The manager refused to come. I felt so bad for the waitress who was in the middle. As far as I know when it comes to customer service, the manager in charge should be available and ready to come when asked for . The food we had ordered was served very late and tasted overcooked and very weird. I did not enjoyed the food and so were my friends who also know how the food at least was supposed to taste. At the end after requesting so many times, the manger came and told us that he could not do anything about it. Almost of all the potion of the food was left untouched and the soup of the stew was horrible. If we were too full, we would have wanted to bring it home but we did not want to. We are very offended by the comment of the manager saying he would have done something if we had told him earlier at the beginning. I do not know how early he meant. The food was served very late . I believe It takes time every one at the same table finds out the food tastes horrible unexpectedly, especially at an expensive restaurant like this. No matter what, it was very unpleasant that the manager has treated us as if we were a group trying to get the money back after having finished the food served intentionally. He did not want to do anything. If he did, he would have asked if we want the cook to try it again or something else. He kept emphasizing the policy that we were never informed. Most of all we did not feel any impression that he felt very sorry for having ruined our main dish that we were anticipating so much to enjoy the most. I do not think this restaurant understands ABCs of any customer service!! It also did not look willing to serve and want to satisfy customers sincerely. Very disappointing and embarrassing!!!!

Great high-end Korean BBQ! Definitely make a reservation because there will be a line for dinner. Service is attentive but during busy times, itll be a little backed up. Theyll cook everything for you at the pace that you eat (which is really great) and they refill your banchan very often. So despite high prices, you still get a lot of food to offset the prices a little bit. The meat quality is extremely high. I recommend one of the kalbi options; we go the Suwon (I think... its the one with the salt rub) and that was delicious. I also recommend the black pork belly if you like pork belly. You dont really need to order much else besides 1 order of meat per person, since there is so much food! But the seafood pancake looked super delicious.

Best Korean BBQ restaurant Ive been to in the bay area. Pros: - marinated galbi was tender, flavorful, and all around delicious - side dishes were all delicately prepared (unlike the cafeteria-like ones from other places) - the steamed rice was properly cooked, fluffy but slightly chewy (in a good way!) - the staff was very nice, even when we were done eating, they didnt try to rush us out the door - the seating was arranged nicely so that we werent packed in like sardines (like many other places) so we could have a nice conversation and actually hear each other - they accept reservations! Cons: - parking can be a challenge - others have mentioned that its expensive but you get what you paid for so the value for the price is good

Update Upgrading back to 5 stars. Things have stabilized after a bit of convergence time. Update Downgrading to 4 stars after some months. Quality of food went downhill quite noticibly and cannot justify 5 stars any more. Old review below Probably the best (and also the most expensive) Korean restaurant in the entire Bay Area. Quality is better than equivalently expensive ones in downtown SF. As such, this one has the best quality / price ratio I believe. I rarely recommend any Korean restaurant to my co-workers as I dont feel they are good enough, but this one I recommended without any reservation.

This place is pretty good and really feels like youre in Korea. But not everything is a slam dunk. We ordered the seafood pancake and galbi at first, we were not at a barbecue table, the galbi was cooked in the kitchen and came out super tough. After we told the manager, he took it off the bill and we re- ordered the Cod, which was delicious. The Cod dish came with squash and tofu on the same dish. Highly recommend the cod. Do not recommend the seafood pancake (Jang su Jang was better) nor the galbi. Service is good but probably would try another place next time.

This place has some of the best Korean BBQ in town. Their meat is not frozen but just super fresh. Beef is on point and so is the pork. Grill that beef medium and it will be so juicy and tender. I never had Korean BBQ that had such juicy beef. I also loved their seafood pancake that actually has fresh seafood in it - you can just it. The atmosphere is modern and chic. Service is ok point and super helpful and attentive. Its very pricey and you can easily spend way over $100 for two people. Great place!

Definitely on the more expensive side, but if youre willing to splurge I think its well worth it. The premium galbi is super delicious!!! It comes with a soup usually if youre at the grill. Minimum of 2 meat orders for the grill. If youre not Korean though, the service tends to not be as good. Theyre not as nice about refilling your sides (you have to ask, most places would offer), which is off putting considering this is a more expensive Korean restaurant in the area.

Went to Chongdan tonight with friends. The waitress suggested two orders of mothers day special($58 pp) and a rib dish for four people. So, we took that suggestion. Mothers day special was okay(small portion though as it was for 2), and the rib dish was a ripoff:$50 for two ribs. We regretted taking her suggestion. We should have stuck to our original plan to order other dishes. Not a good feeling after paying more than $200(incl.tip) for the dinner.

This place is similar to Jang Su Jang but the decor here and silverware all seem more modern. The parking lot is in the back and the spots are quite narrow so beware. Moving onto the food, it was quite good. You can BBQ your food here ( the waitress pretty much helps you cook ) as there is a grill on the table. Quality of the meat was decent. Also the hotpot was quite tasty.

Never recommend this place. I was almost dead from food poisoning for days, including hours and hours of vomiting and diarrhea. I had a dish that contains oyster. A friend of mine also had suffered from food poisoning caused by a raw crab dish. My worst restaurant experience ever!!!

The food is good, but the cost is beyond pricey, its outrageous: $120 for a couple of BBQ dishes and a small bottle of rice wine. And the waiter didnt bother to cook the vegetables that came with the meats, as I was told hes supposed to. We wont be eating here again.

This probably my favorite Korean restaurant in town. We had Suwon galbi and Jumuluk galbi, and they were amazing. Also, the side dishes were very delicious. We got here without reservation on Saturday evening, and the wait time was around 20-30 mins.
