I am extremely disappointed with this place. My husband and I arrived at 4:10 pm as stated on our check as pointed out by their rude manager. When we arrived we were given menus by the waiter who basically just handed it to us and walked away. When he came back 5 minutes later we said we would like to take part in the buffet special, he said no problem took the menus and walked away. From the moment my husband and I arrived and sat our table, not once did they every replenish the buffet, with the exception of naan. All that was left was basically the scraps from earlier that day. To be more specific, literately 7 pieces of chicken, rice and just plain sauce from dishes where the main ingredient was already gone. I didnt think much of it because I imagined they would replenish it so we waited around, however that was not the case. When the waiter finally brought us the check I expressed my dissatisfaction with the service and he simply just walked away from me. I then approached the manager and express my dissatisfaction once again and he basically told me that was my problem, that the waiter asked if we wanted anything else, which is true, but again there was nothing left but rice pudding. I tried to explain to him, that I was not upset with that fact that we just paid $12 to eat rice and sauce, but instead because they should be more clear when their buffet service ends. If I would have known that they do not replenish the food after 4pm or so then I would have made a better informed decision on my food choice. The manager basically mocked me and said I had no right to complain because I was their since 4:10 and I had 20 minutes to eat from the buffet. Although, this is true, "eat from the buffet" is not what I would call eating left over scraps, not to mention we had no water at our table for 90% of the time we were at this place. Its a shame that they have such terrible service and their manager lacks the skills to handle customer complaints.

TERRIBLE !!! This restaurant dont even deserve 1 star Yesterday I ordered malai tikka and samosa chat for pick up. Manager packed the take out for me and I asked for fork to eat kababs, but manager did not find a single fork and insist me to take the food without fork, i told him how we can eat kababs without fork, I told him if he dont have then give me the metal fork, then he went inside for more than 7 minutes , I was waiting outside, then he returned with a single fork and gave it to me, by the time samosa chaat get cold and eatable, I still came back to my place, When I I opened the kabas to my surprise there is no mint and sweet chutney. I called the manger and told him, what he did, and no apology from him, and asked me to come and pick up the chutney, I said no and told him to deliver and gave my address and send me ASAP then he said it will take at least 10minutes ( my place is only 10 shops away) , I was so upset and hung on him. and ate the kabas without chutneies and I threw the samosa chaat in garbage because it became soggy. After 20 minutes his delivery man came with chutnies and I told him take it back to your manager. Horrible experience, not going back. This restaurant is not good any more, I think Owner dont come here any more, only this rude, disrespectful manger is there, he must learn the customer satisfaction training.

Went there for my Dad’s Birthday and is one of the worst restaurant ever. The waiter was pushy with ordering the starters and main course he constantly came over asking us are we ready every 2 to 3 minutes. It felt like he was trying to push us out for the next batch of customer, even through the restaurant was half full between 6:00pm – 8:00pm. The bathroom was filthy and is at the point of unusable. I would consider it as an hazardous condition, and my wife told me the same thing about the ladies room. The place only takes cash and if you have more than 5 people there is the mandatory gratuity, pretty much got us by the balls for horrible service. The main course were all delivered at separate times and when they mess up serving the order they try to switch it with no concern with the other orders that was eaten. There was no attempt to satisfy the customer. Also when ask for recommendation the waiter replied by saying “everything is good,” what the hell kind of response is that. Only thing positive is the food is authentic. I will never go back again, and I will deter those who are planning to go. Definitely did not get my monies worth and someone should look into the cash only operation.

Ive been going to Jackson Diner for just about as long as Ive had a mouth. Love the Sunday Buffet. Its a way to try it all and find a favorite if youve never really tested Indian food beyond a random curry or two. The trays come out fast and furious so no old Paneer here. As for the Service they honestly get such a high turnover/have become a bit of a destination to try Indian Food that on the Weekends and High Traffic Times you can feel neglected. Ive been here on the odd Monday or Wednesday and given the time to spend with you they are quite attentive and willing to explain anything on the menu. They can also adjust the heat levels in the curries from polite to exceptionally ignorant at your request. The dining room has a great amount of space and the restaurant is best with a group if you are ordering off the regular menu. They have a selection of Wine, Beer and Faux Indian Inspired Cocktails (Im not being snippy because they wouldnt just put rum in my lassi I swear).

Today i was asked to come out to lunch with my Hindu colleague. He took me to Jackson Heights and to this diner. At first I thought "I hope this place is half decent" and to my surprise it exceed my expectations. Mind you, this is "no-frills" type of place. The main attraction here is, what it should be, the food. So here are my thoughts on this place: Pros - The food was freshly made and rotated often. - The focus was the food with a few typical "India" touches. - Buffet hours are from 11am - 4:30pm - Staff was quick to remove that empty plate. - Easily accessible via subway (E, F, M, 7). Cons - Where is my "roti" peoples!?!?!? We had to ask for it!!! - Bathroom is extremely tight. - Price can be anything but a bargain for some ($11 +/-). Verdict Will I come back??? Yes and I will bring some friends with me also.

Weve had the lunch buffet a few times which was good for value ($8) and tried it for dinner after not having visited for about a year. Unfortunately it was absolutely awful and to add insult to injury, expensive. They have really changed for the worse. The Lamb Rogan Josh was bland and watery with minimum meat, the Chicken dish was advertised on the menu as being in a spinach sauce, but turned up with zero spinach and the Sag Paneer we then ordered as a side was bland and lacking Paneer. Food cooked with no care and no respect for the customer. Very disappointing.
