I have a love hate relationship with the place. Its so close to home but have gone down hill since the Kaiser moved in across the street. First thing is they rised the prices which sucks because my family and i have been comimg here for years and now we come a lot less. They also have let the service go. Youll find yourself waitting 10 to 15 minutes after being seates to oreder thats after waiting or driving around for just as long to find a parking spot as it is always busy. The food its self is good here. For the most part noting Ive had here was bad so I will give them that. The free chips are best the second round because the first batch are always cold and the second ones are hot. Once you get you food (which doesnt take to long)trying to get someone to help you is a bit hard youll have to flag one of the waiters down before someone well check to see if you need anything because its always busy and under staffed. Most of the time the next time you see your waiter is when they bring you the bill. The drinks here are stiff and should help the time pass on waiting for help thought out your meal so that is a plus. Over all a great place to go if you have patience and you not Im a rush to go anywhere.

Iv been here 3 times an never had a problem until today im having dinner with my family 2 adults an a child my son food was ok i guess but when it came to me an my bf food plus drinks it seem like the problem just started.we had the lapinta platter to share an i had 2 dirty cups it was things floating at the bottom an they handed me a dirty plate with spics of food still remaining on the plate than i bite into my chicken an found hair on my skin of the chicken..i than reported it to the manger when it was brought to him he didnt directy handle the situation of these items.the utensils an my mojito was the only thing poping mind yall this was my mothers day dinner..the manger told me to shhhh keep quiet an that i was being obnoxious an than threatn to kick me out after the fact i brought him evidence..so i told him no need to kick me an my faimly out we walked in by ourselves we can walk out by ourselves..i wasnt gonna allow our money to be spent there they was real rude maybe because we are black not sure but hay i havent had a problem with this restaurant till today..so just double check your food before you eat....other than that the drinks are awesome

I like that this place is open so late and the service is usually very prompt. I prefer home made mexican food, but if Im going out locally, I want it to be here. The food is consistently good for restaurant mexican food. They food is usually accurate and served fast and hot. I wish they were better about keeping the drinks filled, but I always ask for a glass of water in addition to whatever I order for my drink so it wont be a problem. The drinks from the bar are tasty. I like the New Mexico chicken enchiladas, the chile colorado, and the carnitas best. This place is always a good place to bring friends. The only consistent downsides are that we always end up seated near someone that orders the stinky whole fried fish (The Pescado Especial), the bathrooms could be cleaner, inadequate parking, and during busy times, there can be long waits for a table.

This is one of my favorite places to go for late night Mexican food... actually, one of my favorite places to go for Mexican food anytime! It just helps that they are open until 3AM for those night that I am hungry and Taco Bell just wont cut it. The portions are large, the food is flavorful, and we usually get good service. I have even called ahead for a pick up order and it is always ready and correct. My favorite is the Veggie Burrito dinner. I love the rice and beans and guacamole. Yummmm... I also love Huevos Rancheros. nothing cures a hangover better in my opinion! The margaritas are nice and strong and not too sweet. They dont use that syrupy mix that a lot of places do. My friend complained that her Pina Colada was too strong... but I think she is just a wimp =) Now I am hungry!

I give 2 stars simply becuse la pinata in San leandro is a hit or miss. The location it self is a decent size and the bar is pretty nice but Ive had many times where my food was made wrong and or I had bad service and the waits are really long. I really go here when its convenient because its close to home and Ive been going here since I was a kid . Years ago la pinata was so much better but I must admit the service has always been sorta bad but the food made up for it . La pinata has gone done hill within the years. I hardly eat here any more after having a few nd experience. The hard location has better food but the location is extremely tiny .

We havent been there in a while. We were really looking forward to a great dinner. Somethings changed. We left feeling dissapointed. The food was just okay. The service was nothing special. The atmosphere was so so. The drink, a margarita, was poor. I used to get a buzz on one drink. This was an expensive fruit punch. I hate getting ripped off with the drinks because they know they are ripping you off. The prices have gone way up. Sixty bucks for three of us is over the top. I think from now on well just stick with Guadalajara. Twice the dinner at less than half the price, and absolutely delicious.

Best mexican restaurant ever! They give you large servings, I always get the super burrito which can feed me and my boyfriend and have us both super full. If you dine in, you get unlimited free chips and salsa, be careful, their salsa are on the spicy side but if you can handle the spicy food, then you will definitely love it. All their dishes are very favorful and super good. This has to be the best mexican restuarant in the east bay. Another thing that I love about La pinata is that they are open until late, so if you have a late night craving for mexican, definitely come here.

I went to the tequila bar and the table was sticky. Ordered two steak tacos and a Sprite. Sprite came first. Food came about 20min later. Had to make two request for a refill three times. Rice was dry beans to liquid like soup. Tacos had a lot of beef. but the corn tortillas where not cooked. At the end of the meal we wanted to get something to go. Could not find a waiter and could easily get another one to help. When we finally did he was mad we bugged him. I have been to taco trucks that had better service.

The first waitress had an attitude but the second waitress was nice and it made up for the first girl. The food was terrible! They served us rancid guacamole, messed up my friends order of nachos ( she order chicken and they gave her shredded beef). My tacos were grilled chicken and the chicken was stale (super dry and hard). I got sick after a couple of hours eating here. This place used to be good quality but I guess they dont care about that anymore. I will never eat here again.
