Not ever again!! My wife and I will never return to this restaurant on Valentines Day. This Valentines day dinner was a disaster. My wife and I have been going to Bittersweets for years. Their food can always be counted on for quality and beauty of presentation. I know that restaurants count on nights like this to make their millions. But, dinner here tonight was like dining in a Jr. High Cafeteria. The noise level was incredibly high. I dont know why restaurants feel like they have to be held hostage to their customers. A miserable night could have been avoided if the hostess had told each table as they were being seated that " there is a busy night expected so if you dont mind holding your voices down, it would be best for everyone Please enjoy your meal." Once one table is allowed to increase its volume, then everyone else has to raise their voices and the sound level multiplies until the roar is so loud that two people, sitting three feet from each other, cannot hear themselves without yelling at each other. I felt so sorry for the wait staff. Everyone was rushing around as fast as seemed humanly possible. And yet, after we were served our meal, the next time we saw our waiter was 45 minutes later. It would seem that, as expensive as tonights meals were, enough attention should be paid to the customers. So, having said all of this, after yelling at each other for the entire time we were there, our Valentines spirit has long since evaporated. I feel almost apologetic for writing all of this. We just expected better.

So, the desserts are good. I continue to enjoy their trio dessert, but find the new "fantasy" to be a bit much. 3 desserts looked elegant and interesting, with 6 it looks like a toddler went crazy and made a huge mess. I also still find them to be incredibly overpriced for the quality of their entrees. The few Ive tried on separate visits have all been bland and uninteresting. One was a house special ahi dish that was around $35. The other was a more simple pasta with a cream sauce. I regretted both. Most of your money is going towards the atmosphere and service, with little thought on the food. Its about as upscale as you can get in Aptos, so thats pretty much the reason its still around. If you go here, Id say stick to the cheaper comfort foods like the burgers and sandwiches or a small, simple pasta. Youll still have some minor regrets, but wasting $10-15 is a big difference from blowing $30+.

Friday evening dinner for six at six p.m. took nearly a half hour after ordering to be served. The dining room was about half full at the time. At least we ordered apps to tide us over. In addition, servings came out two at a time at five minute intervals causing further dealy and others to politely wait. My beef stroganoff was served extemely hot causing further waiting for myself until it to cooled down. Then I found the beef to be tough and full of gristle along with heavy round pasta which was under cooked and impossible to twirl on a fork. The other diners found their meals unspectacular. To top things off, once I submitted my credit card for payment, I waited another fifteen minutes. Although I live very close by, I will travel a bit to get better results from my dining.

It was ok.....we got there at 5:40, ordered the "jalapeno poppers" that werent that at all...it was 2 jalapenos sliced in half stuffed with some kind of ground meat, no cheese and then topped with what tasted like the sauce they pour on sushi...very weird, would never recommend. I ordered a salad and my husband the chicken Sandwich , that was at 5:40....we didnt get our food until 6:40! He hated his sandwich because whatever sauce they dumped all over it was disgusting....all in all it wasnt that great. The restaurant was empty so the crappy food and service wasnt called for. Our bill was 71.00!! Wouldnt go back unless just for drinks..

Dinner on Friday night: no problem getting a place even without a reservation. Excellent salad if a bit pricey ($12). Entrees were OK, not spectacular. Small versions of the entrees are available--a nice touch. Friday nights there are wine tastings: four 4oz glasses for $20, a great value. Dessert (blackberry cobbler) was spectacular--one of the best weve ever had and plenty big enough to share! A bit pricey.

Great atmosphere, excellent wait staff. Last night, we sat on the outside patio, right in front of the huge fireplace, under a full moon. Sea bass and skirt steak dinners were excellent, as all meals Ive enjoyed here. Our waitress was knowledge and helpful and attentive. Her recommendations were spot on. And an appetizer from the sushi bar was good and gorgeously presentef

My southwestern benedict was delicious but not spicy like the menu stated; my Bloody Maria was spicier. The Chicken and waffles were stingy. We received service with a smile when we eventually got service, we waited quite awhile to get water. It seemed like other tables were having the same problem. Next time Ill try togo?

Bloody Mary had only a trace of alcohol if any. Traditional menu that wants to be av-ante guard and ends up being annoying. Waitress was pleasant but we had to ask as for a number of things that should have just been brought out to us like silverware, napkins, plates and syrup for our pancakes.

There was a indoor and outdoor dinning area & a bar area with about 5 different sports on. The staff were all super friendly. The nightly specials were what got us there and we were not disappointed. My partner is screaming at me while I write this make sure you recommend the Gnocchi!

Service is outstanding! Food is delicious! The skirt steak is the best Ive had. Cliff, the bar manager, knows what good customer service is all about. On one our visits there, he went way above the call of duty to make sure it visit was a good one.

We had a party of nine. 4 glasses had lipstick on them, food took an hour. I ordered a bloody Mary with an extra shot. Extra shot costs the smell as the drink. Honestly, 4 glasses with lipstick is gross and unsanitary.

Delicious and creative breakfasts & lunches. Especially enjoy the Huevos Rancheros with Pulled Pork Carnitas. Friendly, attentive and helpful staff. Outdoor dining especially inviting on a sunny day.

Large family reunion. Everything was great and the food was very good. Withheld one star because I was thirsty most of the evening; a bit slow on the service. We did have a large group though.

They have great weekly deals, but if you order in the bar vs. in the restaurant, they run different deals, and youre never quite sure what the final bill will be ; ( Communication is a downer

Ive been hwre a handful of times. I can overlook that the food and drinks are totally overpriced, but the consistently poor service just put me off.
