My expectations were low after reading these reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised by my high tea. The sandwiches were tasty, especially the salmon and chicken curry; the scones were warm and a perfect surface for butter and lemon curd; and the red velevet cupcake was moist and delicious. Yes, the tea came in a tea bag, but it tasted fine. I had the roobios and really liked putting the sour (?) cherries in them, per the waiters suggestion. Speaking of which, service was very good. Our teapots were replenished with water without our asking and service was highly efficient. The decor was a bit futsy for my taste, but what the heck, its the Russian Tea Room!

I should already be asleep or up this late busy working yet all I can think of is the delicious salad & pasta cuisine at Pisticcis. Ive been craving for Pisticcis Fig Salad, a recipe Ive been trying to figure out but to no avail. Their Fig Salad are not always available but the combination of Mango, White Asparagus, Fig, Walnut and their special dressing is just simply heavenly (its not listed on their menu as well)! Their Prosciutto e spinaci is TO DIE for. Seriously, I would die to have some of that right now. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Pisticci is an amazing dining experience. Its probably my favorite Italian restaurant anywhere, and I dont say that lightly. If you are looking for a stuffy high-brow atmosphere, look elsewhere. The surroundings are warm, the lights are dim, and the food is to die for. All the food is made with organic ingredients (when possible). I always order the Michaels pasta, it is the best! The owner even supposedly built all the tables in the restaurant. Obviously, I love this place and will go back as long as I am alive and it exists.

1.) I love the food, because its delicious, authentic and so well done. 2.) I love the service, because the waiters are friendly, let you take your time and are actually able to describe the food and thus can help you with to make the right decision. 3.) I love the atmosphere because its casual and cosy at the same time. And a place with free live Jazz und Sundays cant be too bad. The only reason to not recommend this place is that I might need a table in the future.

PIsticci is a great place for Italian food that tastes like homemade cooking. My favorite dish is their spaghetti with meatballs, plain and simple. Its got a great deal and worth every dollar you pay for it. When you dine in, you can also split a huge bowl with friends or family. The decoration and feel of the restaurant is warm and the servers are super polite and friendly. Definitely a place to go to whenever youre in Morningside Heights.

Right by Columbia University, this spot has some of the best Italian food I have eaten in NYC and the seating goes on and on and on. I was surprised to find such a wide open space in the middle of NYC but there is plenty of seating here. I would highly recommend the Bolognese Pasta and anything with their fresh eggplant. There food and drink options are super reasonable and its not hard to get to from the AC or 1 trains.

If you are in NYC, do eat at Pisticci. Its a semi-hidden Italian gem, far from midtown and lower Manhattan crowds. But, this is a popular place, and does get crowded in its own right. The olives and cheese bowl with bread for an appetizer is great. Then try the orecchiette broccoli rabe and, if you eat meat, add the spicy sausage. An absolutely delicious meal! Servers are often friendly and personable.

Shhh... Dont tell anyone else about this place ;) Seriously great quality good, and reasonable prices too. No reservations unless you have a big party, so be prepared to wait, especially during the school year as this seems to be a Columbia favorite. The garlic bread with cheese is crazy good, as is everything else. The half- or full-carafe of their house wine is also one hell of a deal.

Arrived at 5:00PM just as the restaurant opened. Gave the hostess our names and said one more person would be joining us. She said, "only completed parties could be seated", so we sat at the bar and had wine. At 5:25 our guest arrived and we were told that the wait for a table would be "one hour minimum". She was adamant, NOT at all pleasant or even apologetic, so we left.

Excellente adresse Pas de pizzas au menu mais peu importe. Les pâtes sont très bonnes , le prix abordable (entre 11 et 16€ lassiette de pâtes ) et le décor soigné ... A recommander

One of my favorite places to eat in NYC. We found this place while living in Morningside Heights during an internship, and have frequented it ever since. Each of the 5+ times weve been, the service has been fantastic and incredibly friendly. Im a spaghetti addict so I get the standard spaghetti, with the added meatballs (which make the dish, along with the sauce).

Italian comfort food. Im particularly into the pasta with broccoli rabe, but the maltagliatti with lamb is also great, as are the meatballs with polenta. The seasonal fig salad is sort ofn legendary, and rightly so. Also: uovi del campo and lemon ricotta pancakes at brunch. All this, plus cocktails and wine, too, and reasonably priced.

Sure, maybe you dont need to take a trip all the way out here from some other neighborhood, but this place is great. Food is great, atmosphere is like your own living room not really like a "destination" restaurant for decor snobs. It is comfortable inside which isnt always what some NYC foodies are looking for. Great bargain.

I love the atmosphere of this place, and I love that it is a little tucked away (on a side street, in a basement) The food here has never dissapointed me. Nice Italian fare, not too heavy. Interesting specials. Service is also consistently good. Unfortunately, as a student, the price makes it a once in a while only affair.

This says everything about why I love Pisticci: I pass this restaurant almost every day, and it always cheers me up to see friends enjoying good food in good company. Its such a happy place. The delicious food, friendly staff, and warm atmosphere make it a special restaurant to enjoy with those you care about most.

We had some wine and food here. The vibe was quite good, and the music was just about right in intensity, neither too loud, note too weak. The food was good, with very fresh and good quality produce. The wine was also okay. What ticked us of is that we were charged a 20%to on the total bill which was outrageous.

As authentic as it gets in NY. I felt like I was in Rome eating in some well kept secret restaurant that only Italians were allowed to eat at. The pastas were wonderful and the use of unusual shaped noodles even made it better! The antipastos, soups and salads were equal to the entrees! 5 STARS!

A cozy, almost living room-like atmosphere, reminiscent of the old Village, before it became chic. Wonderful service, and if tables arent available (it fills up fast and they only take reservations for parties of 6 and over), you can eat and the bar, whose tender is a great conversationalist.

Amazing veggie burger and sweet potato friesssss! They also have great drinks and the vibes are great. Staff is always nice too. They also have a hidden spot downstairs for weekends and maybe private parties? Its dope. Overall, small and cozy but great food and drinks at reasonable prices.
