From a small counter operation inside a grocery store (Dana Bazaar, now new India Bazaar - where they still operate), this chaat place has come a long way but maintained the food quality and authenticity (for the most part). Great for chaats - i usually come here for the Pani Pooris which are served Indian style (fresh made, one by one, as you eat them). Other chaats are pretty good too. The reputation has led to increase in prices, so its become a little pricey. And they only accept cash.

Great chaat, not so great service. They do not take phone orders (they take your order over the phone, but will only prepare the item after you show up) so that beats the purpose of calling ahead. They only accept cash, no credit cards. Mom and pop show, the owner lady makes the pani puri without gloves and then immediately tends to the cash register for payment. She switches back and forth, just rinsing her hand occasionally. Not good hygiene in the flu season. But the chaat is awesome.

I want to thank this establishment for peeling the boiled potatoes. There was clearly no other effort made to what was served. I have chewed on more flavorful pieces of cardboard. I would strongly recommend this place if your abstaining from all earthly joys.

A good place for chaat, but it gets very chaotic. It is a very traditional Indian chaat place, so lines and rules often go out the door. You may want to go early (like noon for lunch) in order to avoid the crowds. Cash only.

All the good reviews that I have read about this property are true. The friendliness of the staff seems genuine. I have never seen such good customer service as I experienced . Pani puri is really delicious.

Useless place, not good food quality, Prices are high, they dont cook fresh, It was bad experience. If I compare this restaurant with chaat bhavan, then chaat bhavan is far better then this one.

Best chaat in bay area. It is almost at par with good chaat that you get in India. Expensive, spicy but nice. Food is not out of the world but the only place where I enjoy the chaat.

Rustic "Dhaba" like atmosphere is great for a change. Orders are placed on a paper pad and payment is by cash. Food is spicy but tastes great. Prices are reasonably low.

I piece of pani poori varieties serves here are comes out of freezer which prepared long ago. The Potatoes and cooked Chana Giving Old Creepy Smell. Yak..

Cleanness is a issue. As it is family run & Auntys dont care regular hygiene. Even in India now a days good restaurants serve Pani Puri Wearing Gloves.
