My husband and I along with our 14-month-old son recently dined at the Back Porch Cafe after a recommendation from someone from the area. We loved the quaint, upscale atmosphere...the dining area was quite charming. The food was rather good too..we especially enjoyed the lump crabcakes. The Back Porch Cafe had a solid wine list as well with suprisingly good prices. If we were to go back to the restuarant in the future however, we would not be bringing our child. The restaurant DOES NOT CATER TO CHILDREN WHATSOEVER!!!! We were not aware of this going into it and soon discovered that they do not have highchairs OR booster seats avaiblable. There is also not a childrens menu and they will ABSOLUTELY NOT MAKE ANY ACCEPTIONS TO THIS as far as their kitchen is concerned. We actually just requested that they melt a piece of cheese on the bread they serve and they refused to do that stating their kitchen was too small to accomodate such a request. WHAT???!!!!! They did suggest however that we walk next door to the pizza place and get something from them for our son and then bring it over to our table. The waiter told us that they often suggest this to people with children. We deifinitely understand if a restaurant prefers not to accomodate children however it would have been nice to see that actually written outside somewhere on the restaurant or on the menu. I have been to many places before where that has been made clear...not sure why the Back Porch Cafe doesnt do this. I can tell you from experience though that it is quite frustrating getting into a restuarant and half way through your appetizer and a glass of wine, you realize that you child isnt exactly welcome there. Having said all of that, I would definitely go back but only if I had the opportunity to do so with just my husband (and unfortunately, we dont frequent FAMILY beach towns such as Rehobeth without our children! ).

One of the most sublime meals I have ever had in my life, and that includes the (very good) food I ate at my wedding reception. Mashed parsnips! Who wouldve thought? I had never had parsnips before and I absolutely adored them. A good friend of mine and I went to Rehoboth for a "girls getaway" in March of 2010. Everything was beyond compare from the amuse bouche to the coffee after dessert. I cant wait to go back.

Top notch service and food. I could go on for hours about the food. To keep it short and sweet: you have to try the sweetbreads, and the fois gras. Doesnt matter how they are presented, they are always amazing. Salads are mind-blowing, and the guinea hen, salmon, or rabbit (any preparation) are fantastic. Keep up the great work!

Awesome place, great desserts and cocktails and the food is delicious. The building has an old Victorian charm to it and I think its rehoboths best kept secret. If youre looking for this gem, its right before Five guys burgers, and right after the rehoboth toy and kite shop and new nicola pizza.

This place has been a popular Rehoboth Beach spot for 40 years. Its beautiful, especially in the spring when the catawba tree is blooming. The food is great. The ambiance and atmosphere is really neat. Good romantic spot or fun time when theres live music. A must see for visitors

While the server was very nice the food was over priced and of poor quality. My wife salmon was not cooked and my veal was tough and under cooked. Not going back after many years of enjoying what was a great Rehoboth place to dine..

Fresh never frozen food, plenty of organic items and the menu always changes to keep everything new and exciting. Theyve been around for over 36 years so theyre doing something right!

Absolutely the best place in Rehobeth to have lunch. The food is creative and fresh. The service is the best weve experienced in years. This place is both casual and sophisticated.
