I visited casa real with a couple friends of mine. Opinion of the food for all of us was solid. Cant argue with the quality of the food. However for some reason my service was terrible. My two other friends had proper attention but I felt like the odd man out. Examples include: made it clear I wanted no salt on my margarita, got a ton of salt. Asked for sour cream with my tacos, guess what? No sour cream. Asked for a water when the young man came back to check in (which wasnt often). He went and got refills for my friends but didnt bother getting me a water. After dropping the refills off one of the other people at the table reminded him I asked for water. Minutes later he comes back with the checks. Any water? Hell no. I wanted to love this place after the food quality. But I couldnt. I wont be back and if anyone reading this visits casa real expect good food, however if you get a young man as your server (Ill leave names out of the review) be prepared to repeat yourself many times over if you happen to be the one at the table he ignores. Unreal.

My family and I have been going here for many years and have always like the food but will no longer be a customer. We walked and were ignored by staff for 5 minutes before being seated, then we were seated and waited 15 minutes not having one person come over to ask us for drinks or being given chips and salsa. We walked out after such awful treatment and went to complain and they were several waitress standing by the pop machine on their phones doing nothing! There were only six or seven other people there and were three or four waitress. Everyone working here today should be fired and should be ashamed of their service. Terrible resturant and will never be going back.

My husband, parents, friends, co-workers love this place. It is the go-to for our night out, family functions, work parties, etc. The food is truly authentic and delicious. My husband and I get the shrimp fajitas or chicken fajita nacho, and it is enough for two meals! The food is always fresh and cooked to perfection. It is always fresh and the most amazing meal in town. The grande house margaritas are the best in the mid west. And the chips & salsa are awesome. Service is always unbeatable and wish a smile. The overall ambiance is what a restaurant should be. Cant say enough about Casa Real!

How this place managed to get over three stars literally blows my mind. The atmosphere reminds me of a tacky childs themed birthday party and the staff were sitting on their phones in front of customers. I would let all of that go if the food was actually good or at least decent, but it was far from. In my experience it was borderline disgusting. The rice, lettuce, sour cream, sauces - every part of my dish tasted like a store bought disappointment. You could get way better food for the exact same price just a couple miles down the road at sagebrush.

Ive gotten take out from here on three separate occasions, every time that i order i explain that i have a cheese allergy and every single time they completely ignore me. This time i even went a step further and asked the lady who gave me my food to double check, and make sure there wasnt any cheese. She assured me that it was cheeseless.Thankfully i check my food prior to eating it, but this could be bad for someone a little less careful. Needless to say, after this third time being ignored i will not be returning.

I was skeptical when this Mexican restaurant opened a few years ago in downtown Oxford, but their wonderful service, great food and festive atmosphere have kept us coming back. The food is delicious, and their menu is surprisingly complete and authentic. Great for a date night or family get together. Prices are really good, and portions are pretty big (even for my husband!). This restaurant has helped breathe new life into downtown Oxford, and I hope to see it flourish.

This is by far our favorite restaurant. The food is excellent and you get a lot for what you pay for - also complimentary chips and yummy salsa!. They dont mind if you have special requests / orders. Great service - both from the wait staff and those who bring the food to the table. Maybe its because we are there a couple times a month, but they remember what we like to drink and our preferred dishes too. Its clean, and though slightly dark, has a festive atmosphere.

I only gave this one star because there wasnt any other lower option. The other day I went into the Madison Heights location and say one poor girl who was the only waitress. The "manager" was arguing with the guests because they didnt know an item on the menu and she was too frustrated to deal. If anyone wants Mexican food NEVER GO TO THE MADISON HEIGHTS LOCATION. there isnt even a sign out front. What does that say.

Good food, good Margaritas. The only issue that I have is the new manager. Weve been coming here Alexs whole life and he always gets the kids taco and burrito but asks for the taco soft with no tomato. Im told the new manager doesnt allow substitutions. I told them that I dont mind paying extra as long as he gets what he wants. Well see how this works out. It could be our last taco Tuesday here.

I used to LOVE this place, the food was excellent, the value was awesome. They had Friday karaoke and saturday latin night, etc.. They seem to have changed ownership or management, the deals are gone, the staff reduced and overworked. There is one bartender for the whole place on the busy nights (this is not enough) I am done until I hear that there has been some change.

This place used to be the SPOT a few years ago. Fridays you had karaoke. Saturday evenings you had salsa classes and Saturday nights were Latin Night! Now, nothing. The food is bland, the service is horrible. They have one waitress to serve the bar area and the bar! I once waited 15 minutes for a beer. I hope they do something to change this place. Otherwise, its adios!

The people that say it is authentic Mexican probably eat regularly at Taco Bell. Thats the kind if Tortillas my Tacos came with - right out of the box! Authentic? You people need to get out more often! The Asian waitress Gina was awesome though, and the place feels Mexican, but I came here to eat not drink like the previous reviewers. This was my second and last try.

We went on a Friday night and had slow service with big noisy crowd. The chips are stale and wifes food was given to another table and we almost finished before she got her meal. Stay away on Friday nights. Food is average for a Mexican restaurant. Our experience was not so good, but try and see what you think.

Food was average (huge). Beer was cold and good. Atmosphere is lacking as it is dark (even with bright paint) and usually sparsely populated. Some focused improvement and this could be a killer - one really doesnt need much of a reason to avoid the further drive to go to the hell that is Sagebrush Cantina.
