I used to love this place!! Unfortunately the last 3 times we have tried to have dinner the service has steadily gotten worse. Todays experience was completely terrible. Like always the place was full so I walked in and asked for table for three and let the hostess get both my first, last name and even my phone number to get a text once my table was ready. I was informed 15 to 20 minutes which we were cool with waiting. 30 minutes later I walk in to check and i was informed they had given my table to another John but we would be seated at the next available table..... When we do finally get a table since we always go for the pad Thai and kimchi fried rice we ordered as we were seated. Unfortunately we ended up with a waitress I believe by the name of Alysa that did a wonderful job of ignoring us most of the 45 minutes we were seated waiting for our food. Eventually the two orders of pad thai come out but the rice took another 14 minutes to come out and only after i asked another waitress to check in on it for us. Throughout the entire hour plus that we sat waiting for our food and eating never once was the waitress attentive enough to refill our glasses. To add insult to injury she even tried charging a beer to my tab which by this time i wished i had ordered but didnt. The only reason it isnt a 1 star review is because the place does make some phenomenal food. It is usually well worth the wait to enjoy the little plates. Unfortunately with this service I dont believe we will be back. Next time were in Orlando well enjoy the good service along with the great food they have at that location.

Hawkers is one of my favorite restaurants in Riverside. It is everything I like about the area. Its hip, different and lively with incredible food! There seriously isnt a single thing on the menu that I have tried and not liked (and Ive tried most of their menu)! While Hawkers has larger noodle and rice plates, in my opinion the hero of their menu are their small plates (the thought of which is making my mouth water as I type). I usually pick out a few to recommend but I cant, simply because they are all that good. I also seriously love their pad thai. Once thing to keep in mind when coming here is that much of their menu is at least mildly spicy, and some things go toward very spicy. I love that about them but for those with delicate palates, you might not be as happy as I am. My only singular complaint about this place is that the restaurant is very very loud all the time. So loud in fact that you really cant hear anyone around you talking which seriously takes away from the dining experience. Otherwise, Hawkers is one of the best restaurants in Riverside and probably one of the best in the city! Go there. Seriously.

I think our server forgot to put our order in...and even then, our food came out at three separate times for three separate items. Two of our items, both of which were soup, one being the Tom Yum and the other one, the Ramen noodles...are you kidding me? Our server kept apologizing, we asked him why we hadnt seen the manager at which time he asked did we want to speak to the manager... absolutely not, if the manager was not already involved or interested in coming to explain to us why we were waiting for dinner for over an hour for appetizers. Additionally, the concept of dropping off food one item at a time is a fail (its not like youre a new restaurant). That is poor time management and makes for guests food getting cold because they are waiting for their family or friends food to arrive as well. As well as in our case, the first two items to arrive were mine and not the other persons at the table. You are basically serving appetizers, get it together. Sadly, this is my favorite type of cuisine and I like your food, but this is the last straw, as these types of service fails are consistent with previous visits.

Im so embarrassed after going here. We usually have a great time at this place and the food is always delicious but tonight we had unexpectedly terrible service for hawkers. Weve been talking this place up to my sister and her boyfriend for the past few weeks and were so excited to bring them to one of our favorite places but we ended up having the worst experience. Not only were they out of a lot of things, our waitress was awful. We didnt get our drinks until most of our meal was already finished & when they finally came she slammed them on our table and was extremely sassy and short with us the entire time. We wont be sharing this place anymore. The food was great as always, but tonight we should have gotten it to go. Update 8/20/2015- We were contacted by management who was concerned about our bad experience. They invited us back and we took them up on it last night. The service was excellent and the food was amazing, it made a perfect date night! Thank you Hawkers for giving us a wonderful time! Well definitely be back.

This is officially my favorite restaurant! We love to take people here because we know that its always going to be great! Not only is the food delicious and unlike anywhere else the service is phenomenal. We have never had a server who didnt know the menu or have a suggestion. The service is always fast and everyone helps each other clear plates, refill drinks, etc. Which is important in a fast paced restaurant such as this. What we like to do is pretty much let the server choose for us, we have a few favorites that we like to throw in but these servers really know whats good. If its just me and my boyfriend well get a few small plates and two entrées and share it all. When were telling our friends we describe it as family style. Be prepared to share and try a lot of different things. The food is prepared fresh and there isnt any hot plates so everything comes out at different times, which I love. Its like a constant feast. The atmosphere is laid back and trendy. This isnt just a restaurant its an experience.

I went with my cousin; who has the least adventurous palette (seriously it fried fish and cheeseburgers all day!) Knowing that it would be busy (since it was Saturday night) I called ahead two hours and held a table for 9pm. I was seated at around 9:05 and our waiter was AMAZING! He was very knowledgeable and made some wonderful recommendations that pleased even my cousins reserved tastes. We ordered 5 small dishes including the roasted duck and the cod in black bean sauce. Plus my cousin ordered the udon noodles. my only complaint was that they only served wine, beer and sake; no cocktails or mixed drinks. This was a bummer because we were hoping for a few drinks with our meal. The atmosphere was fun and hip and the service was on point. As soon as we tasted one dish another was shipped out keeping the different tastes and spices flowing. Overall felt that the food was moderately priced ($49 for two people having six dishes, two IPOs and a lemonade) and wonderfully cooked. 10 all around!
