Paradis has really changed over the years. *Puts on hipster glasses* - I remember back when it opened up, they had a lot more adventurous flavors, was still called gelato, and it heavily advertised its Scandinavian roots. The portions were a bit larger, and you could get at least 2 flavors in the smallest cup. Nowadays, you walk in and it appears that the word gelato has been replaced with ice cream, there is no mention of Scandinavia (or at least from what I could see), and the flavors are relatively boring and safe. The flavor profile does taste different, a good deal more sugary, and I have become less and less of a fan. To top it off, for some time now the tiniest scoop will run you $4+, will only be allowed 1 flavor, and is a small portion. $4+ for a tiny scoop of uninspired ice cream? No thanks. One could argue that they are simply catering to the neighborhood/culture of the family friendly Montrose area. Do kids care if the flavors are inspired or from Scandinavia? Probably not. So Paradis has definitely made some changes over the years, and whether or not that is good for business only they will know. For now, they have lost a fan. Would I encourage others to go? Depends on your taste, as the ice cream isnt bad, but isnt great either. Personally, if for some reason I am in Montrose again looking for dessert, I think I would choose to put my money elsewhere to get a bit more creativity and enjoyment, or just forego dessert altogether. Good luck Paradis! I hope in losing one, they gain more, because there is nothing wrong with success and catering to your crowd. I am just no longer part of your crowd anymore.

Small-batch ice cream made with fresh ingredients and no preservatives. Different flavors available every day. The sorbets are light and refreshing. The ice cream is rich and delicious. My favorites include strawberry buttermilk, lemon lime ginger sorbet (pictured), sea salt & caramel, and vanilla bean. My son loves the Oreo ice cream. I also really enjoy affogatos with espresso and the sea salt caramel ice cream. Sometimes they make unique favors like cucumber and elderflower sorbet. Ive never tried anything I didnt like. They have "loveboxes" where you can get 6 or 10 different flavors in their own compartments that are great to take home or to a party. My friends ask me to bring a box whenever I come over. Its some of the best ice cream Ive ever had. Cant go through the village without stopping by!

Incredible flavors, they change though. The first time I went with my family, I fell inlove with the diverse flavors yet all finely exquisite and of perfect hardness. My favorite mix was the haslenut mix with the banana. Rated 100% perfection! However, the next time we drove all the way to glendale just to repeat this and go to the park, the flavors were different! Dont get me wrong....the new flavors, the other haslenut cream and banana were also exquisite. But I just wanted the first one. I was told that this is common there. Its just their way of getting a client to try how good they are at any flavor, I guess.

While Paradis is a bit expensive, trust me; it is 100% worth it. The ice cream is touted as all-natural & handmade inside the store, and judging by the taste, they were not kidding around. The ice cream here is SO GOOD & comes in several unexpectedly good flavors. The staff are nice & during the summers they bring out board games to play outside too!

When you taste the ice cream from Paradise, you will realize that every time youve had a flavor previously, it didnt taste like the actual thing. Theyre strawberry taste like real strawberries, not red number 5. Their hazelnut taste like real hazelnuts, not yellow number 40. I highly recommend Paradise for all of your ice cream needs, lol.

I had the spiced pumpkin and it was more than delicious, all fresh ingredients, and superb texture. My standard of excellence for ice cream/gelato is Come il Latte in Rome, and this is very close. Support this small business with the delightful proprietor on site--its what makes America great!

Probably the best gelato this side of the Atlantic! Simply amazing! Try the blood orange flavor which is to die for!!! Even their sorbets are amazing, and I am not a fan of sorbets! You would never guess that there is no cream in it! Definitely worth the drive if you live a bit further away!

LIFE IS GOOD: Stroll two blocks of Montrose downtown, stop at Paradis for ice cream. Artisan-quality ice cream, wonderful flavor selection. Small store front with awkward arrangement along counter. When there is a line you cannot browse the flavors.

The ice cream here is so good it should be illegal. Two words: strawberry buttermilk. Theyre open late, too, so you can pop in after dinner even on a week night.
