I ate here from the time it opened until I moved out of state 5 years ago. Have always loved the place! The food was more bland in the beginning but quickly became more flavorful and a bit more spice was added. The menu is great and varied. Their presentation is far from simple but served beautifully in all cases. You pay for great food, not chefs adding puddles of sauce and squiggles underneath their food to make it look more "gourmet" than authentic, as many restaurants are doing, seemingly trying to keep up with the pros and wanna-be-pros on TV. There are other two other Mexican restaurants I love, and will be commenting on later tonight, but here, a sit down restaurant with a bar, great margaritas and a good selection of beer, its a place I can only dream about from the Midwest where no one Ive found seems to know what Mexican Food is!

Food was okay, service was not so much. Seems they are much bigger than their kitchen can manage. We arrived and were told it would be a 20-30 minute wait, before we could sit down to wait they called out party. They seated us in a half full dining room, we ordered and munched chips and salsa... About 45 minutes later I was about to joke that we should cancel our order as I had filled up on chips, when our food arrived.

Best chips and salsa game ever. Regular food while big portions and nice look, lacked any seasoning and flavor. Had to throw on the salt and pepper and red salsa and Chile Verde and lemon juice to add enough flavor to compensate. Friendly staff and fair price for portion size and the guac was really good despite not being made to order. This is NOT authentic flavor, just looks like it.

I really enjoy this location. The servers are fast and friendly. You barely get seated and they will have chips and salsa on the table. They have great lunch specials and the food tastes great. I think Cal-Mex is better than "authentic" Mexican food. It may not be as spicy but you can add their salsa or ask for various sauces to get it as hot as you want.

The restaurant was clean and the staff polite. The menu was explicit but the steak salad I ordered was disgusting at best. It had big chunks of slimmy cold steak that was tuff and difficult to chew. I finally ask for a refund and got it. My husband got the enchalida plate at he said it was good. So just be careful what you order

If youre looking for authentic Mexican food, look elsewhere. That said, the food is still great, albeit overpriced. The staff is very attentive and is quick to bring out more chips/salsa, as well as your food. My personal recommendation are the beef Chimichangitas, they are to die for.

The food is a watered down version of what its supposed to be. The salsa tastes like it came from a jar (Think El Paso Salsa) and the rice from packaged seasoning. Not what I expected but seeing asked we went to Anaheim Hills for Mexican food I should have expected so.

Good food but I guess they r trying to save $$$. Asked them 3 times to turn on ac cuz the place was hot & stuffy!!! They adjusted ac but so little it didnt make much difference. We skipped dessert and walked out as fast as we could

Both my husband and I have had great service even at the busiest hours. We really enjoy their "Seafood Chalupa" We feel its like a Mexican version of a Cobb salad, very low carb meal if you dont eat the tortilla shell :)

You can not beat the price or quality when you stop by for Don Joses for Happy Hour. For two delicious margaritas and a tastey appetizer, I paid less than $11.00! Yum! Customer service is excellent too!

Just a good old standby. Try the chicken tortilla soup. Its typically as thick as a Chile and quite filling. If youre not a big fan of cheese, make sure to ask for light cheese on their combo plates.

They get one star cuz the beer was cold. If u have ever had real Mexican food this is not the place for u. Anyone with a Latin background will know Latin food and u wont find any here.
