It was the first time I ate at this restaurant. After passing by the restaurant for years, I decided to stop by. I love trying new foods. I am Asian and there are not many Asian restaurants in Whittier. I just moved here 4 years ago and I miss Asian food so much. I drive to my moms house in Long Beach for Asian food once a week. Lol. I had Beef Pad Thai and my son had Thai Iced Tea w/ Boba. He loved his drink, but didnt like the pad thai. Hes half Hispanic and his taste buds are not for Asian food. The waitress does not speak English, so it was very difficult to communicate with her. The dish was a little sweet, but the dessert was not. The appearance of the food was colorful and looked good. It tasted fresh: the beef, the peanuts, the noodles, the bean sprouts. The restaurant is dull inside and out. It took us a while to get our drinks out and to order our food. The owner there was nice and greeted us. Overall, my experience was ok, nothing special. I would come back to try something else on the menu, but I would like company because the restaurant was dead when I got there. Its very gloomy and sad and empty.

Keep looking if you want a decent Thai meal. I normally write these reviews on Yelp, but people need to be aware this is far from good Thai food. Food was fairly bland, the decor looked like something out of a early 90s movie depicting Thai restaurants in the middle of nowhere.. its in a really awkward business area and honestly, to the folks saying this is the best Thai food or that its even remotely great, Id suggest you venture outside of SFS for Thai food as youre missing out on what real Thai food tastes like. This isnt even an acceptable place to go if you work in the area, which I do. Yuck.

If you ever find your way into thai star cusine.......be sure to order the hot sour soup with shrimp, thai star fried rice, or the pineapple fried rice. They have the best Pad See-Ew noodles. Thai star also has very good thai ice tea....when I ever i go to other thai restaurants the thai tea has no flavor. Overall they have good food for a good price. The lunch specials are popular for the quality and price, better than spending it on fast food. I recommend lunch special #9 with beef. Oh yeah the beef salad is the best i ever had.........

The food was terrible. I was so looking forward to a Thai restaurant close to work but this place was not it. The fried rice was nothing but sticky white rice with soy sauce on it. The scallops were the size of dimes and tasted like they were frozen and had been microwaved. The service however was great. There was a guy there who waited on us and he was very very kind. I hate giving bad reviews when service is good but the food just isnt any good. :(

I first started with the Duck Curry = delicious!!!!! add sweet sticky rice to it and youre in heaven. The fried shrimps are enormous and mmm, mmm good! The Ginger shrimp with veggies (drool) I like to have them add silver noodles... paradise for the palette! My husband and I try to go 2-4 times a month, the food is sooooo wonderful there and the service is exceptionally high for a small restaurant. The owner and his family are very hospitable and nice.

I ordered extra spicy beef fried rice. It was brought to me as regular fried rice (not even spicy). It we then taken back and returned with a light pinch of crushed chili powder. I was not pleased with that but ate it in disgust. The portions are relatively skimpy for the price. I went based on others online reviews. I WILL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN. I WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN. I LEFT JUST AS HUNGRY AS I WAS WHEN I GOT THERE. THIS PLACE DESERVES NO STAR!!!

Excellent food, excellent service. I ordered for pickup and when i arrived, early I might add, due to the food not being readily available the owner brought me a complimentary bowl of soup and offered me a seat. Extremely considerate staff all around. Very homey feel.

Good Thai food for the area - would recommend as a place to pick up lunch if you work around here. Free Thai tea is a bonus!
