THIS PLACE ROCKS! Truth be told - greasy diner food makes for a surprisingly good start to an eight-hour day of hardcore technical skiing!! We got here a bit before 7 so wed be assured a fast seat and relaxing meal before the 8:30am first chairs at Vail. Three of us dined here, ordering a Taxi Driver Special (loaded hash browns w/ egg, pork chili & cheese), German Pancake (fluffy popover dusted with confectioners sugar), and a more-typical-yet-still-amazing breakfast burrito. After sampling all three, Id say the Taxi Driver Special wins for "most unique," assuming youve got the stomach for it! If youre looking for something more traditional, you can get your eggs, pancakes, toast, oatmeal, etc. all day long, with lunch items added on the menu starting up around noon. If you can get an early start to the day and afford the extra sit-down time this diner demands over a faster nearby deli, youll definitely be rewarded with enough tasty food-fuel to enjoy a day on the slopes!

Me and my brothers spent a two week skiing vacation in vail and stumbled across that little diner one morning.. Oh boy ! That place has served me/us the best breakfast weve ever had! They were so nice and humurous.. ! The cooks did an amazing job and it was great to sit right next to them.. Another TOP NOTCH feature( at least for me) was the fact that it wasnt really warm in there... with temperatures being close to 0degress outside and all the skiing clothes i expected to sweat bullets but i was definitely mistaken! It was definitely well worth the trip from germany and i am looking forward to my next stay this october :-)

Visited Multiple times - Most recently 3/2017 The Little Diner is just that - little, so be prepared to wait and be flexible with the seating. The ***HOME MADE*** corn beef hash is delicious. If you are like me you want to try both the Eggs Benedict AND the corn beef hash - they will allow that change for a small fee. Pretty much everything I saw served looked decadent and delicious so I dont think you can go wrong on picking something. Spread the risk and order different things if you must but dont plan on sharing the corn beef hash - its that good.

By far the most amazing breakfast we have ever had! Everything looked and tasted phenomenal. The food was fresh and seasoned perfectly. I normally drown my hash browns in ketchup but didnt need any here! My boyfriend is from Louisiana and said he hasnt found grits that good since being home. The staff was friendly and welcoming. You sit and watch the chefs make the food. It amazed us how in sync they were. The place filled up really fast, was 1 1/2 hour wait but beyond worth it!! Wish I lived in the area so I could go back all the time!!!

My business partner and I ate here while we were in Vail several months ago...had a lot of great meals while we were in Vail, but this was one of the best. Reasonable prices....fun to watch your food being prepared right in front of you. Everything was awesome. Great staff...super friendly. I loved it when the guy beside of us asked for margarine and the lady with the French accent said "we have butter." Made my day.

I think I just ordered the wrong thing here. I ordered the apple bacon and cheddar crepe. It had a very weird taste. Kind of sweet. Maybe I read it wrong and it was apple and bacon. I was expecting a savory item and it was sweet. I was a little disappointed that they did not ask me what was wrong as I did not eat any of it. My friend had the big breakfast and it was all delicious..every part of it.

The chefs that run this place are total professionals. It was impressive how the made the most of the tiny space, and all of the food was top notch! I dont remember the name of my dish, but it was a large pile of hash browns and green chile pork with two fried eggs on top. My wife had a short stack of pancakes with some delicious roasted apple and bacon topping. All in all a great experience!

Very small but quaint atmosphere. Ate here two mornings in a row. The sausage breakfast sandwich was delicious as well as the eggs Benedict. The second morning, I asked for a single biscuit on the side of my meal. My order was wrong and was served a side order of biscuits and gravy (still very good, just not what I was trying to order). Reasonable prices and quality food.

What a cool little place! My wife and I were in Vail celebrating our anniversary, and stopped in here on our last morning. Such a cool atmosphere. The food was great, and the staff was fantastic. Brian Little, the executive chef, took the time to talk to us for quite awhile while was doing his thing. I will recommend this place to all my friends visiting Vail.

Ah, breakfast. The only time I get to enjoy breakfast is when Im on vacation. This little spot serves a good old solid breakfast but it gets filled up. I dont think they take ressies, but make sure to put your name down first then check out the shops should you need to wait. Eat the porkchops! How many times can you get porkchops for breakfast, anyway?

A great breakfast place in Vail. The place is small, so if you do not time it right you will wait. The food is good, the chef knows his stuff. The pancakes are especially notable. Seems popular with locals and out of towners (like us) so that adds to the wait. I can only imagine what it is like during ski season as it gets crammed in the summer months.

Single best place for breakfast in Vail proper, hands-down. Small place, not a lot of room, but they use a digital check-in process that will text you when your seat is ready. Everything is great, but the eggs benedict are simply perfect. Also, one of the few places Ive ever seen with German Pancakes on the menu. Another dont-miss.

I like that they have a system that texts you when your seats are ready. That was so much better than trying to wait in the little dinner for a seat. I had the steak breakfast burrito with steak and green chili sauce. It was one of the best breakfast burritos that I have ever had. The fresh squeezed OJ was excellent as well.

Im a breakfast fanatic from Dallas. This place easily ranks as one of the best Ive been too when it come to the "most important meal of the day". The food was excellent, and the service was friendly and prompt. Seating is very limited, so be prepared to wait (its worth it). PS.. The pancakes are uber delicious!

There is no reason to go anywhere else for breakfast once you find The Little Diner. The omelettes are absolutely delicious. The crapes are very good. Do not pass up the German pancake even if you have to take some home. Outstanding staff. Take note - go early, very limited seating.

The Little Diner is a very cute breakfast establishment. Bar chairs are set around the kitchen, where you can watch them prepare the food. Everything we tried was delicious, and the Dutch baby was enormous! The staff was friendly, and prices were reasonable at $10-15 per person.
