I heard all great and amazing reviews so we went to dinner at Sky Sushi tonight. Not that impressed. It was dark and dingy, not very welcoming by way of decor or ambiance. The service was fine and the waitress nice, but slow and forgetful ~ the water we requested only came just before we finished our meal and she brought us the wrong sushi roll, not realizing it until we notified her of the problem. The shrimp tempura in 3 of our rolls were cold and hard, not fresh, warm, crispy or appetizing. They were more like tempura that had been cooked earlier in the day and set aside to be "hidden" in rolls covered with sauce. Not at all appetizing. The scallops were seared, but tasted more like propane than seafood. The waitress explained that its because that is how their "seared" food is prepared. We asked her to remove it after both of us felt like wed wrapped our mouths around the propane tank and sucked in. Wasnt a highlight of the night. Ill take the few minutes extra drive and head to Mikunis like we originally intended, thanks.

Forget Mikunis, forget Arigato, forget any other sushi place in Sac. Sky Sushi has some of the freshest and most delicious sushi in the Sacramento area. We sat at the sushi bar so we could discuss the menu with the very knowledgeable, young chef. We described to him what we were wanting and he made recommendations that were perfect. He even made us a dish not on the menu, but something he created on the fly. All the fish/shellfish were very fresh. The scallops were especially amazing and succulent. The salmon roe was the best I have ever had. This was the first sushi place in Sac to actually have proper tempura...not fish-stick tasting like some of the other places (*cough* Mikunis *cough*). I highly recommend the "Melt in Your Mouth" roll and the scallop appetizer (but keep the scallops as sashimi, not fried). We will definitely be coming here again!

Being a local it is very hard to find a good sushi place. I could name a couple but that is about it, only a couple. I like to keep an open mind especially when it comes to food. And that includes the quality and taste, as well as the service. The atmosphere was great, definitely gave the peace and harmony vibe, and the decor was beautiful. The hostess was very slow considering it wasnt packed at all and she acted like she was bored. I kinda felt like she was hired just for a pretty face for when you walk in the door.Thumbs down. :-( However, the creativity of the rolls them selves were fantastic. They were a descent size for the price that they have. The quality was great. And the way that the flavors danced and exploded on your tongue was simply divine. Thumbs up :-) Ill definitely return again and suggest this place to others.

I spend several hundred dollars a week at Sky Sushi, that is I did until today. I went in for lunch and the place was absolutely dead. I aked to sit at a booth with my colleague but was informed that the booths are not for parties of 2. I told the hostess/manager that the place was dead and Id like to sit at a booth but was told I couldnt. Finished lunch and the booths were still unoccupied. Spoke to the manager and she continued to inform me that it was against their policy...no apology or anything. The food is good, but in this economy I dont think they should offend loyal customers.

This is a great local spot for reasonably priced sushi, friendly service, and a pleasant atmosphere. The rolls are a good deal with many of them marked as 1/2 price. The rolls are mostly original with suggestive sounding names that may make you blush (or give you a good laugh). The fish quality is very good for the price. There is better sushi, and there is cheaper sushi; but for the price quality trade off and the location, Sky Sushi is a good choice!

I go to sushi 3 times per week and this place never again. the service was slow and seldom. the menu was half off but the rolls were tiny and not anywhere near as good as any decent sushi restaraunt. I think the locals just havent been to a good sushi restaraunt so this place is getting far over-rated stars.

Great sushi for a good price! My fiance is a picky seafood eater, but this place makes him want to try everything (and that says something about how good their food is). Also their sparkling sake is great to have in case you feel a little adventurous.

The "go-to" sushi spot when paying the parents a visit. The perfect place to get good rolls without putting a hole in your wallet. If youre like myself and arent into the creamy, fried or sauce-drenched rolls, I recommend "The Hawaiian" roll.

Love the food. There are actually so many choices the menu can be overwhelming. Once you find your favs though, youre golden. Would be a five but its very loud and difficult to hold a conversation here.

The sushi is good, but not quite as good as other sushi restaurants in the area. Sky is a large establishment with plenty of tables and a really nice atmosphere.

The food is fresh and good. Prices are way cheaper than other Sushi restaurants. Service is great. Very busy on weekends so make reservations.

This is my favorite sushi place because the sushi is great, the prices arent high (probably $8-10 on avg), and the plating is very nice.

Only take resevations a day or more in advance, not the day of. Have changed their pricing on many items. Good food average service.

just moved up here from sacramento, and this place hands down is better than most of the trendy/well know sushi places in sacramento.

Some of the best sushi I have had. The "Let me take a selfie" roll is by fair my favorite. The prices are reasonable
