You neighborhood hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant that you probably never knew existed or even if you knew existed was too hesitant to go in because of the darkened windows... But really not, this place is legit when it comes to Chinese food. Like any legit Chinese restaurant, while I thumbed up/smileyed the service be aware that you if its busy the opener lady isnt going to look happy - but no worries, shes really nice and quite a hoot even with that demeanor haha. As for the atmosphere, well it got an A rating for cleanliness at least haha. But yes, on to the main point - the food. Like I said their food is very authentic Chinese and they also cater to Japanese clientele (as noticeable by the Japanese in their menu). I highly recommend coming here to eat in or take out, especially their giant pork meatball.

Tiny place, but excellent food. Dont let the name fool you. You can get traditional Chinese cuisine here, not just BBQ. A-1 has been around for 20+ years and still going strong. Its a small place but the food has always been excellent. If you want a taste of some of the most authentic Chinese food, all served in the South Bay, then A-1 Chinese BBQ is a place you should check out.

Looking from the outside, you wouldnt think much of this place. The inside is clean and the staff here is friendly. I took out dinner. I was very happy with the quality of food period I would definitely come back here again and even dine in the next time.

Love this little hole in the wall. It‘s authentic, delicious, inexpensive everyday Chinese food with warm service. One of our few favorites in the LA South Bay.
