La Primavera (Springtime) is an old dinner brought back to life by good ol Mexican goodness. The waitresses always have a smile on their face and the cooks gladly accommodate my crazy vegetarian request. La Primavera serves their dishes in the traditional Mexican manner; the main course is always accommodated by refried beans and Mexican rice. Each table receives a basket full of chips and a small bowl of spicy salsa. La Primavera is located in downtown Martinez and it offers the best Mexican food in town. The interior walls are a little psychedelic, the mural transition from meadow butterflies into a Mexican villa -its colorful. My co-workers speak very highly of their soups but I prefer their cheese flautas (think taquitos). Unlike the chicken flautas the cheese version require additional folding to prevent the cheese from running. The additional folds give the flautas a mini-burrito look. The flautas usually arrive right out of the frying bucket and are extremely hot. A good dip in sour cream or guacamole usually cools them down. The dish is obviously not the healthiest option; if you insist on being a size 0 then order a salad (and get your brain checked). La Primavera is the type of Mexican food you can expect on a Tuesday. Its not fancy Friday, its not Hot-Date Saturday, it could be comfort Sunday but Tuesday or Wednesday is the best fit.

4/26/16 Ive enjoyed food from the lunch truck before, but today was my first experience dining inside the restaurant. I was lunching alone so I sat at the bar. I was immediately greeted and given a clean menu and a choice of mild or hot salsa to go with my chips. Hot, please! The chips and my water came at the same time, and I ordered a crunchy shrimp taco, a soft taco with grilled fish, and a side salad. The salad was delicious. A little Italian dressing drizzled over lettuce, garbanzo beans, and a beet and more. Chips were light and crispy and the hot salsa was spicy and delicious. And the best part, my two tacos were outstanding. The grilled fish was seasoned very well (the soft corn tortilla fell apart but was also fresh and tasty). The shrimp taco had a crispy shell that also broke into pieces, but the yummy shrimp were cooked perfectly and had lots of lettuce and cheese on top. I was also offered more spicy salsa without asking - it was so good! Service was great and my tacos were delicious (and lunch only totaled about $10). Definitely will be back!

This is my favorite family style restaurant. Being from Martinez and no longer living there I always return to eat at this authentic Mexican restaurant. I take my entire family and the staff always accommodates us greatly. The dish I cannot get enough of is the ceviche!! Ceviche!!! But all there food is delicious. Highly highly recommended place to enjoy. Comfortable atmosphere with a large screen tv to distract you while your appetite awaits satiation. Im headed over there right now...

I go here at least once each year when I visit my friends in Concord. Absolutely love their menu items. Have had each entree item on menu at least once, and always satisfied. Good place to go if you are really hungry. This is true Mexican food, different from the Tex-Mex I have back home in Texas. Go here once, and youll be hooked for life.

Restaurant was extremely hot. We were seated and left without water, chips or anything for 14 minutes. Music was annoying. No signs that anyone was going to serve us so we slowly walked out. It was not busy to the point where this wait time was justified. Place is garbage.
