Bad first impression!! This was my very first time visiting Cafe Madrid and it will be my last. I have been living on Conway for 2 years now and just noticed this cute little cafe tucked away in the corner on Curry Ford and Conway so I decided to stop by today since the pictures look really great and the reviews seemed good as well. Im not sure how they have maintained a 4.5 rating because the customer service was awful in the food was even worse. As soon as I walked in I didnt even have a chance to sit down and a lady asked me what I wanted to drink I asked her for a moment to look at the menu since I had never been here before and then I told her that I wanted a cola Champaign. The lady brought me out some bread in a basket as well as so called salad which was two pieces of lettuce and a slice of tomato on top with some dressing. I ordered their pork chop meal with yellow rice and black beans. She brought me out the pork chop with yellow rice but no beans and after all my food had been delivered I was still waiting on my drink! So I asked her again and she brought me the can of soda. The pork chops were rubbery like they have been pre cooked earlier and now reheated. After I told her that I couldnt eat the pork chops after only taking 1 bite..i told her I just wanted to pay my bill so I can leave she grabbed my plates with an attitude and brought me back over the checl would she charge me $5.25 for the bread and the so-called salad. No apology and no offer to remake the food just service with an attitude smh. The worst part is they were not even busy it was just me and the two waitresses, one that didnt even speak any English

Delicioso!!! So to surprise me for Valentines Day (and Im pretty sure to fulfill my craving for croquetas) my boyfriend brought me to Cafe Madrid. I was sort of leery considering "Madrid" is in the name of the place while i was expecting straight up Cuban food, BUT boy am I glad he brought me here. I had an amazing shrimp al ajillo with white rice black beans a salad and a side of maduros YUMMMMY lol. My boyfriend had arroz con gandules with carne guisada and of course he had some of my food because it was soooooo good. We also shared an appetizer of ham croquetas. For dessert i decided to try the tres leches per our servers suggestion and as much as i dislike wet cakes i LOVEDDDD Cafe Madrids!!!! Perfect portions and good price....You should just stop reading, go, and check it out for yourself... :)

The food is fantastic. I have lived by this place for years and always finding myself wanting to go back for more. I have had many items on the menu and loved all of them. The ropa vieja is wonderful. Very flavorful and for the one who havent tried something like this before, I would say it is similar to a roast in a tomato based sauce, great flavor combination and of course, complimentary to the massive amount of the rest of the dinner: rice, black beans, salad (homemade dressing unlike any other!) My favorite meal is the fish. you can ask them what they have fresh and they will cook to your liking. The staff has been great when I come in the restaurant, even when my young one destroyed our section with his rice throwing skills. They have sandwiches and fries too!

This place is beyond delicious and has fantastic prices. I dined with a friend at lunchtime and while many tables were full, the service was pretty fast and the food was top notch. We split the chicken croquettes and aside from them being scorching hot, they were delicious. I had the pork which was so tender, it fell off the fork. Accompanied by tostones (but no garlic oil, sadly) and rice, it was the best meal I have had in Orlando in a while. Id definitely return! For ambiance, its not fancy but wouldnt be a bad place for a casual dinner.

They catered a fundraiser I went to last night and the food was excellent. We had ropa vieja, arroz con pollo, frijoles negros con arroz, a lovely salad and sweet plantains plus pineapple upside down cake for dessert. The staff was very pleasant to everyone and not only served but cleaned up too and offered leftovers in containers to anyone who wanted them. I highly recommend them.

Seriously...this is the BEST spanish food I have ever had! I cannot say enough good things. I ordered a beef patty with stuffed sausage in the middle with a red sauce on top. Accompanied by yellow rice, red beans, salad with homemade house dressing, sweet plantains AND garlic bread on the side. All for $7. I may have to start going more often because this was insanely good.

I love the ambiance in this place. Dim, quiet with low music playing in the background. Great for a date night. The prices are fair, and the food is good. My favorite so far is the mofongo. Must try if its your first time! And I always, always ask for a Cuban coffee (cortadito). The service is also great here. I never wait long and the servers are friendly. Highly recommend!

I got food poisoning from the Lobster Dr. Suarez plate I noticed an Ammonia smell when I was half way through eating it which means its going bad and it was only half a tail for $21 plate and my wifes NY Strip Steak was beaten flat and over cooked when my wife asked for it to be rare! The side were really good but the main courses were a total loss so we wont be going back!

Portions was good but thats it. Being Cuban and missing Miamis food my husband and I try plenty of Cuban placeses. The beans are watery, the meat flavorless. I guess if you have never tried Cuban food before you might like it but when you have tasted great Cuban food this is the worst. Try old Cuban café on goldenrod. its the best so far in the Orlando area

My fiancee and I come here at least every month; cant comment on most of the menu, since we usually go for the chicken parm (different from what youre thinking, and better) and the chicken or steak "salteado." Highly recommend. For those in the program, you can also get United Mileage Plus benefits for eating here.

I go to lunch here from time to time on Fridays with my co-workers. Been going for about 3 years now and I have yet to have a bad experience or bad meal. It is so good! Plus, you cant beat the bang for your buck. What a feast and so delicious. Keep up the good work!

A good gem in inside Orlando. Food is great, service is good the girls are very kind and always checking on you. Food very well prepared, all kind of different menus. Cant say anything wrong about this place. Very well recommended, everyone should try it.
