Last weekend my family and I decided to go to Conch House to celebrate my husbands birthday. From the start our waitress (Yadera) was "abrasive" in a rush and acting strange. My sister in law ordered a non-alcoholic smoothie. The waitress brought a half filled pineapple of a watered down orange liquid that looked like it was what you would see on a table AFTER the guests have left. It literally looked like it was someones leftover. I asked the waitress if we could speak to someone about it. I showed a mgr (male) what the drink looked like and he DID offer to replace the drink However, my sister in law felt grossed out by it and said she didnt want it and settled with water. No harm no foul, no confusion. The service was poor, everyone else received their food except myself, it finally comes out, again no harm no foul, no confusion. Meals over, waitress comes to my brother in law to ask if he wanted a to go box for his gator tail of which he only ate one. He says "no thanks" you can just dump that she asks did he not like it, he says no, it wasnt really good the meat was too tough. No harm no foul, no confusion. In the time frame of just going to the rest room, I come back to the table and a female manager is at our table going off. Apparently the waitress told her we wanted to take the gator tail (which there were 2 orders so why would we just want to remove one. IF thats what we were "trying to do") off the ticket which was NEVER our request. The manager comes to our family table saying, "OK FOLKS THIS IS WHAT WERE NOT GOING TO DO, IM ONTO THIS GAME YOURE PLAYING AND YOURE NOT GOING TO BE ORDERING FOOD, EAT IT AND THEN DECIDE YOU DONT LIKE IT AND WANT IT REMOVED" I swear everyone at our table and the surrounding guests was DUMB FOUNDED, we thought we were being punked at this point. First off, NO ONE asked for it to be removed she was told it was unsatisfactory and to just dump it. Secondly, We could not believe her behavior, our treatment and the UNPROFESSIONAL AND OFFENSIVE MANNER she was speaking to us and treating us. I tell her that her treatment, behavior and choice of words were unacceptable (she let us know she worked for the owner) really ??? EVERY employee in there works for the owner even the dish washer and no one should be treating customers in that way.) Shes going back and forth "word vomit" all around and tells me do I expect her to change her vocabulary and she speaks that way to everyone. Highly doubtful, I dont know whether she is racist or not but her being caucasion and us all being black would probably lead anyone with common sense in that direction. I find it hard to believe that all "folks" that come there would find that acceptable customer service or tolerate that treatment. Whether black, white, purple or green. Well at this point my husband pays the $100 tab plus an additional $100 dollars that we had already paid for drinks for a table of five. No one was drunk (do the math) and also had already paid for Reggae Sunday at $5 a person. Theres so much more to say but this in itself is bad enough. Other customers and employees were sincerely apologizing to us in utter disbelief of our treatment. My husband and I have been here regularly since 2010 and beyond the "battle royale" of drunken fools we usually have an ok time. NEVER AGAIN !!! Even funnier when were outside leaving the male manager had the nerve to come out and ask if we were leaving a tip. ARE YOU SERIOUS ?!? Gratuity is for SERVICE and that waitress did NONE and caused the entire incident. Since Monday I have been trying to contact an OWNER and no return contact has been made. Word of mouth is a powerful thing and social media even MORE POWERFUL. Sharing our nightmare experience should be a cautionary tale for future "folks" who may decide to spend their hard earned money here. Oh yeah and Happy Birthday to my Husband from the CONCH HOUSE, such a great celebration. Wouldnt you agree ...

It is with mixed emotion that I write this review. We love this place! Family came to town and we took them here for the great food, cocktails, and opportunity to dine dockside under a tiki hut. Though we were aware that dining with mother nature has its inherent risks, we decided to brave the elements and enjoy the beautiful St. Augustine day. Upon entering the Tiki, I looked up to see if there were any natives in the open raftered structure prior seating and saw none but did see a nest. Assuming it was empty, we sat and ordered. Drinks and appetizers came uneventfully and finally the main course, which is when the doves roosted over our heads became restless. The first sorti landed just inches from my plate. We saw it, laughed, and passed it off as bad luck and a consequence of dining in the elements. Sorti two missed its mark, but the third bombing hit the rim of my sons drink. The drink was replaced by the obviously embarrassed waitress who promised to inform management. Towards the end of our meal, the birds became very restless, preening and adding additional excrement to our table. We asked for our check and left. Prior to exiting, we paused by the exit and a manager passed by asking how our meal was. I opted for the high road and said " all was well, until we got pooped on" at which point the manager started chuckling and said "thats what happens when you eat outside". He also added that he had pressure washed the tikis three weeks ago and noticed the nest in there, but since the location is a bird sanctuary, he could not take it down. I pretty much just looked at him, turned and left without creating a scene in front of my visiting family. I was not upset that this had happened until I found out that management knew about this and did not shut the tiki down until the tenants vacated, if they could not be removed; placing mine and my families health at risk by possibly eating bird poo, had we not been paying attention. Tiki diner beware!!!

Lets see... waited 45 minutes to watch another party of two that walked in 15 min after my husband and I did. Finally got sat at a table that had been empty the entire time we were waiting. Ordered oysters for an appetizer to be told they are 30$ a dozen and not worth buying.. instead ordered fish dip and conch fritters.. upon arrival the fish dip was warm, and tasted nothing like fish rather a rich cream cheese.. sent back to kitchen and exchanged for peel and eat shrimp. Though good was nothing great and display was dissapointing. Conch fritters were in a puddle of grease but flavor was ok. My husband ordered Wahoo lightly blackened with mashed potatos, cauliflower and broccoli. As well as a Cesar side salad which was extra $$$ I ordered snow crab leg dinner.. upon arrival I received two clusters of snow crab legs on a plate with a plastic bowl of drawn butter in the middle. My side of broccoli and mashed potatoes was together in a small bowl.. broccoli was mush.. potatos were good. My husband received two tuna steaks over blackened and over cooked with broccoli (No cauliflower) and mashed potatos also in a bowl. Our good took 45 min to arrive at our table. As we were eating what was brought because at this point we invested 2 hours to dine... a second tray arrived at our table... snow crab leg dinner and Wahoo dinner.. to which the fish looked 100% different than what my husband received the first time ... this confirms the first plate was tuna. The young man that brought the tray took it to our waitress upon seeing our dirty plates on the table. All and all thisbwas a waste of time. Better quality of food and better presentation at red lobster. This place is a tourist trap. For a real florida seafood experience do not go here. The manager apologized however and have gave us each a free desert and took some $$$ off the Bill it dosent take back for my time wasted !!
