Very poor service. Where do I start...upon arrival to our table one of our guests noticed that the dining surface of our table was not clean. She asked our server to wipe it but it was never done. The "theatrical" chef arrived, but was short on the ingredients so apparently she had to "half"our portions. The steaks were unevenly cut and looked like someone in the kitchen was trying to previously also " economize" on their size. The lobster tails were very small. Tiny. I never saw them that small before. It was not nearly close to worth $ 38.30 per plate that we paid for them. Portions were microscopic, because they were really trying to cower up the shortage of the ingredients. The " performance"of our chef was mediocre, probably due to lack of training. But at least she seems to try harder than other "theatrical chefs" around us. Unfortunately one of the guest was splashed with the water from some extensive grill surface cleaning right in front of us. Nothing serious, but very unpleasant. The plates of the kids for whom we ordered from expensive regular menu, were taken away with a nice amounts of leftovers, but was not offered to be packed to be taken with them. It was not a problem for the rest of us, as we barely had not much on our plates to eat to begin with. Apparently the guests from other tables around us had a bigger portions. Wonder what happened to the shrimps and scallops and grilled vegetables that did not make it to our plates? What else gone wrong - They did not refill our water. It was not enough tea for all of us at the table. Of course it was no refill for that either. You would think that the hot water slightly touched with the hint of the previously used tea bad or what they refer to as tea should not be so scarce ? Poor very poor establishment. On top of all of that they included the mandatory 18% tip in the total amount of bill, which I did not noticed, so I paid an additional $40.00 tip on top of the $30.00 tip they already charged me. Disappointing. I want my money back. I will never come back. Of course I did not recommend this place. For the money your spent there you can get a much better food and service in some other restaurants. By the way their $ 30.00 off birthday coupon is only good Monday through Thursday, but you will find this out only after you will give them your personal info to register for it.

@Behihana Torrance, however it feels more like The Laugh Factory, after waiting ninety minutes plus with no buzzer. I asked the gentleman in this picture to speak with a manager serveral times and he continuously brushed me off and laughed like a hyena. My husband then demanded he get a manager at which point he complied and said to us "MEXICANS WORK HERE, AND ASIAN ONLY MAKE THE SUSHI" my jaw dropped and the woman standing next to me said "that was rude". The Manager shows up she informs me someone dropped the ball on giving me a buzzer, then gives me one and politely lets me know our graduation party has to wait thirty more minutes max, however shell do her best to make sure its not that long. At this point its not even the wait thats making me feel disgusted and annoyed, its this guys costumer service at the front desk, Ive visited this location countless times and have never felt so small, I wanted to leave so bad, but my son and his friends really wanted to come here to celebrate their graduation and I didnt want to disappoint them.

My husband and i are very disappointed with the food and service. I was excited to go there since it was my time and Ive heard good things about this restaurant. As soon as I walked in the floors were dirty, I was so hungry I didnt care but that was a reflag. My husband and I got a table and ordered food. I ordered the filet mignon that comes with a side of shrimp, grilled veggies, mushrooms and rice. Since I dont eat shrimp I asked for more veggies. The food arrived and I was dissappointed. Half my plate was corn (tasted like canned corn) very few small pieces of grilled veggies drowned in oil and about 6 small pieces meat. The server didnt bring my drink until I got my food and I had to ask for refills on my husbands tea multiple times. The taste of the food was mediocre and absolutely not fresh. I had to ask someone for the check since I waited there a long time and never saw the server. I will never go back to benihanas.

If you looking for good food this is the place, but keep in mind that you can wait up to 4 hours....This place is not worth the wait, I am very sorry about this Benihana your customer service has failed me big time. I can not believe that I waited this long to get seated, really 4:30pm I check in and you seat me at 8:45pm...really I will not come back here no matter what If my kids was not with me I would of left and gone to Fogo De Chao in Beverly Hills that is right I should of done that in the first place. You did not tell me that you having a party. You told me it would be 1-1/2 to 2 hour wait. I ask you a few times and all you said is to wait. I spent close to $150.00 in drinks. You guys gave us a cold soup. The salad was very bad and took way too long. The restaurant was full of smoke and very warm. You have lost a customer for life.

I just enjoyed a great evening filled with wonderful food and fun energy from the server Bob, also the Chef Hector who was amazing!! They made our dinning experience like a Vegas show. What a master with his knife and making shapes with the rice and eggs!!! Hector and Bob really were extremely profession. I have to say that Mr. Zamora the manger was the BEST he was always coming by to make sure we had everything we needed. It was a girls night out and we were celebrated several birthdays. We made the perfect choice by dinning at Benihana"s and I wanted to express how wonderful the whole staff made our night. Highly recommend your restaurant . I think this will be my go to favorite place always. Thank you again, Mr. Zamora, Hector and Bob

My first time going. Reservations for 4:15 .. Please note they close at 3pm to prep and CLEAN for dinner. I was excited. I asked for bathroom. It was a mess. They even had a dirty OLD nasty cleaning rag on TOP of a BABY changing table. We had 4 servers within the first 20 mins. We had to stand after being seated so they could vacuum because the dining room was filthy.....FILTHY!!!!!!!! Trash and debris everywhere. The food was not prepared correctly. Some of our party had to wait while others were served. It was not cooked in an orderly fashion. They over charged us for drinks. It was a complete mess. COMPLETE MESS. the upside was leaving.

I just visited the restaurant for the first time since they remodeled. Apparently they forgot to put the customer service back. They are obviously doing well as the restaurant was completely full at 6PM on a Wednesday but the cook had no charisma, the waitress was absent most of the evening and they are now skimping on the dessert. You can do better for the investment which is a real shame as the establishment WAS a family favorite. (I spoke with management and they showed no signs of understanding any of my concerns.) You should limit your expectations. It is not what it used to be.
