Years ago I tried it, because of all the buzz... Had a burrito. Taco Bell is better. Very bland, and they put it on a thick tortilla, like pita bread. Hardly any flavor, just not good. I took my family there again, thinking maybe I tried it on an off day. This was a bad decision. I tried some of everyones and Ill give you the rundown Pork Burrito: Sauce was bland but had a bit of flavor. Beans were rubbish, Completely runny. Tortilla (more like a pita) is flavorless and doesnt contain the contents. Liquid beans and sauce gush out of it like crazy. Beef Taco: Taco meat is bland and has an aftertaste like dog food smells. Dead on. Zero flavor, other than dog food. Taco shell was brittle and likewise flavorless. Steak Taco Salad: Again, the prevalent dog food smell. Lettuce was watery, like it wasnt drained properly. Steak could have been a rougher grind of the meat in the taco. Beef Tostada: Same as meat above. Bland and smells like dog food. Beans are runny . Tostada shell has a very strange odor/flavor. Like stale, but worse. And the price! Outrageous for what you get. I cannot recommend this place to anyone. Google mexican food and pick something else. There are a ton in the area Ive had, all were much better. I still dont understand why people still recommend this place. My entire family felt the same.

I thought I would try a new Mexican place in town, but was severely disappointed. I had a chicken burrito with a tortilla that was the consistency of a slice of bologna. The burrito with a drink was around nine dollars, which considering what was included in the burrito was incredibly over priced. Inside the burrito I had chicken that had barely touched the stove, some soupy refried beans, and some absolutely tasteless guacamole. Did you notice I did not say there was rice? Because the rice was extra. It cost a dollar to put rice in your burrito. The service was incredibly poor and a few bored looking females who barely put the effort into being there. I would highly recommend not going here. I have a feeling that the reviews below are either friends or the owners of this place, because I cannot imagine anyone I know ever saying that these burritos were even half way decent. They were sloppy, flavorless, and extremely overpriced. Dont waste your money here. Please go to Tacos Jalisco. It is so much better and right down the street.

Somewhat puzzled by the reviews. Vasquez is neither good nor great. Id rate the food overall mediocre. They tout everything as homemade which it may very well be however that doesnt seem to translate to freshness or being edible. The tortilla chips were over-fried to the point of being rock hard. The shells used for tacos were very close and have a similar crispness and flavor to prefab Ortega shells from the store. The enchilada sauce and cheese of the enchilada and beans didnt strike me as anything special or remarkable. They were edible but nothing above mediocre. It brings me no comfort to give a poor review to a local family owned business but I also dont want people to waste their money. I absolutely hope the best for the Vasquez deli but in my opinion their food taste, texture and flavor (soooo important!) needs to be upped dramatically. There are many other far better Mexican food places in town.

This place is clean and theyre nice.. But i go places for the taste and love which clearly this place lacks. Two burritos a torta and chips $31... Kinda pricey but ill pay alot for good food. The "guacamole" is just mashed up avacado with nothing in it... Not even salt.. The burritos came in a wierd flat bread like tortilla... And when i ordered and said no beans please.. " so you just want meat" thats all that comes with it... Meat and beans for $ 8.75. Rice is extra and guacamole i mentioned earlier.. Yikes.. Wouldnt be surprised if not one person there spoke Spanish.

This place is pretty well known throughout Vacaville but, its just okay. The flour tortillas are hand made which is awesome but the rest of the food isnt that great. I wont be returning here since its so overpriced for the food. Over $5 for a bean and cheese burrito. The service is so so, the atmosphere is interesting but if you want authentic mexican food I would go elsewhere. This is on par with Taco Bell but thats just my opinion. Btw I am Mexican so I do know a thing or two about the food.

We ate here after my wife, who had fond memories of eating at the old location, suggested it. Our food was very resonably priced and the quantity was good, but the food lacked any flavor and seemed to be precooked and just slapped togeher from a steam table. We will not be back, sorry Vasquez, not what it used to be. I dont know what the other reviewers who gave this food good rating had to eat, but it must have been much better than what we had or there last name might be Vasquez.

Vasquez Deli is my Favorite Restaurant of All Time. I could eat there every day and never tire of it. The tacos are scrumptious (isnt it amazing how every restaurant makes tacos differently?) The burritos are good I hear (Im not a burrito fan). the salsa is delioicus and the new restaurant is clean and fun. I love eating outdoors in their neat little eating area. Very clean. I regret not living in Vacaville anymore because this place...oh how I love it.

Best burrito in Vacaville! The tortillas are made by hand everyday right there at the restaurant and you can tell by the flavor and freshness. The pork burrito is incredible, soft and not dried out like so many other places. Like the tortillas, the pork filling is made by hand. No wonder this place has been a Vacaville institution for over 50 years. The walls are covered with the history of the area and worth taking the time to notice.

I have been visiting this place since 1996 when they were in a different location. They have the best burritos and makes their own tortillas. They can be a bit off around Christmas and New Year Holidays. If you had not so good food experience during that time, I would try them again when it is not around "The Holidays". And, I did have a experience a young cashier charged me a flavored soda for a small bottle of water.
