Great. Awesome! I was visiting Cardiff by the Sea, CA staying in the San Elijo beach campground on the other side of Hwy 101. I wasnt really feeling like cooking and all I had to do was walk 2 minutes to Lourdes and get some excellent, filling, tasty Mexican food. Everybody there was super friendly including the manager. The music was great! On my first day in California, they were playing oldies at Lourdes and "Hotel California" was playing ominously as I ate my Veggie burrito, which was generously heaped full with rice, beans and veggies! For breakfast, I recommend the chorizo and egg burrito accompanied by progressive Mexican rock like Mana and Café Tacuba. Okay, so the food is ordinary So.Cal. Mexican fare, which is a good thing...it is very good and filling after surfing, cycling, or just bumming on the beach all day. Most everything is less than $6 after taxes and it is tasty and spicy. Right. But what makes Lourdes great is that it is a brand new restaurant, it is super clean, it has great surf inspired art work, the music is really good, the people are nice, and you always get chips and salsa with your burrito. Go there. You know you must.

I dont usually throw around 5 stars, but this unassuming small chain Mexican restaurant impressed me with one of the better carnitas burritos Ive ever had. My girlfriend got the renowned chicken soup which despite its hot temp Ill commend as one of the better soups Ive had. Also, hands down the best hot/pickled carrots Ive ever had. I could eat a massive bowl of those things. Free refills on the fountain drinks and there is a standard horchata/jamaica/soda machines.

Lourdes is probably pronounced lōr-days but I call it lōr-dēs because the food is so good youll say "oh lordy". Not a joke. The flour tortillas are bomb! The soup is bomb! The tacos are bomb! The California burrito is bomb (in my top 5 California burritos of all time)! The salsa is sub par but the food is so good that you dont even need it. Totally worth a stop. Try the soup. Get some tacos. Smile because its amazing. Youre welcome.

Im new to the Encinitas area, and found a great little fast food mex rest where I can pick up quality food at great prices in less than 5 min. the service is friendly, and the food knocks every other place ive been in sd county out of the water, fresh, tasty and made to order the way I like it. they even have fresh tamales for 1.99, and said during the holidays theyll b serving pineapple tamales too! Cant wait!

GREAT Mexican food in the Cardiff/Encinitas area. I have honestly tried 1 of everything on the menu. Alex has great family recipes and puts his heart and passion into his restaurant. The chicken soup is what they are best known for. the PERFECT cure for cold season. The tres leches cake and flan(BOTH are made from scratch in the kitchen are a nice finish to any of his entres. Check it out for sure!

I have been going to the one in Escondido CA for years and years...So happy that they have a cool and hip location out by the beach....Food is great...And while I was there ..There was a steady stream of people...Lots of phone in orders....But food comes out quickly and it is very good.

Authentic and delicious Mexican food, felt like I was sitting in my grandmas kitchen. They have the best carne asada fries Ive ever had a Mexican restaurant. Salsas are delicious. The staff is very friendly. Very reasonable prices and you even get an ocean view.

Stuff members are very nice, polite & food taste great. My favorites are: Chicken Soup & Chicken Quesadilla Supreme. Carne Asada Burrito almost perfect, but every time just a little bit too salty.

Im eating the carnitas taco plate. it is very spicy of you throw some of their homemade habanero sauce on it. Much better than some of the local greasy Mex places around here.
