So the three stars is 100% because of the sound guy there. My band recently played here and the sound guy was terrible. He was nearly impossible to work with, made it seem like everything the band was asking for was completely insane and out of the question, and on top of that, he was outrageously rude. He was the sole reason our experience at Dickens wasnt amazing. Hes a crabby old man who refuses to get with the times. Youre system has the capability of doing in ear monitoring, you just dont want to do it because you dont get how it works. Simple as that. Dickens Opera House needs to fire this guy and get a sound guy who actually knows what hes doing and actually enjoys what he does. Otherwise, the food was amazing. The service was amazing. The bartenders were really great and cool people. 5 Stars for everything out. 1 Star for the sound guy. He was the worst.

This is a great venue in which to hear local bands. We go to The Dickens a few times a year, and always have a great time. I suggest that you get there early enough to have a nice dinner downstairs at the restaurant as the service and selection are significantly better in the restaurant when it comes to the food. If you want a table for the concert, get there at least 30 minutes before the doors open in order to get in line for seating as the seating is quite limited based on the amount of people who generally come to the concerts (at least in our experience), and there isnt a lot of room to stand at the bar. The acoustics are great, and the history of the place is palpable. Really a fun venue!

I just had brunch here, yesterday, and it was amazing!! I had the chicken fried steak burrito, and WOW it was good. Everything tasted homemade and delicious! I would highly recommend brunch here! Oh and $4 bottomless mimosas and bloody marys. I had mimosas, and they were delicious! ONLY DOWNSIDE: they did not have any alternative creamers for coffee such as coconut or Almond milk. I have minor allergies to dairy, and having real cream/milk in my coffee is not enjoyable. I had to just drink it black. Thankfully their coffee tasted pretty good with a little Stevia, which they did have. Go figure.

We had brunch twice in the last month at the Dickens. It was absolutely fantastic! I was so surprised as I had no idea they offered such great food. I consider it to be the best weekend breakfast in Longmont and am going again tomorrow. Prices are also extremely reasonable!

Ive only been there for events but still its amazing. The bar tenders are really sweet and the waiters are as quick as possible. The food is delicious. They have elevator access for people in a wheel chair if you want to go up stairs but it is in the back of the building.

Great small concert venue with a well-stocked bar and a good-sized dance floor. The entrance is a bit sketchy, and the place could use a good cleaning, but thats pretty typical of this sort of venue. Good parking is available behind the venue.
