i ordered the food, vegetarian orange chicken, vegetable soup and vegetable dumplings... obviously there is a theme here, they show up quick and apologize for forgetting the dumplings. We dont make a big deal, the orange chicken was awful, the soup was good though, so in light of not eating a full course meal, we wait for the dumplings, as they show 20 mins later. Take a huge bite..YUKKKK chicken dumplings!!! i Call them and tell them i havent eaten chicken in a few years and am quite upset about that mistake. She states that she is sorry, do i want credit? I say well we havent eaten, i would like for you not only to credit the dumplings but send me the vegetable ones for my trouble.. She says she can only do one thing.. Send them or credit them.. Ive been to several restaurants, if they make a huge mistake, they compensate in some way, and she didnt even want to.. Not only did they come 30 mins later with vegetable dumplings but they insisted on getting the chicken ones back, as if we were lying.. I will never return to this restaurant, the service and the food was not worth the money!

OK, I just read some of the negative reviews and thought Id bring a positive perspective to this Restaurants listing - because weve been ordering from them for many years now, and NEVER did we have any problems. Of course it does happen, bad service that is - but that is NOT the norm at Kung Pao, based on our experience. The environmentally conscious part of me also appreciates their food is delivered in reusable plastic containers, which we use to reheat their leftovers (if there are any) or we put them in the dishwasher and use them again for other uses, sort of like Tupperware... Its unfortunate that most comments on "review" sites such as yahoo, google or citisearch are from people who had bad experiences - and good experiences go unnoticed...

After finding this place online, we just placed our first delivery order -- and it was AWFUL. The cost was okay, the phone operator was polite, and the service was fast. But the food was literally inedible. We ordered the BBQ Pork appetizer and Mongolian Beef and Chicken in Black Bean Sauce as our entrees; they all went in the trash after a handful of bites, and we had to order a pizza. Everything was extraordinarily bland; the pork was gristly, the beef was fatty, the chicken rubbery. Amazingly, even the dessert was so unappetizing that it went in the trash.

Everything weve eaten from this place was excellently cooked! A bow to the Chief!! Albeit as noted by the title, the Curry Chicken was excellent - the most tender chicken, crisp veggies but the curry isnt as spicy nor hot (FYI: Curry originates in India - so go to an "India" restaurant if you want the real deal). The most tender tasty beef in almost all dishes although we havent had the Filet Mignon yet! General Chows chicken is good - similar to General Tsos but not as spicy! If your looking for "Authentic" Chinese food, look some where else.

We love their service! Waiter (Ethan) was nice guy and served us .service and the food are great!! I always do a Togo online order and they deliver quick and food well done! Ive read peoples negitive comments and didnt see anything wrong with the food, the chef knows his food for real ;and I having a kitchen background rate the restaurant and food five stars.

This place is amazing! My favorite place for Chinese in the valley. First off im vegetarian so the fact they have alternative meat dishes made it special, but the food and the service is great as well. The waiters are always very friendly and attentive and the food is delicious. Id highly recommend this place, especially for vegetarians.

My friend had an apartment in Sherman Oaks for a while and we would order from here a lot. It was always really tasty. When I finally went to the actual restaurant I was pretty impressed with the venue. Only complaint is they dont always make it spicy enough.

Most amazing Food Ever. I try to make it there before 3pm, because of there amazing multi-course meal lunch special. It is super great tasting, great decor and extremely fast service. Now they even remember my order when I walk in. I love this place.
