This is a single star of bitterness. I used to eat at the Green Chile in the city when it started because it was a block from my friends apartment, and became our hung over breakfast burrito spot. Over the years I have watched it become more and more popular, but also more and more expensive. The food is good, and the ingredients are high quality, but if you are looking for a good burrito, there are other places in Marin. Unfortunately, as of today I will officially never eat here again. I went to the San Rafael location for a burrito (steak, sour cream, guac) after a long Green Chile hiatus, and they charged me a shocking $20+, with no drink. The Bay is expensive, but that is just a Marin gringo rip off. This food, though it is tasty, is simply not worth the price tag. Some restaurants open in Marin just thinking that because people in the area might have money, they can charge whatever they want. This is how a lot of places go out of business around here, because in reality people are tight with their money, and if the value isnt there, they go elsewhere... Ive seen it a lot growing up. Anyway, boo hoo, but I would suggest Picante in the Canal, or Mi Pueblo in San Anselmo.

Ive been to a lot of places that serve either Tex Mex or "Authentic" Mexican food as I have family in the easy bay, live in the north bay and work in SF. Out of all the places Ive been this was probably the most incredible burrito Ive ever had, not only was the burrito flavorful and the portion just right but it was also incredibly well balanced. Most places rely too much on having the best sauce or whatever their particular spin is but this place gets the whole burrito right. From the protein down to the beans and cheese balance and the incredible idea of having the rice on the outside and not just as filler! they have this down to a science.

Must try this place. We stopped in here after a hike on Mt Tam. Neat open place, not real large between two galleries. Interesting menu with unique versions of each dish. I had the Flat Enchilada combo with sweet potato filling. The stews were very tasty. Sangria Pitchers were better than most Sangrias! Vegan and Veggie options. A party of 6 of us ate and all of us enjoyed it very much. Service was friendly and attentive. Nice people.

Really great overall experience. Made a reservation for a cozy table in the corner. Wonderful seasonal vegetarian options. Went with the fish tacos. They did not disappoint. Service was friendly and fast. My daughter enjoyed her tamales. Hubby went with 1/4 chicken dinner and plowed through it with gusto. A great option in downtown San Rafael when looking for Latin/southwestern food...

Went there with my family for breakfast. Food was great but barely warm after a 25 minute wait to be served after ordering, with only one other table seated in the restaurant. Table was dirty. Great atmosphere, the waiter was pleasant. We will give it another chance.

Tired of the usual Mexican places? I go here when I still want something spicy and chesey, but I want proper table service and something a little different... its "New Mexican" food. Try the multi layer enchilada (casserole) - its great!

This is my new favorite place. The flavors absolutely pop in your mouth. The menu has so many delicious options that I keep coming back with new people so I can try everything. I feel like Im eating healthy, fresh food every time I come.
