Let me start by saying I am a long time member of the community and have been a loyal customer since their opening. I have a bachelors degree in food service and restaurant and have worked in many aspects of the food industry, and am still currently management in the hospitality industry. I decided to meet my mother for dinner at Heritage diner because we could not decide where we wanted to eat and knew Heritage is a reasonably priced restaurant with a good selection of fresh, quality food based on over a decade of experience dining here. This evening that couldnt be further from the truth. Almost everything came out of the kitchen was not bad, it was inedible. I ordered the chicken cordon bleu dinner. The only thing I could eat was the "Greek salad" which was a bowl of lettuce several slices of cucumber and green pepper and a handful of olives and feta. The next thing that came out was the "fried calamari". I Attempted to eat 1 bite out of curiosity and obligation and could not. Clearly frozen, artificial, under cooked and swimming in grease. My mother was brave enough to try one piece and needless to say the whole dish went back to the kitchen. My final course was the actual chicken cordon blu. In my professional experience it was fake chicken, processed ham, microwaved, swimming in a salty sauce and topped with a disgusting amount of cheese. The dish looked like a dirty diaper and tasted even worse than one. I wont even get started on the mushy, over cooked rice (most likely microwaved also). My mom ordered a grilled chicken entree with a side of sautéed spinach. There was so much oil in the bottom of the plate we probably could put Exxon out of business if we brought it home with us. Unfortunalty we received the whole bill even though most of the food was not consumed. This is ok, I work in the business and certainly do not expect something comped however I felt responsible to relay the outragesly poor quality of the food to the owner/manager while paying the bill in hopes that he would take my advise and look in to it as to not give future customers as poor of an experience as we had. The gentlemen at the counter could not care less. Barely and apology and no acceptance of guilt. Again in my professional opinion Heritage diner needs to either stop cutting corners or close their doors or sell their business to someone who actually cares because clearly the current ownership has given up. This long time customer is taking Heritage diner off of their list of "go to" restaurants.

My 1st visit was mediocre so we decided to give it another chance. It was a mistake. Right off the bat the water glasses had foreign particles floating around in them. I know its fairly standard to have water brought right away but I prefer to be asked so I can request lemon in it. As for my linguine and white clam sauce, it was the worst I ever had. More like linguine and some kind of clam chowder. Had to ask for the grated cheese and no bread on the side for dipping. Even pizza parlor take out gives garlic bread with any pasta order, without asking for it. My guest ordered quesadillas which were lukewarm and had to ask for the salsa and sour cream. The most basic of Mexican cuisine condiments. Cmon.! Im not one to dole out negative reviews that easily but this time I thought it to be necessary. These two common dishes are not rocket science and it doesnt take much to up the level of service and attention to detail that patrons deserve for their money. The irony of it is we missed the turn and couldve continued on to the Rocky Point diner but turned around instead. Never again. My $.02.

Firstly, ants. There was an ant on the booth I was sitting in and also an ant on the saucer of my coffee cup. When we told the manager he said "I know, its the season". Okay then... Next, service. Paula was our waitress. To say she was brief is an understatement. Her "service" consisted of quickly taking our order, and abruptly walking away before wed even finished ordering. Delivery of food was Paula plopping the plates down and waking away. There was no "can I get you anything else?". When she did come by to check on her tables, she asked the one in front of us, behind us, and beside us, but skipped our table... Just the worst service and customer service Ive experienced in a while. If youre not a "regular" here, dont expect anyone to pay attention to you.

3rd time Ive gotten sick, Im done. Took my Mom here for dinner since we both wanted breakfast food. We both ordered pancakes. My Moms description suites our food best, "they tasted like they were cooked on a grill that other food had been cooked on, and not cleaned". They had a bit of a "grilled" flavor to me too, but I ate them anyway. I should have gone with my first instinct. During the night both my Mom and I became sick with stomach cramps and nausea. This is the third time eating here has resulted in stomach issues. I will not be returning again.

The other reviews must be from either employees or family because this diner is not special. It is your typical, average diner and the food is average as well. They do have an extensive menu however I would prefer a smaller menu with above average food. The atmosphere and interior is just as bland as the food. I would drive past this diner as there are better ones just down the road in either direction.

I dont know what "Google User" is talking about in reference to hamburgers. Ive eaten here many times. I think they make great diner burgers. Ive had some Greek dishes as well that were very good. I dont know the owners so I guess that makes me neither friend nor family.

If I could give it a zero I would. The food came fast but was ice cold for all of us. The waitress was nice but all others were abrupt, rude and unprofessional. When asked a question of the owner we were told to go at home and eat.

The food is good the waitresses are very friendly you always get large portions. Only thing they could do is offer more vegetable choices. Its always stringbeans that are not to good or steamed broccoli.

Pra quem deseja conhecer um autêntico "American diner", essa é uma ótima opção.

Ate here once and I thought it could be better. Too many items on the menu for a diner, services can definitely be better but if local is what you want youll get it here.

Decent facility. Service OK. Long wait for food. Turkey burger was sub-par. There is NO lunch menu. This place is unjustifiably pricy.
