On Thursday, August 5, 2010 at 12:00 PM I joined a girlfriend at the Stoney Creek Inn in Dauphin, PA for lunch. I order a Pittsburgh Steak Salad medium rare. The steak was served to me raw & just thawed on the inside. Our server, Jessica, agredd after inspecting the meat that it was definately NOT meduim rare, but in fact RAW. After the server offer to bring me another steak salad, I decided to stick with a basic cheeseburger. I ordered the cheeseburger medium. The cheeseburger arrived within minutes of ordering & the inside of the cheeseburger was completely raw hamburger and unsafe to consume. I asked our server, Jessica, to inspect the meat & again, she agreed that the meat was in fact RAW. She apologized profusely and offered to bring me another dish. Idecided to stick with my cup of cream of crab soup & a Miller Lite. Approximately 20 minutes later, the owner stormed up to my table, proceeded to call me an idiot and said that he personally inspected the food and it was perfect. I requested he retrieve our sever, Jessica since she had also inspected the meat & agreed that it was inedible. The owner gave me a bill for the food we ordered & ate; however, he also included the food we had to send back to the kitchen. After I protested with him that I would not pay for food sent back to his kitchen, he threatened to call the PA State Police on me if I didnt pay the bill in full (inlcuding the raw steak & raw hambburger). Ulitmately, he agreed to remove the charges from my tab. I paid my bill & left the restaurant. I found out approximately 20 minutes later that the owner overroad the original charge to my credit card and ulitmately charged me for the FULL AMOUNT including the raw meat entrees. I have had to file a FRAD Complaint with my bank for the proper refund as this was theft on my account. I am concerned that this restaurant served RAW meat to me twice, verbally assaulted me and threatened to call the police if I didnt pay for this food. Not to mention, filing a formal fraud complaint for the overcharged card that was processed without my signature or knowledge leads me to believe there are serious issues with this establishment. This meat was unsafe to consume and the owner turned a blind eye to the situation and decided to insult me and steal from me. I have to say, I used to love The Stoney Creek Inn. It was a great escape from the buzz, noise & exhaust fumes on N. 2nd Street. The food was always OK. The service was always OK, BUT the deck along the creek was fantastic. Sadly....after this experience, I would never visit this establishment again.

A couple nights ago, my mom and I went to the Stony Creek Inn for a nice meal out on their deck on a beautiful evening. We arrived and gave our name for a table as the deck was crowded. So we went to the bar for a drink in the mean time. We waited for about 10 minutes until the bartender approached us without any sort of acknowledgment and finally gave us our drinks. He did not ask if we wanted to start a tab or cash the drinks out; in fact he disappeared for quite a while after that. We waited patiently enjoying our drinks in the nice weather but as more and more tables began to leave and no one was seated, we began to wonder why we were being ignored. After a little while longer, a few other people began to question the same thing and a waitress who overheard us talking, very rudely responded that the kitchen was backed up and we could either sit at the bar and finish our drinks or be seated at a table and wait for another 45 minutes there. Her attitude was so unbelievably unprofessional that we finally found the bartender, paid for our drinks and left. I have been in the restuarant industry for years as both a server and bartender and I know how unacceptable the entire staffs behavior was that night. Its a shame because I have had great service there before with a server named Corey but he was not working and these other servers ruined our experience. It is a wonderful location with a beautiful deck but it will be awhile until I give the staff and their unfriendly owner another chance.

I agree totally with Worst Employees EVER post. Recently had a very bad experience at Stoney Creek. The bartender, manager and owner were incredibly rude to our party who came to have a few drinks and appetizers at the bar on Sat. afternoon. Eventhough the bar was empty and the bartender told our party it was alright for us to order at the bar b/c our party included two children the bartender became very rude after we ordered and told us to leave the bar so his "regulars" we have some place to sit. The bar was empty at that point. Incredibly, the chef, a manager and the owner came and yelled at our party when we called the bartender on his rude behavior. They were very rude to paying customers and treated us like dirt. I have since become aware that other people have had similar experiences there. I would not recommend this place to anyone who wants to be treated with respect. SHOCKING and UNBELIEVABLE behavior by the staff at this place.!!

My wife and I recently had the misfortune of "dining" at the Stoney Creek Inn. If I can call it that. I should have just went up the road to Hardees, I would have had better food and nicer people to deal with. We waited an hour and a half for our food, during all that time our waitress came to our table once to see if we needed anything. When I finally went to the bar myself to get another drink, our waitress sees me and very rudely says "I will get that for you" When we did finally get our food the chicken was way undercooked. I complained to the waitress, and in the same rude manner she told me "that is how this dish is prepared". I told her I will not eat raw chicken. She would not send it back insisting that is how it is suppose to be. We got up and walked out and I will never return to that hell hole.

I have been here twice. Im always a little hesitant to come here because of the bad reviews regarding the service, the owners/manager, and the odd bad food review. Both times that I have been here, the service has been very good. My first experience was on the dining room side, service was prompt and the pork souvlaki was fantastic! My second experience I was on the bar side and ordered the shrimp santorini. Seriously amazing dish! Highly recommend it. We had the infamous and previously mentioned Tom as our server. He was busier than a one armed paper hanger! He was super rushed, brisk, but at the same time efficient, and spot on. So its all in your interpretation of his personality and how long it takes for YOU to decide. I do recommend this restaurant though!

Our experience at Stoney Creek Inn was not a pleasant one. We were very rudely greeted by the bartender. She was trying to get us to leave but I would not give her the satisfaction. The comments she made during our visit were very unprofessional and just unbelievable. I would have normally said something, but we have family along with us and did not want to cause a scene...plus that is what the bartender wanted us to do,and was not going to give in to her. I was going to call and complain , but after reading the reviews it appears that the owner is just as much a jackhole than his staff is. My advice is eat somewhere else....we will not support a business that does not appreciate its customers.
