We are new to the area so we were looking for a nice place to go for a good satisfying meal. I wasnt sure I was in the mood for either Mexican cuisine or BBQ. But let me tell you, this place is honestly amazing. It has the best salsa I have ever had in my life. It wasnt like your typical restaurant style salsa, usually very watery with lots of chunks that are hard to keep on a chip. It was thicker, it would coat the part of the chip you dipped in it and it seemed like it may have been really finely chopped ingredients. I got a very large burrito that was absolutely amazing. it was packed with beans and rice and ground beef (the meat I chose to have in it). They had a bunch of meats from chorizo, to beef and chicken, to brisket. My wife got the chicken enchilada and for once the chicken in it was not dry or tasteless, it seemed very much like they may have had BBQ chicken in it and it was completely awesome. We split a piece of tres leches cake and it was amazing. If Im not mistaken the whipped cream was made in house as well judging by the consistency. It definitely didnt seem like out of a can. If it was bought by them, it must be the bougiest whipped cream on the market, it was really good.. The service was very good, there was only one waitress (we were there around 2pm) but she attended to our every need flawlessly. Our food was quick to come and the place had a nice little charm. There was seating outside which may have been nice, but it was very hot today so we sat inside. The inside temperature was very cool, I loved it. I would say that it may have been cool enough to bring a sweatshirt if someone gets cold easily, which is a reason it earns a star right there. I like it cool and even my wife found it a perfect temperature inside probably due to fact it was hot out today. The prices are fair and they run a full gamut of foods and prices. Some things were as you would expect. I got a quesadilla for a starter and it ran about $9, which is what you would pay anywhere for quesadilla. They had a 3 lbs burrito which would run you $32 and full rack of ribs would run you about $30, which is on the surface expensive, but a good price for that much food by anyones standards. I got like a jumbo burrito which ran about $17 but boy was I stuffed when we were done. Go there, you wont regret it. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. It may change on my next visit, but its going to be hard to live up to such a good first visit no matter what.

Heard so much about this place, that I finally decided to make a trip out since I was craving BBQ. As a preset, I have traveled the country and experienced BBQ from all over so Im making this review in comparison to what I have experienced so far from y travels. First, as you enter, you can see how small the place is. Not much seating, which isnt a problem, but the decor itself bland. No greeting area, you walk right into the dining area. I was greeted warmly as I walked in and was seated within a few minutes of walking. Large plain tables at least give you a lot of dinning space if you are a party of 2 to 4. Service overall was mediocre. While Friendly, Towards the start of service we were barley visited. When dinner arrived, we did get more attention. The staff was at least friendly and our food came out in a timely manner. Now for the food, get ready to spend anywhere from 20-30 dollars easily for dinner. You do get A LOT of food for the price, which is pretty savvy. However the meat itself left much taste to be desired. Between my Fiance and I we had the opportunity to try their Wet Spare, Wet Baby Back and glazed Beef Ribs (their special for the night.). The Beef ribs were a bit bland. You could taste the glaze, but the meat it self had no flavor to it. The Spare Ribs were over cooked (You could taste too much char on the skin) and the Baby Backs were very dry. Again both were rather bland. I threw a bit of hot sauce on each to get some spice and taste to it, which did help to enhance the flavor, but it was disappointing I had to come to that point. I took the Corn Bread and Rice and Beans side. Rice and beans were pretty good, but the Corn Bread had a very dry and stale taste to it. Some people enjoy this, but I prefer a more moist corn bread. Over all, it was a decent experience. I did get a lot of food for my money, but it could have been better. I have been to Ribs shacks in the south which look nicer to eat at, but it wasnt a dump. Parking was difficult (come early if you want to find any). I can see myself coming back with friends who are starving, but not often. Wouldnt come to impress anyone, just when hungry.

I am a pretty big fan of BBQ, and other than this place, I am typically left with Brazilian BBQ in this area. So there isnt much competition, but if there were, it would be hard to beat Grub Hut. All the BBQ is great and authentic, though some things could be a little more smokey. I saw someone say the ribs were bland, but I would be curious to see which ones they tried. I was never disappointed, and their are always rib specials specials offering more than what is on the menu. The Tex-Mex is great as well. I always have a hard time choosing between the BBQ and the Mex. One time the chicken used in a burrito was kind of bland, but I have had it many times with no issue. Again, always some Tex-Mex dishes on special that are not found in the menu. The wings are a must try. Though come hungry, there was a bit more than needed for the two of us. Apparently the people who pay for Zagat are rather prissy. I dont understand the negative reviews coming from there, and one is quite comical. "Wow, The positive reviews must be from the owners! The food was average and the decor was horrible! They had a cheap picture hanging showing a bowl of pulled pork that resembled a brain. The picture creeped my wife out so bad she lost her appetite." Would you really go to a place called Grub Hut for the decor? All in all, I would give it 4.5 stars if it were an option. Its not the best BBQ, but its really good. The service is superb. The place is clean. The prices are right. The Tex-Mex beats many other local options, and while I do not rate restaurants on decor, I find it to be quite fitting.

I do tons of traveling all over the U.S. so I had to hit this place due to overwhelming reviews, my conclusion from a scale of 10 being the best: I ordered steak burrito and was recommended rib tips... 1. steak burrito: 4 = steak should normally be skirt steak, this was not skirt steak. Texture was OK and had some taste which is only reason I gave it a 4. 2. Rice (came w/burrito dinner): 4 = OK. It didnt have an authentic taste. Tasted like box style rice. 3. Black beans (came w/burrito dinner): 9 = Very tasty! 4. Rib tips: not yet rated, I took it to go so I can eat later tonight. OVERALL: Appearance: burrito plate looked like it shouldve been framed, very neat: 10! Salsa was something else, I never had salsa like that before, very different. Price: for 22 bucks I got lots of food! Id rate: 8. Attitude: I mentioned I was new to restaurant, waitress was not 100% helpful. Atmosphere: Clean and nice aroma, flat screens were nice but they could increase in size a bit.
