After driving past Mi Pueblo more times than I can count, my mother and I decided to stop in and give this place a try. Its practically open 24/7 (okay, not really, but they are always open when we pass by), so we stopped in here for a late lunch the other day. Now, I love Mexican food, I mean LOVE, but I always have the hardest time figuring out what to eat! I dont know if its because I love almost everything or because Im incredibly indecisive, but I have come to the conclusion that the latter is absolutely not true (tee hee). My mom knew what she wanted to eat right away (she always gets the Chile Relleno), so under pressure, I literally closed my eyes and picked something. I ended up ordering the tacos from the "A La Carte" menu and selected carne asada as my protein. The gentleman who was taking our order asked how many I wanted, so I said three. I didnt know how big they would be and I was pretty hungry, so three sounded like a good number. The food took a little while to prepare, but that was alright with us because we had some time to kill. Not to mention, we were snacking away on the fresh chips and salsa that were brought to our table. Although the salsa needed a little extra salt, it was extremely light and refreshing and had a lovely little kick of spiciness from the jalapeno that was chopped up and mixed in. Once our food arrived, I was in heaven! I wasnt expecting all the toppings on my tacos, but it came fully stacked with lettuce, salsa, avocado, and lemon juice. Oh em gee!! It was soooooooo amazing!!! The meat was juicy, tender, and flavorful, the lettuce was fresh and crisp, the salsa added just the right amount of heat, the avocado was smooth and creamy, and the lemon juice added the perfect amount of tangyness to meld every single flavor into a harmonious mouthful of amazingness! Oh my, Im seriously making myself hungry for these tacos at 8:30 in the morning! The only downside to this place is that the food is a bit on the price-y side considering there are so many other Mexican restaurants around. Each one of my tacos was $4.00, however, they were some pretty amazing tacos, not to mention rather large. I could only eat two! BUT, and this is a big BUT, they have taco happy hour!!!! Each taco is only a dollar!!! My Recommendation: Absolutely, 100% give this place a try. The food is sooo delicious and I would definitely order their tacos again. Taco Happy Hour!!! See you there!

I came here a few years ago and ordered Chicana, the meat was not tender, I figured the restaurant was new so I chocked it up for that. I thought I would try it again a few days ago during Happy Hour. The board on wall says tacos are $1.50 for Happy Hour which starts at 4: The waitress came and I wanted 2 chicken tacos and my wife wanted 2 carne asada tacos. I was informed we needed to order at least 3 or 4 tacos of the same type so we ordered 3 carne asada tacos. The waitress then removed my silverware. The owner then came out and said we needed to spend $10 to use a credit card, so we used cash. The owner went on a rant about how he knows about Happy Hours at other establishments and they make you order 3 tacos of the same type. This place does not know anything about customer service, basically rude people. The tacos came and they looked good, however they were over seasoned with salt. I will never come here again.

Horrible business. After waiting way too long for our to-go order we get ready to pay and are told they will not accept our Entertainment book coupon because they are losing too much money in this economy. I'm not sure but I think we were speaking to the owner. We would've been happy to pay but he decided to get loud and act like an idiot. I don't reccomend this place to anyone! If you want good Mexican food, head to Vientos! It's only a few minutes away...food is delicious and the service is ALWAYS wonderful.

This is by far, by far the best Mexican food I have had in Sacramento. I have spent years looking for something that comes close to what I had when I was younger and this is Mexican food. It is made by a man in his 70s that understands how to make great food and has a passion for Mexican foo. He came to our table. 3 words, Guac, Chili relleno, rice and beans. Please do NOT go here if you judge you Mexican food by weather your soda came out of a can or not, unless, you consider the to be authentic.

I go here often for mexican take out. The food is always generous and tasty. You need to like spicy mexican food, as "not too spicy" does not seem to be an option!!! Chips are lousy, salsa good, but hot. Chicken quesadilla is greasy, but chicken is fresh and the whole thing tastes great! Great prices, fast service. Very humble place to eat, but great for take out. Not enough people from Sac know it exists, so hopefully they will stay in business.

Delicious Mexican food from a quaint neighborhood restaurant. By the river on Freeport Blvd. The carnitas plate is a great choice or try the carnitas in tacos or enchiladas. My brother loves the fish fillet and orders it all the time. My mothers favorite dish is the chile rellenos because they are the most like the ones she makes. Give it a try when you are not in a hurry. The owners are sweet, hardworking people and they do all the cooking.

I came to Mi Pueblo to order to go. I carried my Yorkie SERVICE DOG with me. I was told my dog had to be on the floor. I complied although she is suppose to carried when needed for panic attacks. I was refused service & yelled at to leave by the owner. I even showed the letter my doctor wrote. Then 2 customers started to yell at me to get out. I have never been attacked like this. ZERO stars.

This place is great. My friend and I were literally the only people there. No AC and the drinks came out of a can, not fountain. BUT the food was amazing! Im from socal so Im definitely a Mexican Food snob and this is the best Mexican food Ive had since moving to Sac. The owners were super nice and very attentive. Im bringing all my friends and coworkers with me because its worth it.

I walked in to the owner berating a customer for sitting with a leg under neath of him as it ruined his seats. The he told me my son better keep his feet off his seats because kids destroy the seats. So I got up and left. It smelled like mold in there and the man who owns it seems to not really care about his customers.

Owner operated. The wife and I think theyre nice. I had the carnitas plate and the wife had the steak racheros plate, both were excellent, the steak imo being the better. Exterior may look like a hole, but the interior is clean and pleasant.

Awesome authentic Mexican food. Its run by the owners. Super nice people. He is the cook and she is your waitress. The fish is great but so is everything else.
