Miami certainly isn’t lacking in Peruvian restaurants, but in this town we’re always happy to have a delicious newcomer enter the scene. Behold 1111 Peruvian Bistro, the cozy Brickell restaurant that’s quickly becoming a go-to for fresh and creative Peruvian cuisine. Manning the kitchen is el Bulli and Astrid y Gaston alum, Diego Munoz, who is one of the chefs that is credited for putting Peruvian cuisine on the international map. He told us he splits his time between 1111 and his other restaurants, but expect him in the kitchen quite a bit and guests can see his touches throughout the menu highlighting innovative dishes with a contemporary fusion of Peruvian and Asian influence. We began the meal with some light and refreshing crudos, ceviches and small bites including the Hamachi Tiradito, with lemongrass, coconut, viet-mint oil; Ceviche de Puerto made with white fish, octopus, rocoto, calamari; and Ceviche Apaltado made with fish, creamy leche de tigre, avocado, aji limo, capers, olive oil; along with crab hoisin and pulpo al olivo filled gunkan. The standout amongst the table however was the perfectly cooked salt and pepper Fried Calamari, that was seasoned so well it didn’t need a splash of lemon or dipping sauce in order to be devoured. Heartier entrees were next with plenty of familiar Peruvian dishes making its way onto the menu like a Lomo Saltado taken up a few notches being created with filet mignon along with the traditional potatoes and pilaf rice; the Pan Seared Chicken Breast with toasted grains, chives and mascarpone was a unique take on a classic chicken dish and the crispy Fish Cutlet topped with peanut curry, green Asian vegetables and white chaufa. We finished the meal on a sweet note with the beautifully presented Chocolate Temperatures dessert with chocolate coming in several different forms. An extensive wine and beer variety rounds out the menu, but we’re partial to Cusqueña beer for our Peruvian meal pairings.

Amazing food thats artfully prepared - clearly the chef goes shopping for fresh ingredients every morning - especially the seafood. The balance of flavors in the ceviche is perfect as is the modern presentation. We were a party of four and shared a combination of starters and entrees - what a great choice! Everyone was thrilled with the food. They have several beer options on tap, even more in bottles, and an extensive wine list. The atmosphere is bright and fun with indoor bar and table service as well as outdoor seating. Theres a sizeable lcd tv in the bar area that soundlessly shows a soccer (futbol ⚽️) match (but which they switched to baseball or hockey upon request). The staff is very friendly and professional - immaculate in appearance as well as pleasant and knowledgeable in multiple languages while simultaneously being attentive and discrete. A great experience!

Came here on honeymoon. They have amazing food, the suggestions were wonderful. I had scallops served on a seashell as an appetizer, I think it was the first on the list. My main course was a fish with octopus, muscles, and shrimp in a red sauce accompanied by cilantro rice with pinenuts served inside a banana leaf bowl. for dessert my husband and I shared the white chocolate bomb- its ice cream with whipped cream and fruit with chocolate nibs inside of a chocolate dome that the server cracked in front of us. Very professional, authentic food. Quiet, clean, extremely upscale. I found out the chef is top 10 in the world and second in Peru. So honored to have had this experience

This Asian-inspired Peruvian restaurant stands out in Miami for its top-quality ingredients and the way they are presented. The menu was made by Diego Muñoz, who has also worked in Astrid y Gaston’s team, and is currently a nomad chef that goes around the world collaborating with local chefs. This is definitely a place for those who want to be adventurous, try new flavors and unique dishes. Dont forget to try La Cachanga (a dessert), and why not, some Peruvian wine.

Very delicious food and a friendly staff. Unfortunately, it takes a long time for the food to be served as there are too few chefs in the kitchen.
