This was our first time and last time eating at Sierra Grill. We decided to try the restaurant. I am a busy person & don’t have time to post reviews, but feel obliged to share our meal experience. This was the worse BBQ I had ever tasted in my life. Scratch that, this was the worse meal I have ever had in my life. The service was great, up until the waitress asked how we liked our meal. I very politely told her that it was the worse BBQ I had ever had. She had this shocked look on her face and said, “Really”, then asked if I wanted a box? The corn bread was a flavorless corn muffin. The garlic mash potatoes tasted like instant mash potatoes, sprinkled with garlic salt. The meat was heavy on the BBQ sauce, which tasted like a sugared down Kraft BBQ sauce. The smoked beer can chicken had no flavor and was uncooked in the middle? After dropping off the check, we never saw the waitress again. The folder with the bill was duct taped together and no place to put our visa card. Another waitress had to ask if we were done so she could pick up the bill. We shook our head yes. I thought about speaking to the management, but were so disgusted at that point, we just left. We spent a lot more at Lucilles BBQ, but at least the food was edible. The sad part is that the ribs were tender, but buried in the a BBQ sauce that tasted like Ketsup, Tobasco & sugar. My husband ordered the Pulled Pork, which came in a mound of shredded pork on a plate, no bread or roll. It was also tender & nicely smoked, but doused in bland, tasteless BBQ sauce. Im still shaking my head in disbelief that nobody came to our table to see why we were unhappy with the meal or what could be done better?

Oh my gosh, our meal here was terrible and the service was even worse! The ribs were terrible! I have microwaved better ribs at home and we were pretty sure that was what they had done with the ribs and the rest of the meal! There were 7 people in our party and not a single person was satisfied with their meal. The service was horrible. My husband ordered a beer and ten minutes later when the server finally brought drinks for the whole table she told him that she had forgotten that they didnt have a license to serve alcohol. It took over thirty mintues to get out food and when it came it was COLD! Our server never refilled our drinks, which we asked her to do every time she came to the table, which to be honest was MAYBE 3 times. One of the people in our party actually said: There are hundreds of excellent servers without jobs and this one has a job? I looked at these reviews before we went and decided to give it a shot. Wrong choice! Dont make the same mistake I did! Head up the road to the Drooling Dog or down the road to Back Forty but dont eat here!

First let me start by saying I Read Samanthas Review before writing. please click on her name and notice how she rants about Auburn Commerce, Second, yet MOST Important!!! Notice that in her review of the Sierra Grill Smokehouse she mentioned that Her Husband Ordered a Beer and it took 10 minutes to get it!!! FACT... they did not have a License to serve any Liquor or Beer on the date she wrote. they got it 2 days ago (April 20, 2010) which tells me she Never had a party of 7 people. Therefore this Rant of hers is FAKE. likely a past employee of the previous owner. that said, May I suggest you do stop in an just watch the service there after a few minutes youll see what I expeienced. Fast service, plenty of food and refills and now beer etc... i had the Cowboy burger with Sweet fries, fries were light and flufy. the burger was great, my wife had the Brisket baked potato, stop by and write your own review. and Please Tell the Server your opinion as well. her livelyhood is in her/his service!! Customers must come first. All My Best, Don

Our waitress was nice, but I could tell she spent most of her night doing damage control around our area. My wife asked for a salad without croutons (she has gluten allergy) and she forgot, so she brought us another without them, but as my wife ate it she found a couple croutons still in the salad. While we were waiting for our dinners another waitress came by and snatched the steak sauce off our table to give to another party without saying a word to us. When the dinners arrived the sides (beans & potato salad) both tasted like they had too much vinegar. My wife had ribs that tasted like they had been sitting out all day. Overall it was a very dissapointing experience from a steakhouse that wasnt exactly cheap.

I guess this placed changed hands a few times and changed names a few times. Went once every time they got "new management". And goodness. The service was poor, the food was disgusting. I think they have their employees and friends filling out positive reviews for this place because so far, everyone from our church and community at Lake of the Pine has not enjoyed the food there. the BBQ tasted like microwave BBQ, just a little bit better than TV dinner. The food was cold and bland. My grandparents had the BBQ Chicken, I had the Ribs, and my wife had the steak. We all got a regular house salad and a round of beer. I would have to say, this is one of the worst places weve eaten.

Omg.....My first time here with my family. I ordered the caveman sandwich with fries and a salad. My mom had a ribeye steak with sautéed mushrooms, a Caesar salad and garlic mashed potatoes. They were both excellent entrees we coming here again. And for dessert I had the cheesecake which is to die for, and my mom had the lemon meringue pie the huge slice which is the best. Ask for Sandy she is the most friendly, caring and attentive waitress I have ever had and Im a sever myself. But she was just THE BEST!!!!! For those who dont know how to serve or your just the worst you should take notes from her.

Went on a Thursday evening, service was prompt and friendly. The restaurant has an attached bar, which has happy hour 4-6, was lively with locals. Pulled pork was some of the best I have ever had; the platter had a huge serving. Cold slaw was OK, Onion rings were very good. dinner Salad was fair. Prices are reasonable. Atmosphere is "Cowboy-Ranch-Cozy. We will return for the smoked meats! Bonus - had Sierra Nevada Torpedo bottles and Pale on tap.

Always a good experience here, and I love the way the staff is so kind to my elderly dad, John, and his sweetheart, Berti, when they go in. The salads are extremely good, as are the ribs. Good variety of beer, too. I particularly like the Cobb salad, which is loaded with chicken breast, bacon, avocado, and bleu cheese. Its enough for two meals, just like most of their food. The sweet potato fries are very yummy; give them a try.

Im never disappointed in the food, the service definitely needs work. No one is rude, and staff is friendly, but food and drink tickets have been lost both times I went. The other night we got sat right after the people in front of us, those people had their food and drinks before out appetizer showed up. The food has been good enough to bring us back each time, but dont be in a rush to get your food or check.
