Worst owner ever! My sister & I went in during a weekday at lunch time. The girl who seated us & young man who took our order were great! When our food came out it was so cool that the cheese wasnt even melted. We spoke with the young man about the problem & stuck our finger in a chili showing him it wasnt hot. With absolutely no problem he said he would take it back and have it remade. Then this woman came out with a smug look upon her face and let us know that she was the owner and she stuck her finger in our food and burnt herself. To which I replied thats impossible because as your server just saw the foods not hot. She chose to argue and raise her voice speaking over my sister telling her that she was wrong and that the chili was fine. This literally went on for a couple of minutes until my sister was fed up & just stopped talking to the lady. The owner said that she would have the food remade just to make us happy. Mind you when she said that she was rude! Never in my entire 40 years of life have I walked out of the restaurant. On that day for the first time I walked out of the restaurant with my food being ready to come to the table. I will never go there again!!! The sad thing was I used to go there for Christmas parties with one of my ex employers and both my sister and I were looking forward to going and having their delicious, their once delicious food. Only thing positive I can say about their food is their chips and salsa are good.

My coworkers and I went to la casa de Ortegas restaurant on Thursday of last week. I liked the food so they decided to take me for birthday the following Monday. We had the worst experience and asked to speak with the manager, so a lady came to our table with an attitude when we addressed the issue to her she walked away did not even acknowledged what we had said. As she was walking away I asked her for her name and she replied "Xiomara Ortega Im the owner. She has no knowledge on customer service. I think she needs to take business classes and leatn that its very important what the customer has to say and take the customers complaints to improve rather than get upset about an isdue. She might not care loosing three customers today but in reality she will loose many more.....I say she will be out of business soon.....

Alejandra Laurson , You are completely wrong . The fact that you would wish for a business to shut down is highly atrocious. Its shows the type of person you are. Anyways, I went to eat there for the first time with my sister . The waitress sat us down and really pleasant. I ordered the shrimp ceviche and my sister , Their enchiladas suizas . The food was really delicious and delivered on time . The server kept our booth clean and made sure we got refills of our beverages on time. I complimented our server and it turned out that the server who took care of us was the owner. Her name is Xiomara Ortega , and she was beyond nice. I totally recommend this place .

Wow... the first lady was good. Once the bartender had to come get out order it was down hill. Why would the bartender need to come take out order? She can barely keep her skirt down. We ordered a blended margarita and there was no salt around the cup. The margarita on the rocks was served in a martini shaker and by the time we poured into a cup it was watered down. We ordered the Mexican sampler and was total oposite of what was on the description. The food was delicious. We even had to walk up to the bar to ask for the bill. They didnt come to collect the payment. We had to take it to them. This was all at 3pm on a Friday

I was skeptical of this place and would always avoid it since I hardly saw people there. So I decided to take my family there to eat the other day to give it a try. Wow was I amazed of the quality of food! Pricing was okay but when the food is good I really dont care how much I pay. Will definitely be back.

Very generous restaurant. Im in a service committee group through my work and we hold various charity events and fundraisers one being feeding the homeless in our community and when we thought of making it a taco night Mexicali was there to donate for the cause!! Thanks Mexicali Bar & Grill.

First impression is very important & ours was terrible. We walked out because of bad smell...empty dining room & creepy feeling. Seemed like an episode of Kitchen Nightmares, maybe 5 locals at the bar & NO one in dining room. No thanks!

Grabbed early dinner & a beer here about a month ago. Its quite on a weekday. Very chill. The food was very good. Had that home style look & taste. I recommend for a laidback day. Have a beer with your chile relleno, beans, and rice.

I had lunch today at La Casa Ortega it was really nice. The service was excellent and clean rest rooms. I can always judge a restaurant by how clean the rest rooms are.The food was very authentic, the way I like it.

I love their food, prices arent too bad. The bar tender (we eat in the bar area, less crowded) knows us and is always coming by refilling our drinks and chips. We go here at least twice a month.
