We were super excited with the opening of a new local restaurant and after learning that the owners were Italian, with this being their first restaurant in the US, made it equally exciting. We visited on a Thursday evening 3/16/2016 and entered a warm and welcoming environment. It was obvious from the start of both the owners presence and were seated by Alexander. We loved the decor and surroundings and enjoyed sitting in a booth. The weather was too cold to sit outside. We received a glass carafe of water and my husband drank bottled Stella Artois and I had a bottle of Prosecco. We ordered the Brushchetta and meatballs to start and loved them both. The meatballs were sent out cold but this was quickly corrected and they were worth it. Both appetizers were large in portion. My husbands favorite dish is lasagne and since living in America these past four years he has not been able to find one that compared to any he has had over in Europe. However that was until now. The lasagne we thought was to die for. We absolutely loved it. It was slightly cold in the middle but this did not detract from the exquisite taste. Very authentic. We also had a side salad and the portions were of a generous size and I gave half of mine to my husband. We wanted the whole experience so ordered dessert too. I had the pana cota which was not as good as I had expected. A bit too heavy with a rubbery film on top. Ive had this many times in the past and it has been a lot lighter however my husband had the strawberry puff pastry which oh my gosh was to die for. I will definitely be having that next time. We chatted briefly with Alexander before we left feeling excited that this is now in our neighborhood and loved the whole dinning experience. A bit of tweaking s required with the temperatures of the food but this will definitely be a regular place we will dine at and we cannot wait to return.......we loved it.

People Italian Restaurant has only been open for about 3 weeks and is already the rave of Palmetto and Bradenton. The service, atmosphere and food are all top notch and authentic Italian. The restaurant has been remodeled to look like a cute Italian home with wrap around porches, black and white drapes and white sparkly lights.. There are outside heaters for chilly nights. My husband and I had dinner there last night and chose to sit outside on the porch. It is only 1 block from the waterfront. Even though they were busy with the crowds from the Bradenton Power Boat Regatta, we were quickly seated. Our waiter came immediately to take our drink order and brought a glass carafe of water so we can pour our own water as needed. Nice touch. The bread is home made, dense and delicious. We ordered the roasted calamari with vegetables and the lobster ravioli with shrimp as main courses. The portions were large, nicely presented and they were both outstanding! The sauce for the ravioli was light and flavorful and it was the best calamari Ive had at any restaurant! For desert we had the home made tiramisu. A huge portion that can easily be shared by 4. Prices were low, especially for this quality of food. Well be back!

Tried this restaurant last week, one of us got the eggplant, two had the lasagna. The eggplant I was told was good but, the portion was very small and, you got nothing but the lasagna, the lasagna should have been listed as cheese lasagna, if there was any meat I couldnt find it, nor was there any red sauce to be found. You got bread with these meals, salad would be $7. for a small one, the bread looked home made but, NO taste, we only ate it because there was little else to eat without running up a large bill. We had water, (small glass) all our glasses were dry through most of the meal, only one couple at another table, nobody refilled our glasses. The waiter (might have been the owner, wore low cut jeans and a short shirt, every time he reached across a table we get a 4" butt crack show. We left disappointed and hungry, we wont be back.

OMG! What a surprise! If you were ever wondering how much a location which was and ice cream parlor could change . . . go try People! The food preparation is great, the service is excellent, the menu is just right, and the atmosphere is wonderful. It feels like an upscale neighborhood café in NYC or LA. Not cheap but excellent value for what you get. We tried several dishes, visited twice, and have now put it on our "go to" dining list!

I had been hoping for better. Got off to a bad start with lousy bread served cold and stale. My husband enjoyed his spaghetti and marinara sauce. I didnt care for the sauce, too bland. My mushroom ravioli and cream sauce was excellent. We shared the tiramisu. It wasnt the traditional but made with strawberries and was very good. We will go back to try the pizza. Service was fine. But..... they need to fix the bread!!

They had all the doors and windows open and it was like 85 outside. We were 1 of 3 parties in the place and it took 20 minutes to come over and give us water. They either didnt have or didnt ask if we wanted something different. I ordered an appetizer and the waiter never put it in. Food took forever to come out. My lasagna as well as my friends was cold in the middle. The flavor was equal to chef boy are d.

Wonderful evening. Was served by the two owners. My husband and I shared the funghi pizza and seafood pasta. Dough was so light and tasty. The seafood pasta was awesome. El dente noodles and authentic sauce. A few of our mussels hadnt opened so the owner brought us an extra bowl of mussels. The atmosphere is casual, homey and bright! We completed the meal with homemade tirmisu!!

I lived in Italy for 5 years and every Italian restaurant Ive been to just didnt feel authentic. Then I went to People. It truly is authentic Italian from the decor, the waiters the food, and the menu. I ate well spoke in Italian and had a wonderful time, felt like I was back in Italy. Will be back and bring a hot date (my wife). All I can say is delizioso!

I have been coming to this location for a long time, and I have seen this place evolve in all aspects. I really like their authentic Italian cuisine, the remodels they have done, and their incredible Pizza. Their new and complete wine list makes the experience even better. Keep it up, guys!!!

Had an amazing dinner at the new Itialian restaurant called People. It is so rare for me to add nothing to my meal(Salt etc...). The food was prepared perfectly and with such amazing flavor. The owner was warm and inviting, I am looking forward to returning very soon.
