First time I ate there, I had a basic pepperoni pizza. It was decent, if overpriced. But nothing to gripe about. Second time, I got a chicken parmesan sandwich. The meat was dry, the sauce blander than an episode of Friends, and the bread was burnt on both sides. To put it nicely, it was horrible. Add onto the fact that I paid $13.65 for it, and you might guess I was pretty unhappy about it. I sent an email that (so far) has received no response. So, since I live so close, I went back in to get this unpleasantness off my chest. The person who served me said that she had never heard that about the chicken-parm. My question is: "Whats your point?" She felt the best answer was to stare vacantly as if she were a deer in the headlights of a pickup truck. Not her fault. No refund was offered or given. Suffice to say, I wont be going back there.

I have been eating here for over 30 years. Great food, great service. Lunch specials cant be beat. Delicious pizza with a crust like no one else in San Diego. Home-made meatballs made by hand on site. Sauces for the pasta dishes are delicious and heaped on the plates, No need to ever ask for extra sauce like many other places. Garlic bread made to fresh for every order. I have eaten every item on the menu at some time during the last 30 years and have never been disappointed. Now that I am retired I am able to eat here 2-3 times a week. And dont forget to try the lemon cake for dessert !!

Can you believe I have been going here for nearly 50 years when my parents took me or my Dad who knew the owner well would bring home pizzas. My mom loved the pizza. No other place will do when we want a real pizza. I drove across town to pick up pizzas. The place is small and even with redecorating it is not comfortable. But the food is so good. Best in town. To my friend that says it is greasy, well the real cheese stretches out yummy enough. forget about it!

Great service and the food was good too. We were looking for a cheap place to eat but wasnt too sure about the location. Once inside the restaurant the ambiance was good and the staff were super friendly. The salads were good and the pizza had plenty of cheese, not my preferred crust. But good food for the price. Recommend it!

Good ol fashion American Italian food. I really enjoy the pizza and the pasta. My wife loves the mushroom raviolis. You can get the wine by a carafe and they serve beer as well. Service is always good (it helps when you frequent and the people begin to know you). We dine at Venice at least once a month.

A-One best pizza in San Diego or anywhere for that matter. I always get the works, (no anchovies, pineapple, or jalapeno). People travel for miles to go to this place even though they have pizza restaurants much closer to them. When my brothers come visit from Washington, they always want to come here.

I was going to get the lunch special, but I didnt want the soup or salad. The server was nice enough to recommend the side spaghetti which comes with garlic bread. The side order of spaghetti was more than enough. The staff seems to really care. Next time Ill bring some friends and get pizza.

The best pizza in San Diego! Ive been coming here for too many years to count. The spaghetti is good, antipasto salad good but its really the pizza that keeps me coming back. Nice clean restaurant, friendly and helpful servers, occasionally you may have to wait a few minutes for a table.

Greatest tasting pizza you will have in San Diego. They have tons of choices for toppings and they are always fresh and delicious. They also dont skimp on size or toppings so youll be sure to feed the whole family. For great food at an affordable price try Venice Pizza.

Such a great pizza place. When we can afford the price (14 or 15 for a medium) we will always go there. They have a stamp card and the pizza is amazing and with my wife and i eating a medium we have just as much if not more left over because of how full that pizza is.

Leaving a review to counteract Stephen N.s negative review. Its called read the fine print on the Groupon dude. Anyway, I love this place. The pizza is fantastic, although I usually order with lite cheese. Makes it easier to reheat the next day.

Was going to try it out, sister in law bought me a groupon. Lady over the phone said they dont accept groupon on mothers day. Get real its pizza, guess Ill never eat there. Someone needs to learn how to treat a customer.

This place is beyond awesome! Quaint little family owned Italian restaurant. The food is way above par and they win best pizza every other year. Prices are below what they should be, never a complaint about this place.

We ordered a pizza, it was fresh and hot but not the best pizza ever. If I lived in the neighborhood I would return but I wouldnt drive across town because I had to eat the pizza again. Good little restaurant though.

The pizza was good, as well as the service. But not amazing or out of this world. Just good. I fell like this pizza is more of an american style, New York Style, rather than the typical thin crust Italian pizza.

Best pizza in San Diego, bar none. Top quality ingredients cooked to perfection. I have limited experience with their other dishes but a colleague has given her praise for their gluten free pasta options.

I have been getting pizzas here since 1974 and there is no other place who makes pizza that I like as much. I have been hooked sine the first time I went. The lasagna is great too. Yum!!

The staff is great and honored our groupons with no problem. The food was very good. We ate pizza, spinach ravioli, spaghetti, lasagna, fettuccine alfredo and it was all excellent.

The meatballs and ravioli were not very good in comparison to other Italian restaurants, and the pizza was average. Very dissapointing for a place thats been in business for decades.

I am an older NYC Jersey guy who recently tried Venice Pizza. I disagree that the food is poor at high prices. The Lentil Soup was excellent, as was the spaghetti and meat sauce.

Its ok! A bit on the pricey side for less quality. However, they offer coupons so this offsets the bill. Wait staff is a bit wee annoying but they do what they are hired to do.
