Good place for coffee but if youre buying cookies you should be more selective. We bought the Chocolate Espresso Chew and the Peanut Butter Cookie. The Chocolate Espresso Chew was a delicious cookie. It was soft and gooey on the inside but chewy and slightly crispy on the outside layers of the cookie. The peanut butter cookie on the other hand was a bit dry and crumbly. More like a sugar cookie. I do admit that the cookie sizes are quite impressive though. They are quite large. Overall, okay. Definitely some hidden gems here.

This local bakery is staple of Dupont Circle. It shows that in a commercialized world again power house coffee house with the mermaid independent shops can still survive. Id rather go here anyway. The variety of baked good and coffee. Friendly neighborhood service. The adjacent restaurant is a popular brunch place. Youll see people milling around waiting. While it doesnt have a lot of seating, on a nice day there is plenty in the park right up the street.

I bought cupcakes for a work colleagues birthday on a Monday lunchtime. They were dry, and tasted old and stale. The one I bit into had cream cheese or something similar inside it and it had turned sour. I returned them a few hours later and had a bit of problem with getting my money back because the manager was not there. I went back today and got back my voided receipt.

This coffeeshop is basically a glorified Starbucks. The coffee is a little bit better and theres a bit more variety in the pastries, but for a place more expensive than Starbucks, I expect something better. Although they provided pretty fast service on Inauguration Day, which is commendable, overall, its not worth the wait if theres a Starbucks around the corner.

I honestly LOVE Firehook Bakery. The pastries and food items here are delicious and taste fresh. The paninis are also pretty good. While it can be expensive, its typical for a boutique style bakery in the city. The drawback to this particular location is extremely limited seating. The Firehook on Connecticut Avenue has a nice outdoor patio which is far nicer.

Great coffee and iced cookies.... Always have festive cookies for the seasons and upcoming holidays. They actually carry Kings Cake for Mardi Gras (with the baby, bead necklace and crown). A bit expensive for a chain but it has the feel of a small town bakery with good coffee. Open late on weekdays which is great for a sugar fix in winter!

Amazing chocolate fudge brownie. One of the best one that I have EVER had. OMG. I used to get stuffs Krispy Cream near by but come here often now for the brownie PS, all other reviews are true about staffs can be a little bit nicer but Brownies pull the rating back, thats how good they are

I would give this place 5 stars, but they dont have wifi. It would be such a nice alternative to starbucks because Firehooks coffee and deserts are so much better. If youre the management, please get wifi! I am currently writing this review from Starbucks. bummer.

OK for a quickie, maybe a soup and sandwich; the staff is nice, they mean well; there are four hightop tables squeezed in with two stools each. Parking is difficult but there are some 30 min meters right in front that turn over.

Really yummy pastries and baked goods. This is a quaint little coffee spot and bakery. People are very friendly. Their coconut macarons are amazing. They also show the ingredients of all their baked goods which is cool.

Good, quick service. Cozy atmosphere. Good coffee, biscotti. Cant speak to the baked goods but they look nice. Edit: Second visit; espresso was undrinkably bitter. Machine likely needs to be cleaned.

I hesitate to give a rating because I dont want anyone else know about this hidden gem. But its great, the coffee is good, the bread and pastries are great, and the staff is warm and friendly.

I was a big fan of Firehook until I found out about their anti-food truck stance. Not cool to oppose the food trucks and and try to push them out of DC. They wont get my business.

Firehook baked goods are awesome. Their sweet treats are great with a cup of coffee, but Im actually there more often for the bread and rolls. Makes for the best sandwiches.

They sell fruit! And they offer a ginger and lemon tea. The sun shines through the windows and the street in front has less traffic than the Starbucks on the circle.

What a great bakery. Reasonable prices especially for DC. Amazing cookies. If you like chocolate the chocolate espresso cookies are incredible!

The Presidents cookie was decent. My companion liked it more than me. The bakery had a good small atmosphere. The breads look delicious.
