If there is a 0 I honestly think they are deserving of it. I think the owner requires for every waitress to be rude, have no customer service skills, and have no manners at all. We made a reservation and as soon as we walked in the owner says ok I will be right with you to sit you down and we waited 20 mins for nothing because he never came back. Then another waitress comes and sits us down, takes our drink orders but doesnt bring it until another 15 minutes after. One of the other waitress was serving food for the table next to us, shoved herself into a tight spot pushing a chair onto our table and pushed the chair leg onto my husbands leg and scratched him. Of course no apologies were given. Then our server came back with our drinks gives it to us by hands instead of onto the table (while I have my baby in my arms) we proceeded to order and I mention to her it is my dads birthday in hopes they would do something like sing to him or something, and she completely ignored it. We ordered a pitcher of sangria and she comes back with it with three empty glasses that she held in one hand with her fingers right on the rims of the glasses. Another 15-20 minutes into our order the server comes back and says they dont have arroz con gandules and if we can change our order. First of all, how does a Puerto Rican restaurant run out of arroz con gandules. Second of all, if they didnt have it, why wait 20 minutes for us to change our order. They should have told us right away. Our food came, cold, the mofongo was dry, the pork super salty. My husband ordered a cubed steak and got regular steak. My kids ordered grilled cheese and got the palest grilled cheese Ive ever seen in my life. It looked like they toasted the bread with no butter and slapped a slice of cheese in between and served it. My kids didnt eat any of it. My son accidentally knocks over a glass and breaks it. Noone came to help us. Every single server (at least five of them) standing three feet from us, looked at the broken glass and didnt do anything. My dad had to wipe the table, picked up the pieces of broken glass on the floor and table and cleaned it all up. I think for liability they should have come right away at least to assist especially since we had kids with us. We then remembered spending Christmas eve here. Took our reservations for 7pm for dinner, they didnt serve food until 9pm. No exaggeration. We were asking for salsa and chips and drinks for our kids at least and they ignored us. Didnt serve the buffet until two hours after. They should never have take a reservation so early if they planned to open the buffet that late. We had such a horrible experience between the rude owner and the servers then. But we give everything a second chance and found ourselves yet again, extremely disappointed. I dont know if its because we had little kids (our kids are very well behaved) with us. If that, they shouldnt advertise themselves as a family restaurant. Our bill was over $100 dollars both times. We spent a good amount of time and money in a place to have time with family and both times have been horrible. Honestly, if the owner had some sense he would invest in taking classes for himself and his staff about customer service. They would really benefit from that. We are good, respectful customers that just want some good food. Caveat for everyone looking for real authentic and GOOD puerto rican food served by people who love what they do and their customers, dont come here. Go to mofongo king. The owner is nice. Spends time to talk to customers and has a smile on his face. And the food is actually good. This goes to show you, you dont need the fancy setting. All you need is real good food, good people, and beautiful music as a bonus.

Was excited for a PR restaurant in the area but disappointed each time. First and foremost, consistency is key! They seem to lack consistency which can happen when you have a high turnover rate for cooks. It seems as if the owners have focused their time and attention on decor and entertainment and not on the most important aspect of a restaurant which is consistently good, flavorful and fresh food. Ive had meals that completely lacked flavor, rice that was very much undercooked rice (immediate loss of appetite), coffee mug with lipstick prints all around the rim and overcooked and dry meat. If you are not familiar with Puerto Rican food and how flavorful and delicious it usually is, you may be somewhat pleased by the experience but as a Puerto Rican myself, I cant give them anymore chances. Ive gone several times because I believe it can take a while for a restaurant to get into its groove and I believe in supporting local businesses, but I simply lost hope that Rustico will evolve into a truly good place to eat. I would strongly recommend a complete overhaul when it comes to the menu and kitchen operations and after being open for the time it has so far, Im not sure that will happen (unfortunately).

My waitress was very nice but my food was horrible. I got steak with onions with white rice and red beans. Let me start off by saying my wife is 100% Puerto Rican.... the food that I got was not cooked by a Authentic Puerto Rican. My steak had no flavor not even salt n pepper plus it was burned. Let me not get started with the beans. They tasted like the beans with sauce that you buy at walmart. I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. My wifes food was good but than its hard not to do chicken chunks right.my wife asked for 4 guava pastries and when she got them they were all hard and burned around the ends, but the worst part is when our waitress told the gentleman that was at the cash register what happen he gave us a dirty look. What happened to the days when you had a problem with your food and the manager/owner comes and apologize for the inconvenience.I WILL NEVER RETURN........

Ive been going to this place since it opened. I loved their lunch specials. They started a new dinner menu/ times and I took my wife there..... lets just say I could have been better off going to a fast food restaurant. The amount of money we paid for this "meal" was astronomical. I thought to myself "20+ dollars per plate! It must be good! Our order was based on the meat that came with the meal. We were excited to see the full potential the restaurant had because we were so impressed by the lunch. Boy, what a waste of evening and babysitting money! The meals we received were 97 percent plantains (mofongo style) and very, very little meat. What a ripoff....plantains are a dime a dozen....from what we paid for this meal, I expected to take home at least a plantain tree home or two. I am so disappointed that I will not be going back...not even for lunch!
