Ive been a fan and a regular customer despite the distance, just a bit too far to come here more than occasionally. Over the 15+ years Ive been coming here, Ive experienced very consistent quality across the menu and almost invariably good service. I am a particular fan of the "heart attack on a plate" nachos, which they actually seem to care about doing right -- many places with nachos on the menu skimp on ingredients and theyre disappointing especially when theyre ordered as an entree. But every time I have the nachos here, theyre world class. I like the fact that they have salads with a BBQ theme, so the healthier-minded in my party were able to find something they enjoyed. The ribs and pulled pork are consistently great as well. My other favorite is the "Fat Tommys Flatboy," a jerked chicken & pork sandwich on grilled flatbread with cheese, onions, etc. Desserts are usually pretty good though can vary in quality/quantity at times.

First off, let me say I dissagree that the prices are very high its actually very reasonable for the amount of food you receive but then again I was born and raised in CT. Anyways the food here is amazing I have never tried anything from here and disliked it...and Ive had almost everything on the menu, Ive been coming here for years. I will say Im a huge fan of coleslaw and I find theirs to be very oniony which I do not like. Besides that their pulled pork is delicious and their ribs literally fall right off the bone. I get the nachos every time because I just cant seem to part with them, they are sooo good. They have really good margaritas and they come in the cutest little jars. The environment is really nice its a pretty large place and the service has always been excellent. No complaints! Definitely reccomend if you are hungry and in the mood for BBQ!

* Asked waiter if he had hot chocolate and he said yes and with whipped cream. Comes back five minutes later said no they did not have any! ** ordered potato skins and the dish comes out with three halves - where did the other half go? Three halves for $9.99? *** hamburger comes out with wilted lettuce. Really? **** three friends with me and we all had heart burn. Meatloaf was dry, chicken dish looked horrible and the wrapped stuffing looked gross!!! First time for me here and last time! I couldnt believe it. My friend paid the bill and said it was a donation and they just lost four more people. Oh and the ladies restroom was gross! Manager/owner dont reply and say to call in just like everyone else is told - we wont call!! If I could give less than a star I would!

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE CRABMEAT AND CORN CHOWDER AND THE HORSERADISH MASHED??? Myself along w/ many friends used to look forward to these two staples the Cookhouse offered. They went and changed their menu to offer things I would get at crap places like Red Lobster or some other chain. French Onion soup and Cheesy Mashed Potatos. The portions have always BEEN quite inadequate considering the price youre paying. The ribs are kind of dry and hard and the food always ends up coming out at once! (soup/salad, appetizer, dinner) Ugh!!! The ONLY thing this place has going for them is the atmosphere (old barn) If youve ever had REAL southern BBQ this place pales in comparison. People who think this is good BBQ do NOT know BBQ/food!

This is a mixed review. I liked it and my spouse did not, so I avg it out to three. We tried the all you can eat bbq. Every night of the week they have different specials. The night we went they had the all you eat special of ribs, chicken and pulled pork. The pulled pork had a very smokey taste. I really like the heavy smoke taste, my spouse not so much. It comes down to you preference. The deal is very good good sides and good meat. Plus, a free pint of beer. That is a decent deal if you like the taste.

My family of four was recently at the Cookhouse and we shared the two-meat special for $39.99.....The ribs and pulled pork were tender and soooo delicious! The size of the serving was plentiful and we even had left overs to take home. Yum! Our waitress KJ (as in Kendall Jackson!) was exceptional. She had complete knowledge of the menu and was quite entertaining with her laugh and smile.....She made us feel like we were old friends. Cant wait to visit again. Many thanks to The Cookhouse team for a great evening!

Delicious food but be prepared-- it is always LOUD!! Dont expect an intimate atmosphere, but expect expect good background music and delicious BBQ such as pulled pork, andouille, and my personal favorite of theirs-- smoked duck! The proportions are so huge you can expect to have dinner for up to two days after, depending on your appetite! The family dinner is always a great idea since you get lots of food and a choice of several meats and sides.

This is great bbq in a family friendly restaurant that never seems to be without a crowd. The pulled pork and chicken are delicious but my favorite thing is the burnt ends of BBQ smoked beef. The smokiness and the spiciness are perfectly balanced in the sauce and I love their cool creamy cole slaw as well. Sweet potato fries - also very yummy. Service can be a bit scattered in their attentiveness but always friendly.

Terrible with a capital T. First the floors need to be cleaned, its hard to eat at a place that lacks cleanliness. Take a look at the nasty rugs to go upstairs. Utensils were not even washed as well. Service is undecided, never even brought a menu and needed to ask for utensils. ketchup bottle oozing used ketchup at table. Waste of my time.

Not what it used to be. Would make the trip to New Milford just for the pulled pork nachos, those no longer exist. The pulled pork sandwich was dry and tough, covered in a very sweet sauce. About 10 years ago this was a treat to go to, now I will not be back. At least the waitress was nice which is why they get two stars.

Brisket cut into cubes like Alpo drenched in VERY sweet (too sweet) sauce. Ordered a red sangria that tasted nothing like any sangria I have ever had, sent it back. Duck sandwich was fair. Cannot recommend and will not return. Maybe this is what folks in this area like, but it is not for me.

This is an unlikely place to find BBQ of this quality. It might be mediocre by Texas or KC standards, but its excellent if you give it points for being where it is. They kill you with the quantity of food - if your arteries are unclogged, this place is a good deal.

Love this place, Best thing to do is order the 3 meats for the table. Its not 5 stars because the meat isnt a home run but it is delicious- but could be slower cooked and less dry. However 4 stars for sure I look forward to going back again and again.

They are over priced and the food is terrible. How do you send out a rack of ribs ice cold and a salad with 3 shrimp? And then when you talk to the waiter they act like its not there problem. I will never come here again.
