Our neighborhood fave for years even though weve hit a few clinkers occasionally with a missed dish or extremely miscalculated wait times (worst being 40 mins quoted & we left after 80 mins for party of 6). BEWARE: NOT the place for large groups! Yolanda is our most favorite waitress & we enjoy being welcomed as friends, celebrating special events & the ability to take our own wine in to plan our meals around without a corkage fee. Lots of options from amped up comfort foods like mac & cheese, burgers & pizzas to rustic French dishes. Plat du jour isnt quite the deal it used to be but at least they changed their policy to now make that dessert available to everyone instead of only with the PDJ. Wine list focuses on Rhone varietals. If you have a larger group, best to make reservations at their sister restaurant in Sonoma at the more well-known girl & the fig but no free corkage there.

What a neat little place. I wouldnt normally visit a place like this, but the bill wasnt mine and I needed some good dinner. I was not disappointed. I ordered the Gnocchi while the others got the roast and a hamburger. I tried some of each and they were all great. The meats were juicy and very tender. We also tried a "flight" of wines (4). I always enjoy that kind of thing when places have it. They only carry one brand of wine, but I dont know much about wine so I didnt mind at all! The gnocchi was the best I have ever had. The goat cheese was formed to perfect and was seared slightly on one side. It was mixed with a garlic, buttery sauce that the gnocchi soaked up perfectly. Each piece was a dream and I tried to eat it one at a time. The carrots were a little tough, but hey, still great! This place was quite a surprise and I loved every bite of it!

Weve now eaten at the Fig Cafe perhaps half a dozen times, and each time the experience is the same: wonderful. Great food, casual, mellow, homey atmosphere and overall a really good memorable night. The food is fresh, with interesting specials, and always delicious. Their no corkage fee is a big plus too. We have also eaten at the bigger sister restaurant, The Girl & the Fig, which has received rave reviews, but our experience there was nowhere near as good as this unassuming comfortable cafe. Well done, its a gem in Glen Ellen you shouldnt miss, and our first restaurant recommendation for friends visiting the area.

I loved everything about this place. The food was excellent, the staff was friendly and efficient, the wine list is great, and the price is very reasonable for the quality. We sat at the bar where we got to watch the chef and his assistants prepare all the food, and they were a well-oiled machine. Even though it was busy, they kept up an impressive pace. I definitely will come back and you should stop in if youre in the area.

DELICIOUS fig/arugula salad with mushroom pizza Nurturcium drink too sweet...next time sub with soda water instead of ginger ale per suggestion of Jessie. Jessie made us feel at home knows the menu selections...ready for my questions. Serving time, presentation was right on. Look forward to Sunday and Tuesdays with Jessie for great dining experiences. All staff very pleasant with smiles and teamwork for the patrons needs.

top-notch bistro food in a casual atmosphere with attentive but not cloying waitstaff. the duck confit was prepared to a crisp perfection with deeply flavored lentils on the side, and the pot roast was what you hope for when you order comfort food. no corkage on byob is a big plus in wine country. come early or be prepared to wait for a table as the place was full at 6pm, but plan to come!

The only problem with the Fig Cafe is that we dont want to eat anywhere else. Great menu, wonderful food (the Hanger Steak is a favorite, and the fig and arugula salad, seasonal soups), and our favorite waiter Bruce. Glad the visitors have found it, the locals love it too. Bring your own wine from your days tasting for no corkage and your dinner is also more reasonable priced than most.

Dining here was an outstanding culinary experience. The fresh mussels with garlic bread and the thin crusted pizzas with creative toppings were delicious! Welcoming and familiar atmosphere and helpful staff. Also the selection of fine wines and the restaurants bring-your-own-bottle-policy did make a lasting impression. Looking forward to coming back again!

I had lunch with my brother at this place today and it was very good. I had the Chefs Burguer and he had the pizza (special of the day with ham, cheese and arugula). The place is very nice, service attentive, but it was not too cheap... Both dishes + 1 Diet Coke + 1 Ginger-Ale + 2 expressos amounted to USD 51,00 (20% tip included in this total).

We love the girl and the fig cafe for many reasons. One, the food is really really good. Two, the staff is excellent, they make you feel at home there. Three, the atmosphere is perfectly cafe and cozy. You can almost feel the excitement of the creek rushing nearby. Country flavor in just the right dose. Enjoy!

This place is amazing!!! Excellent food, no corkage food, chill neighborhood spot that cooks interesting delicious food. None of the pretention of napa but all of the glory. Rotating plat du jour and also a solid standing menu. Worth the trip to glen Ellen. They dont take reservations so show up early!

There were so many good reviews for this place I was really looking forward to eating here, but I was so disappointed. My flounder was dry and tuff, I actually had to use a knife to cut it. Service was super slow. I think our server went on a break. Wont be going back.

Besides the other great dishes, I dare anyone to order thier burger, and not like it. Actually, I double dare you. AND the fries are outstanding. Throw in the location, the ambience, and the service - bang, youve got yourself an evening.

Just had some apps for Thirsty Thursday but service was attentive, calamari was excellent (very good lemon aioli), and although they charge for bread, Parker rolls well worth it. The tasting of Leonard Wine Co wines was KILLER!

Raw pork chops served to my husband. It took an hour and a half to be seated. Our server was rude. We got cheese cake to go, which was soupy and looked like mush after our five minute ride home. We will NEVER go back!!

Great atmosphere, great food and no corkage...it doesnt get any better! The artisan cheese platter is amazing and I really like the variety of the plat du jour menu. If you are in the Glen Ellen area, this is a must.

Interesting place but I was quite disappointed. The Salmon was undercooked and the portion a bit small. The Persimmon desert very blah and dry. An average restaurant trying to be a gourmet dining place.

Locals version of The Girl and the Fig that doesnt take reservations. Food and wine (all Rhone varietals like its sister restaurant) are excellent, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

A very nice cafe, serving California Cuisine. Solid food and good service. A good selection of appetizers, salads, thin crust pizzas, pastas, burgers and other sandwiches, plus many entrées.

Like its bigger sister Girl & The Fig, the fig cafe offers a great menu full of fresh ingredients and a great wine list focusing on local wines and Rhone varietals.
