Absolutely one of the worst restaurant experiences I had to endure. I had a very poor experience, not once, but twice 1. First poor experience-I’ve been to the restaurant few times before the poor experience and didn’t have major problems, though I thought the service was poor , but nothing to report. I remember walking to the restaurant with my wife and had the server seat us . Few minutes and it might’ve been seconds we start feeling really cold. We come to realize there is a hole across from where we sat that was open to the outside. This was in the winter season, if your from Michigan , or up north you can imagine what that feels like. My wife was shivering ,but didn’t want to leave and hate the idea of my complaining, but I did anyways. I can remember how it was received exactly , but I can remember it wasn’t positive. 2. Most recent experience was tonight actually around 8:00 PM we decided to grab some Sushi, I went with my wife and we both had our own individual wraps which we loved. We decided to try something different, an additional wrap, which we didn’t like. I talked to the waitress who was not attending to us from the start and I’m not going to get to that because it’s a differ t story . The waitress was not there form the start, he was not directly talking to us, he was doing other things while trying to take our orders, not to mention talking in foreign language with other waitress while we sanding there. So we tell him finaly that we don’t like it and it was okay to order something else, he said it is and he wasn’t going to charge us for the roll . He then told the Chef , which Is not the same person who mad our other two rolls. The chef came really strong with a mean look and attitude. The neighbors thought he was joking when he asked “ are you sure this is what you want “ in a very condensing manner. The neighbors tried to diffuse this by saying “ he is joking” to which the Chef replied, “ I am not joking “ twice. I felt awkward and didn’t know what I did wrong to deserve this type of behavior. I tried to ignore the situation and asked for a different role when I really felt offended when he asked “ are you sure this what you want “ more than once. I sat down in my chair boiling while he was making the roll and other orders until I decided I should not put up with it so I asked for the manager. I discussed my concerns which she seems to be professional about it for the most part and apologizing , but this quickly changed when she saw new customers and pushed me a side without giving direction for me to what to expect. I went back and sat on the table/stool. I then didn’t hear from anybody , so I decided to move to the front and asked for my bill. They did however remove everything I didn’t like from the bill . I think this place have a poor management as shown not only by the staff , but the management team . I’ve vowed to never come back again and go somewhere else. Luckily there is another Japanese stake house down the road called Ichiban, I’ve been there once before and they are okay . There is also another sushi place off Hall road, can remember the name .

Ive been here coming since I was like 10 years old, and it has been my favorite restaurant until my last visit as of 2 weeks ago. I decided to take my family out on a nice dinner for my mothers birthday. I just got home after spending a whole year in Thailand training Martial Arts. So I haven’t seen my mom over a year. I am only 21 years old, so Osaka is really not in my everyday budget. The chef was completely racist towards white people, he kept making comments that made my family and I feel very uncomfortable and unwelcomed. Trust me I can definitely handle some jokes, but he was crossing the line for sure. They also didn’t even celebrate my moms birthday and the other birthday lady that we’ve shared a table with. On that night, I have seen the other tables getting desserts and a picture for their birthday. While our chef could care less and totally forgot about us. Trust me, I am not a guy who has white pride or anything ridiculous like that. I just think it’s not right to pay for an expensive dinner and get treated like we’re at Mcdonalds or something… So I am very disappointed on my last experience. I have been loyal customer ever since they’ve opened.

Great food and atmosphere. Chefs are friendly and make the experience better. One issue I have a problem with and have had this happen 2x where we literally cancelled our sushi order and left the restaurant... Im married with a 5 year old child. The wife and I went into the restaurant and chose not to eat in the hibachi area. We placed our orders for sushi. Our child will not eat sushi (not many kids that age would Id gather) so we requested noodles from the hibachi and were willing to wait until it was feasible for them. We were denied. Fortunately the first time it happened the manager (recognizes us because we go there often) took action and accommodations were made. Thought that was great and our child enjoyed eating with us. The other times we did the same and were told no by the server. She essentially shrugged her shoulders when we pointed out the child with us... So we cancelled our order and went to Ishiban japanese steakhouse instead. They had no issues with helping out and we enjoyed a meal there. Osakas is a great place, by they arent as accommodating as they could be and our request wasnt anything difficult or unreasonable.

The first clue to this place as not being authentic is the Chinese waitress dressed in Chinese garb. Im of Japanese heritage. I ordered the Tempura Shrimp. They were large and so was the portion, however they were VERY OILY and bland tasting. My husband ordered the Teriyaki NY Strip. I Thought it would be grilled but it wasnt. It was served on bean sprouts with red and green peppers and onion covered in a sesame sauce. I never had food like this in Japan. The entrees were served with a very weak tasting miso soup. The salad was a typical lettuce salad with their house dressing. The house dressing was very tasty but they drowned the salad with it. I see all the previous reviews have been since 2009. This was our first time there. This place must have changed.

I really love going to this place. Usually the only thing that will ruin the evening is getting stuck next to some jackasses that have no manners whatsoever when it comes to talking about things you DONT bring up at the dinner table (oo maybe hookers..blow...screwing virgins...this from doctors..). Anyway I digress. The food is great. Ive been there 3-4 times now and never disappointed by the food. The hibachi fried rice is tasty. The salad they serve has a sweet carrot type dressing on it. Again good. Ive also had the gyoza (sp) once and it was equally delicious. Typically I get the hibachi steak & chicken. Not bad for $20 really. Also a few pieces of hibachi shrimp come with every hibachi plate to sample. Very tasty! All hail the white sauce!
