These guys used to be called something else when I got hooked on them at 6th and Broadway in Denver. I followed them when they moved to Wash Park, and now I continued to make my pilgrimage down to Littleton. I absolutely love this place. Id be there every week if they had an Aurora location or somehow managed to move back to the Golden Triangle near my office. The restaurant works similar to Noodles and Co., but a little more up-scale. You order at the register, then seat yourself. The food and drinks are then brought to your table. Drink first, then your salad with the option for fresh-ground pepper, and a short wait before your pizza with table-side grated parmesan. Your waiter will refill drinks and clear plates throughout your meal. The combo special is where its at - a personal pizza (any of their menu pizzas, not just a one topping or something), a half salad (which is a full plate of any of their menu salads, not some little side of lettuce like at other restaurants), and an bottomless fountain drink. The pizza is amazing, but I really shock myself by saying the salad is what really sets them apart (and trust me, I love the pizza). I always order the Bianca pizza, the Piccino salad (A-Mazing), and their fresh-brewed iced tea, which is absolutely to die for. Lunch or dinner, Piccino is one of my all-time favorites. I would highly recommend them for a family dinner, a laid-back date, or a casual work lunch.

To say that Il Vicino is an excellent restaurant in every single respect would be an understatement. Ill start by talking about the pizza. The pizza is amazing. It is thin-crust and cooked in a wood oven, and it is very reminiscent of actual European pizza. There are also tons of different varieties, and an almost endless list of toppings you can add. You can substitute any ingredient, including the sauce. Basically, your imagination is your limit when it comes to ordering a pizza. Did I mention that any pizza can be made into a calzone? Yes, thats right. Okay, other items on the menu: Salads, sandwiches, pastas, desserts (chocolate flour-less cake anyone?), and an expansive selection of alcohol. The best part is that its all cheap!! Okay, its a little pricey if youre expecting your typical order at the counter place. But dont let the counter-ordering fool you: the food is good enough to be sit-down restaurant food. So considering that youre getting restaurant quality food for five to seven dollars less per entrée, its overall a great deal. One last thing to mention: the service is excellent and the ambiance is quite pleasant. Every time I go there I have a really top notch dining experience, definitely worth all five stars!

My husband and I just moved to Colorado and live right by Il Vicino. We had been eyeing it for three weeks and were SO excited to try it. We read the reviews, drove by it, looked at the website - we were ready. So we got all dressed up one night, and made this our "going-out" evening. I have never been so disappointed and let down in my life, and I really mean that. Judging by their website, we thought it was some dark, cozy, quaint, fire place, wine and pizza place. Boy were we wrong! This is a brightly lit, fast food joint with awful pizza. I am not saying that to be mean. I will eat ANYTHING, I LOVE food, you have no idea! I did not eat my pizza. It was bland and disgusting. Ill give them that my caesar salad was good. But this is not a salad joint, its pizza place. And the pizza was not good. I cannot believe the reviews and how good they are. Gross, nasty, save your money and order Dominos. This is not an insult, I LOVE Dominos and would have way rather ordered it that evening.

The only reason Ill give the restaurant two stars is because the staff was very apologetic when we needed help with our orders and also because one entree was good. First, they charge $2 per meatball and brought an adult a pasta with one meatball without explaining that when we ordered "meatballs" we would receive one. But as soon as the staff noticed we had an issue they brought us another meatball. Their prices were far too much, for two pastas, a calzone and two small pizzas we paid $85. The servers do not ask how you are and if everything is alright and are very avoidant of guests. The cheesecake was very tough and hard as if it was old and was not freshly made or at least stored in a fresh place within the last two days. The pizza had an extensive amount of flour and the calzone was mediocre. I would not recommend unless you like overpriced food that is not worth the money. I will not be going back and I say if youre looking for authentic and affordable Italian food this is not the place.

Il Vicino is the perfect blend of fast (timely, not greasy) food and upper scale restaurant. Theyll wood-cook up a pie for you and bring it to you faster than most nicer places will seat you. They have a long list of pizzas with quality ingredients - imagine an Olive Garden that focused all of its culinary might on pizza. Maybe citing "Olive Garden" as a good place to eat makes some snooty eaters sneer, but if you cant admit that Olive Garden is good thats like denying the Beatles are worth listening to just because everyone likes them. Anyways, the point I was trying to make is that they have fast service, better (read: gourmet) pizzas than any standard Papa Johns, Pizza Hut etc. - and if you want some extra kick they have peppers and sauce at the table. Considering they have a $10 combo of a drink, salad and personal pizza, thats good eating. Go there.

It was pretty good. Definitely dont regret going there, but also not sure if Ill go back. Pizza was meh. I loved the texture of it, crust thickness, and ratio of ingredients, but the sauce almost tasted soapy -- as weird as it is to say -- and the pizza didnt have the distinctive taste Id expected. The service was not all that great. The attendant up front was nice, but also forgot things a few times from a pretty small, simple order. I am also not sure that I liked the "order up front" setup. I think when I saw the nice decor and wall of wine from the outside I expected a sit-down type of experience. This isnt necessarily a bad thing, just my personal preference. Everyone else on the Googles seems to like it here though, so maybe I just have too discriminating of a palate for pizza.

We had a soccer party for 40 at Il Vicino on a Saturday at lunch-time. I had called a week ahead, and the management was very welcoming and helpful. They quoted us a great price for an all-you-can-eat lunch. When we arrived, the tables were set up and pizza was on the table less than 5 minutes after we sat down. The food was excellent and the service was fantastic! We will definitely go again!

5/5 best pizza Ive ever had (next to my moms!)! This is as close to the original Italian pizza as you can get. Fresh Mozzarella, Real tomato sauce, fresh herbs... So good! And the desserts are to die for!. My buddies and I go here about 2 or 3 times a year (cause we are college students) and we are treated like family every single time. If you havent been, go right after reading this review!
