I still love this place! Review was written in 2010, but the food is still great! I still recommend their prime rib and their yummy cream corn! MMmMmmm.. Ive been to Summit House before for a wedding and I just couldnt get one thing out of my head since that day - their cream corn! Gosh darn their cream corn is sooo yummy! It was also unlimited cream corn which the waiter told me after I said there wasnt enough for this table! Then he told me what I wanted to hear and my eyes lit up! Hahaa.. it was like the never ending cream corn table! I thought after that day Id be cream corned out! lol! Besides the cream corn this venue is great for a wedding! The reception area and restaurant area are separated and the decor for both areas were really nice with a nice view of the city lights. Well, we came back recently to eat here for restaurant week and it was still delish as normal! We had a wonderful waitress named Conni (I know youre reading this!). We got there and ordered what we wanted and didnt waste any time. I just wanted some of that cream corn already! Haha! First dish, my bf and I both got the Summit Wedge salad. We love eating wedge salad and this was really tasty. The wedge salad was good, but it was not my favorite. My favorite wedge salad is still at Outback Steakhouse. Our second dish came out, I ordered the Prime rib and my bf got the Alaskan Halibut. I believe we had these same orders the last time at the wedding. The Prime rib was really tasty especially after I smudged their yummy au jus and horseradish all over it! Their prime rib is really wonderful, but I cant tell whether its better than the prime rib from Five Crowns in Corona Del Mar. Whatever it is, Im still content with this dish. It also came with cream spinach, yorkshire pudding, and of course the yummy cream corn! All of these sides were satisfying, especially the cream corn. Haha! My bfs Alaskan Halibut had panko bread crumb over it and it was in lemon butter sauce. This just made the dish just so delightful! His side came with vegetables, mashed potato, and the yummy cream corn! Now on to dessert, we had the Creme Brulee and the Summit English Trifle. The Summit English Trifle I couldnt finish after having my salad and entree. It was a cake that was soaked in rum and brandy with custard, strawberry, cream and almonds. I kind of like this cake without almonds. I didnt really taste the rum in the cake either. It was more of a filling dessert that I couldnt finish, but brought home! Some dessert for me tonight! Hehe.. The Creme Brulee here was phenomenal because it was pretty big, but I couldnt stop eating it even with a full stomach. I definitely didnt want to let the fresh vanilla bean go to waste! This was a great prix fixe menu for $30/pp! Great atmosphere, great food and great service! Better hurry on over and take advantage of Fullertons Restaurant Week because its almost over!

At the top of the hill, bordering on Bastanchury and State College streets it sits like a glittering Tudor crown offering 180-degree views of North and South Orange County. Many would say we are regulars at this luxurious dining venue, as the Professor with a raised tone says, "Lets go to the Summit" about 75-80% of the time. This declaration usually follows with a righteous rant about the Prime Rib special on Wednesday with Yorkshire pudding. I guess he is right on many occasions and another welcome benefit is "I never saw a nude foot in a Birkenstock owner wearing a soiled plastic bib there, so yes I agreed to go. Then I got my dress, heels (not the stilettos) and some light lip-gloss on and though I tried to put it off, a smile overcame me on the drive to Summit House. Now that I think of it (post smile) we have been celebrating some of the most cherished life moments at "Summit House" (birthdays, graduations, promotions, anniversaries, good and weird news alike). Along with getting in practice for jokes, sharing political humor and making plans for the future all while dining on linen and toasting with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. When we arrived we were cordially greeted by the Assistant General Manager Mark Fleshner and followed Marissa for romantic candlelit seating with one of our favorite twinkling lights view of South County at dusk. Usually we have a booth (see photos) but the table this time was perfect for me to lay out artwork, ideas, plans and comedy skits (some illustrated and others just scribbled in handwriting) and before we knew it the bread came with chilled butter in a ceramic ramekin along with our beverages. Shortly after the prime rib was served and someones face lit up pink and shiny like a child experiencing a piece of chocolate that was denied him for decades. The prime rib (as expected) was wonderful according to him; the spinach and Yorkshire pudding (a delicacy not often found in pedestrian dining) were good enough to be migrated in bits over to my salad plate. Thanks Professor. The house salad was delightful and crisp (and I did not have a feeling of be gypped for not ordering a meat based meal). We left smiling with remarks about extended service by Marissa and Gladys. Wonderful time and when in town, I will most likely not say no to an invite here. Consistently exceptional service, cuisine and elegant environment with piano music and no nude Birkenstock feet or diners with plastic bibs, yes! See you soon Mark, Marissa and Gladys.

$25 Prime Rib Wednesday! GET IT! When it comes to fine dining I absolutely love everything about Summit House. I first discovered this lovely restaurant when my friend had her wedding here. The restaurant sits on top of a hill in Fullerton so the view is absolutely stunning and the ambiance of the restaurant is very cozy and romantic. I called in to make reservations for this past Wednesday and requested for a window view so my date and I could enjoy the sunset from our table. When we arrived there was plenty of parking in the lot so absolutely no need for valet here. After checking in with the hostess we were seated right away. Our waitress made recommendations for different wine and we decided on two different red wine to pair with our meal. Since we wanted to take advantage of the special $25 Cottage Cut Prime Rib (originally $35) we each went ahead and ordered that medium rare. It comes with creamed spinach, Yorkshire pudding, and unlimited creamed corn. The Cottage Cut Prime Rib is about 8 oz of meat, plenty for anyone with a big appetite. It was cooked perfectly and the au jus on top made it even more tasty. The sides are comparable to Lawrys but it comes with the prime rib and the creamed corn (my favorite side) comes with free refills, so overall you are getting much more for your money at Summit House. Watching the sunset from our table as we ate was breathtaking. The restaurant was also quiet and so we were able to enjoy the piano music they played in the background. It created a very relaxing and comforting feel throughout the evening. The only reason for the -1 star was the ridiculous pricing of the desserts. We ordered the creme brulee and added berries, but little did we know that it would cost $15 for one dessert which is more than half the price of our entree! Although other than that I enjoyed the ambiance, food, and service we received at Summit House and would definitely consider coming back again to take advantage of the great offer on Wednesdays.
