Preface: Lest we forget How "Ole School Publixes" were, I thought Id dig into the archives and post this review PRIOR to this Publix recieving its current facelift (body-lift / major nip/tuck, frankly). So - again - this is a 2015 review of this store. It now looks like all the other bright-n-shiny ones, so Ill leave current observations to other folks: June 2015 Bottom Line: This is what Ill dub a "Heritage Publix" as it was here when I first moved to Naples in 1983. The reason Im reviewing it is because I checked in while there earlier this year and rather than cancelling out the review request, I thought it would certainly merit a write-up, ESPECIALLY given that SWF now has its own Yelp Community Ambassador! Anyway, - This particular Publix previously had a strong "ole-school" (read circa 1970s) appeal. The recent renovations went to great lengths to modernize this store, installing ALL the modern Publix amenities (customer service island, wine racks, etc.) its in the strip mall that Golden Gate Parkway T-bones into. During rain season, expect the lot to be flooded. Ive claimed Naples as my primary residence from 1983 through 2002 (albeit with a 3-year stint in Seattle from 96-98 and with both undergrad and grad @ FSU prior to that) and therefore also claim to know this Publix intimately. Ive watched it grow from the humble Publix that it was to the burgeoning Publix that it is today. (heres my moment for tangential information: My FIRST job in the U.S. (we lived abroad from 1969-1982) was at the Publix at the corner of the East Trail and Kelly Road (oh, sure, you all know Kelly Road as the uppity-named "Bayshore Drive" - but I assure you, once Kelly Road, always Kelly Road) and there I worked in the produce department for ONE day (6AM to 2PM) effectively bundling bananas. All I knew at the end of that shift was that I wasnt coming back to Publix for a 2nd day bundling bananas.)) Back to this review - this Publix, as you would expect, has a decent "International Aisle" which, contrary to Publixs across the more authentic parts of Florida, reflects a decent percentage of German and UK foodstuffs. Additionally, this Publix has to content with Wynns, just down the street. Ill just say this: Wynns has AWESOME chopped liver - chopped liver they produce on location. This Publix? - no chopped liver. No chopped liver they produce on location. Anyway - if you happen to be at the point where The Parkway T-Bones into 41, just go ahead and pop into Publix.

The most unkept Publix I have ever shopped. Salad bar is filthy, same with dinner entree bar. Walk up to it and loose your appetite. Employees slicing deli meats are in a fog. Seldom get what you ask for. Latest was i asked for half inch thick cuts of liverwurst between sheets of wrap. My husband went back to counter as we shopped to get it because they were so slow. When we got home we had 2 lbs of mush. It had been cut paper thin with no wax paper between slices. A blob of liver mush. We had to make into pate instead of what the chef had planned as appetizer for 20 guest. Do not buy on sale items. Pineapple peeled and cored this week was stale and had been cut when green . No flavor execpt an odd sour taste. Do not get in the way of anyone stocking. I was repremanded by a man who barely spoke english that i was in his way!! Stay clear of the water aisle if he is on it. Whats the saddest part. Go to customer service and they are kind and sweet and tell you " you are right we deal with this daily." Seriously !!!! We will be put out by having to go furture from home to shop groceries. It will not be a publix !

A larger Publix with a wider selection not found in smaller stores of this chain. High quality standards as usual. Excellent fresh produce/fruit section, feels like my stomach died and went to Paradise. The organic fruit is the best! Decent basic offerings of organic groceries, vegetarian, and vegan foods. Frozen section also has decent ethnic and health food offerings at fair prices- less costly than the specialty health food stores. Gluten free offerings, but got to hunt for them. Nice bulk -by the pound- dry goods section not found in other area Publix stores: i.e, dried fruits, nuts, granola, etc. Bakery dept. always looks good, people behind the counter were cheerful (at least the days Im there). Sports bars, protein drinks, & vitamin, & beauty section great selection. Odd n ends non-grocery items here as usual: Florida stuff for tourists, picnic goods. My mom even found one of those salt lamp things everyone seems to be getting. Great people here...an employee went out of her way to see if I needed help finding something.

The deli people here are some of the worst. Only about 3 - 4 are very good. The rest drag their feet. Are not cognitive of their duties. I witnessed them horseplay and chat while customers are waiting. The deli manager tries her best but maybe has her hands tied due to publix rules. Either way, no business from me anymore. The store manager does not have a grip on this location and maybe because he is new. I have seen them sell milk that was outdated by 3-5 days. Common specialty items that were normally stocked and sold are no longer stocked. Price labels on the shelves, if they exist, often do not reflect the product stocked. Shame. Used to be a great store. If I see the conditions change I shall update this review. Until then, it remains posted.

Riesiger Supermarkt, in dem man quasi alles bekommt. Nicht mit deutschen Märkten zu vergleichen. Trotz der Größe und den vielen Kunden ist das Personal hier äußerst entspannt, gelassen und freundlich!

The worst publix deli Ive ever been to. She didnt offer boars head or publix just making whatever She wanted. They ran out of white bread and wouldnt even consider an alternative. We asked for our subs to be in a plastic bag explaining we didnt want them getting soggy in a cooler, that was a blatant no.

Hated it. Called 30 mins to order a HOT sub. Went in I couldnt find it. Instead of having it on the wArmer they had put it on the cold section. RIDICULOUS. The short lady with glasses was RUDE!! And on top of that the store number when searching this publix is wrong.

This Publix WILL NOT cash any payroll checks. Apparently they would rather you cash a handwritten check to yourself before they would cash a legitimate payroll check from a reputable million dollar company.
