We were in the mood for sushi and were happy to find a place in Homestead that 1.) let you order online and 2.) offered delivery! We placed our order online around 6pm and waited about 1/2 hour before deciding we should call the restaurant to make sure they received our order ($31.54) since we never received an email confirmation. We called the restaurant and were told that "something is happening and we arent delivering tonight." We then asked if we could pick up our order and they said yes, it would be ready in 20 minutes, which would be around 6:50pm. We waited about 10-15 minutes before leaving then drove to the restaurant which allowed another 15 minutes to prepare our order. We got to Sake Thai & Sushi at 7:20 (per our credit card receipt) and paid for our order. I asked why they were not delivering tonight and I was told that their driver moved out of state so there was a "situation" about deliveries. Not sure why they havent replaced their driver and wasnt offered any additional explanation. I was told to have a seat and that my order would be out in a few minutes. After an additional 1/2 hour after waiting for my food I finally stood up and went to the hostess stand to ask for my money back - the service and long wait was beyond bad at this point and I was ready to go home. From the time I ordered online to this time had been almost 2 hours. I waited for 5 minutes for the hostess to come back (she had been gone for quite a while at this point) and when she did she (finally) had my order. This was my first time ordering from Sake Thai and Sushi Bar and I must say that I definitely wont be back. Why did it take 2 hours to make a Mexicano Roll, Fire Cracker Roll and a bowl of Tom Yum Kai soup? Its sushi... its not like you actually have to cook it. Why were we never called to let us know the food we ordered online would never be arriving at our door? When we ordered online we should have AT LEAST received a phone call from the restaurant letting us know that they were not delivering... they received our online order and did nothing! When we finally arrived home to eat we were not at all surprised that the food was mediocre at best - not sure which was worse - our ordering experience or the sushi. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else... this is 2 hours plus out of my life, $31.54 and what could have been a good meal that I wont be getting back. Heed my warning and dont make the same mistake.

We came across this restaurant as we were making our way down to the keys for the weekend. It was Friday night and the place was packed. We decided to have some drinks by their sushi bar while waiting for a booth to open up and decided to stay there for our meal because the sushi chefs were surprisingly friendly. I stuck to the traditional hot sake but my wife tried their lychee sake-martini and she loved it. For dinner we went with duck curry and the sushi boat-for-one. Everything was fresh and tasty. I am Asian and I will tell you that their duck was perfect. Crispy duck in a rich creamy spicy curry sauce over jasmine rice. The wife took care of her boat all on her own. We wrapped up the meal with lychee sherbet because we just cant resist anything with lychee in it. The service was impressive considering how busy they were. Glad we came across this place because its not too far of a drive from home in Kendall. We will definitely be back on a regular basis.

I called at 9:28pm to order for take out and the kid over the phone said the restaurant was closed. Funny thing is we were parked outside the parking lot and walked in seconds after, and were seated for dinner.. The waitress seemed nice. However we didnt even receive any drinks throughout our entire meal.. No water... Ordered the miami Heat roll because I was craving some kind of tempura with cream cheese with a kick to it, yet the roll came back with NO cheese... Why would your menu advertise sushi made a particular way, then a different way made comes to your table. Im disappointed and expected so much more from this place.. And I must add I just received the bill without being asked if I wanted dessert.. And the bill had the tip section circled like implying 20% tip required . How will I tip such a horrible service?!?!

While the food is good, the service is below standards. I made an order and asked for a specific item and apparently there are multiple choices with the item and the order was confirmed to me with the wrong item. When we called the restaurant they said that I confirmed the order and that was that. I have ordered from them on many occasions and it appears that the people taking the order make up their own mind and do not make sure that the order was correct and will have nothing to do with the customer. They were very rude on the phone and they have lost a customer for life, they do not care! The customer is not always right!

I live in Miami and make the drive down here at least twice a month for the food! This hidden gem is family run by Thai people so you know youre getting some authentic Asian cuisine. I also like that they include some fusion food for those who are not as familiar with traditional Thai/Japanese cuisine. There is something here for everyone. Some personal favorites are volcano fish, lobster boom roll, pad wood sen, and salmon skin salad to name a few. Definitely a must try if you live in the area or driving by (its right off the Turnpike, which makes it convenient for me).

My wife and I had dinner at Sake Thai & Sushi Bar one night while staying at the nearby Hampton Inn. The food and service were very good. Our waitress was very friendly and took great care of us. I love Thai food and the Chicken Cashew dish did not disappoint. The waitress offered to add some spice to it and it was just perfect. My wife wasnt really hungry so she just got a dessert and said it was delicious - she didnt save any for me, so it must have been good. I would definitely eat here again if Im in Homstead again.

We used to come to this place all the time for their great sushi and rewards program, which gave you $10 for every $100 you spent there, and we spent A LOT there. However, they must have changed management or something, because things have gone downhill in the past year. The menu changed, they did away with the rewards program, and even the sake and sushi quality seemed to go down. Now we never go there, and just head down to the keys for our sushi. Such a shame, because this place was convenient and good...

Ive been to many sushi restaurants before, but this one has definitely been one of the best so far. Great quality food. Great amount of pieces per roll. But even better was the service. The staff was exceptionally great and personable. I wish I had gotten all their names, but the girl at the front desk tonight was the definition of great hospitality. Same goes for our server tonight who accommodated our needs very well. They all seemed like such a nice bunch. Will most definitely be coming back often!
