As a native local of Encintas I would not reccomend THE SANDWHICH SHOP to ANYONE. I thought it would be a great suggestion for me and my partner to go eat lunch however now I am totally embarrassed that I brought him there. Our experience was abhorable. The owner and employees ruined my lunch by willingly and greedily taking my order without stating they intened on closing AN HOUR EARLY. As soon as we sat down inside where it was much warmer and more comfortable WE WERE LITERALLY PUSH OUT OF OUR SEATS AND TOLD TO LEAVE. Our only other choice was to sit down eat outside where WHERE AGAIN, WE RUDELY CONFRONTED BY THE OWNER and he pulled the table and chairs out from underneath us then we had no place to eat at all!. We were so upset we demanded our money back but he only gave us a portion of the total and locked the doors. Honestly, I felt sexually discriminated against because we were gay . This new establishment does uphold the the friendly laid back and extremely courteous Service I would expect in our town of Encinitas.

First time here, and ordering was a bit confusing. The menu board items didnt completely match the cashiers menu, so there was an awkward exchange during the ordering process, and the cashier just seemed unaware of the confusion. Even though items specified which ones were "hot" meat, and I ordered one that did not state "hot", I still received a "hot" sandwich. Of the three 4-person tables; one had 2 chairs, one had 4 chairs (occupied by a family), and the third had zero chairs. Apparently, they only intended each table to seat 2 people. The only other inside table was a 2-person (occupied). That left my family of three with one of us standing, until the other family left. Outside they have a bunch of tall patio chairs, but only 1 small table. So you would have to hold your food and drink in your lap if you wanted to sit. Not a pleasant dining experience. Food was ok, but a bit pricey for the lack luster experience.

My wife and I thought we would grab a sandwich here last Sunday so we leaned our bikes against the palm tree out front and headed in.I asked a young lady behind the tall counter about the bread options and she said there was a list down the down the end near the cashier.I walked over to the tall blonde mannequin looking female standing behind the cash register... Where are the bread options for the sandwiches?Oh we are nearly out of everything because the boss forgot to order more bread.Daaaaaah it was 12.25pm and its lunchtime baby and you guys have virtually no choices in bread.What else dont you have? Well for a start no bike rack and no umbrellas at the tables outside to protect your customers from the hot midday sun.This joint is being run on a dime budget.WE WILL NEVER COME BACK!

The place has over 20 different sandwiches so I had high hopes for something new and tasteful. Unfortunately it was not so. The sandwich was good, but not what was advertised. Instead of prosciutto I was served ham on top of turkey. Presentation was good, taste was average. I brought this up to the manager and was greeted with a smile and a "i did not make that sandwich, but I will talk to my partner" and so I was dismissed. Poor customer support.

Truly best sandwich in town. As a new Yorker I truly hate most every sandwich shop around. But this place is truly best value and best customer service in town. The owner is consistently present ensuring top quality sandwiches. They have an extensive menu and are open to changes and substitutions to any sandwich. The secret sauce is epic..reccomend this place to everyone. ALSO TRY THE HOMEMADE BREAD...

Too bad you cant add more stars when the place blows 5 stars out of the water.... This place makes the most amazing sandwiches and their Dutch Crunch bread is to die for! The owner and staff are super cool, friendly people. I enjoy coming here and I highly recommend this place to anyone. Oh and I should also mention that its worth the 50mile round trip on the weekends just to eat here.... it that good.

Wow, soooo good. We were blown away by the #2 Standard Sandwich (turkey, melted cheddar cheese, and more) on Dutch Crunch bread. Ordered it with all of the condiments. Amazingly good. Very friendly and helpful staff. Decor is bare bones industrial, but food was outstanding. Highly recommend. Limited parking out front, so consider parking under the building.

the place is amazing however truly unhappy that I come get a sandwich at 2:45 and i walk in and i get told by the girls working sorry we closed at 2:30 today. and no one answers the phone when I called so I drove there for nothing....best sandwich in town...too bad cant get it all day

Great place minus the super limited and bizarre hours. I swear the hours are just a created daily by a random number generator. If you show up for a sandwich during the hours posted on their website (11am-3pm), there is about a 50% chance it will be closed.

I find this place to be hands down my favorite go to sandwich spot. They really know how to make a croissant-wich! I recommend their tuna crois sandwich was is delicious! I also tried their salads which come in family sized bowls. Highly recommended!

The San Diego Chicken, the number 5, probably one of the best sandwiches Ive had in a long time. Chicken was juicy and moist and everything on it with a Dutch crunch bun was so yummy. Highly recommend. I was surprised by the price but worth it.

Great variety of sanwiches. The flavors are on point and I love saying I want to eat Eva Mendes. The house bread is great but sometimes it feels jagged enough to hurt.

The meatball sun didnt have a lot if sauce. The pastrami would have been fine but they cut it too thick and with the grain of the meat so it was really hard to chew.
