets her standards.

Chill is such a wonderful, multi-faceted place - were fortunate to have so close by! Chill brings a friendly, laid-back sophistication to beach living. It features outstanding small-plate dining, a warm and inviting vibe and great music. The restaurant is so much more than the sum of its parts - we dont go to Chill as much as we experience it! Its a bona fide local hangout with many, many good reasons! My guests are always impressed with their wine selection but will often find themselves gravitating to one of a number of sangrias available - always a great choice. The menu changes regularly and its always fun to discover what Chef Jackie has found for her guests. Im partial to the spicy blackberry shrimp cocktail but find it difficult to pass up the caprese salad, capaccio or Boeuf Bourguignon. Desserts are amazing, creme brulee being my favorite. My wife and I have slipped in for a quick bite after work, entertained family and friends and have hosted two company events there - never disappointed. My wife is from south Louisiana; when we were dating she taught me a french/spanish word - "lagniappe" meaning "a little something extra and not expected". That word and sentiment fits Chill to a tee. Laissez les bons temps rouler!

The two of us entered the establishment on Saturday, 5/11/13, looking forward to a great breakfast and left knowing we would never return or recommend to anyone. Carl, our waiter, was rude and arrogant. He set the tone of Ive got better things to do then wait on you! We had to ask for our coffee three times before we got it. Carl informed us that we might not get our order of toast because he had to make it and would have to look for the misplaced toaster. (Silly I know but he really said that and implied that the wait staff and kitchen staff did not get along.) Food, while tasty, took longer then expected to be served and was delivered luke warm. This leads me to believe it sat for a while because Carl was busy chatting to his buddies who were also there having breakfast. The toast did make it to the table but was cold. We watched two different couples be seated then get up and leave because no one bothered to wait on them. Overheard another waitress tell a table of customers that it had been very busy earlier but had now tapered off. One can only imagine what the service was like during that time. Not a favorable dining experience which is sad because it didnt have to be this way.

Our first trip to St Pete and so glad we stumbled onto Corey Ave. What a great little street with lots of great little shops with great items reasonably priced. We went on a Sunday (some Sundays they have a market in the middle of the street with great vendors. We went into Chill for brunch. They had a Bloody Mary bar where you served yourself and we could have made a meal of that. We sat out on the side walk area and had a wonderful breakfast. I had a Pina Cola waffle which was incredible. My wife had fruit crepes and home fries. Both were excellent and well priced. Waiter took excellent care of us and our food was served extremely fast and hot. Everyone around us had beautiful plates of food and as we ask everyone was giving it a high 5. There was also a guitarist which added to the atmosphere. We came back a few hours later for some awesome sangrias. Loved the place. Everything was excellent. You can tell the owners love what they do.

Breakfast, lunch or dinner. If you haven’t eaten at Steam & Chill you’re cheating yourself out of not just awesome food but a wonderful dining experience as well. Owner Ruthie couldnt be friendlier, she really makes you feel at home and always makes sure everything is to your satisfaction. Chef’s Steve, Paul & Jorge kick out unbelievable flavors, creativity and great presentations. Even when their bombarded with orders they always go the extra mile for that special requests with a smile. Chef Kyle’s desserts are so yummy even when you’re stuffed their hard to resist. All the servers are so friendly and attentive there’s no way to single one out. They all bend over backwards to make sure your dining experience is everything you want it to be. Lex & Andie Byers
