Hidden gem with lovely atmosphere, croissant sandwiches, lattes and cookies. The outdoor seating in a location just off the beaten path makes it a serene place to enjoy birdsong. After only one visit I know I found the cafe Ive been looking for the past eighteen months. After being spoiled in Seattle, Vancouver and San Francisco Ive found it tough finding a little café I like near our office. Im happy to say that search is over. The owner knows coffee, and runs his shop European-style like all shop owners wish they could - so if youre making a long trip to visit here then call in advance just to ensure he hasnt closed shop early to go enjoy the day. Ive finally cracked the formula for coffee and snacks in the area... When you want a blue collar cuppa Joe and comfort food, go to Bagels & Brew, no question. If you want a lovely latté in a peaceful environment, then its City Perk, no question.

I asked if I could have foam in my latte and they gave me a five-minute lecture on why they couldnt do it. I wouldve been fine with their saying they didnt have any, but instead they went on a rant about the way they do things and have been for five years, and that they only provide foam with cappuccinos. "So dont expect foam, if you get a latte!" I thought the point of customer service was to please the customer, not the restauranteur, but apparently not at this place. And as if that wasnt bad enough they commenced giving me unsolicited advice on what type of milk Im *supposed* to have in my coffee, because apparently I chose the *wrong* type of milk. The prices are too high for this type of behavior, not that I would put up with this rhetoric at Starbucks either.

What a great spot! Love supporting this neighborhood coffee shop and cafe. The iced mocha is the best around! If youre looking for a special treat, try the homemade explosion cookie or a chocolate croissant!

I would love to try your coffee, but I have struck out. 3 visits always closed the phone number does not work. Do I need to find a mythological creature to locate a key to find the passage to your coffee?

Always have better days when I start it off with City Perk. Although the afternoon pick-me-ups are great too. Cant go wrong with this little gem.
